  1. They're best known as Black Light Bulbs here, you should be able to find them relatively easily. Fluorescent bulbs will not give you the effect you want. Be carefull though, Black lights burn at usually much higher wattages and can overload many residential grade fixtures and burn extremely hot to the touch.
  2. Not being 100% up on the Football League, I could be wrong, but that's the closest he has to a local side, yes?
  3. Hits yes. Rare tracks, most likely no.
  4. A lot of the songs that people tend to ask "why wasn't _____ released", were, like Don Quixote, special one off songs that were written for specific situations and thus will never likely get an official release. Also, a lot of those songs, only exist as demos or live cuts, so it's likely a lot of them were never even finished.
  5. Not sure about Paradise, but PoC wasn't released to all the formats Coldplay usually get released on here in North America, and was released to some formats they aren't usually on. Notably, it wasn't released for Triple A play, which has always been Coldplay's strongest NA radio format.
  6. 1. As has been covered above, it didn't flop. 2. That is all.
  7. I'd rather have it in than IMP, Fix You, or Politik personally. (I don't like Politik at all TBH)
  8. Not as such, no.;)
  9. Look's impressive!:) Particularly like how you re-created those round neon light things in the back, and the painting looks just as detailed as the real stuff.
  10. Definately. There are only so many frequencies and sooner or later something's going to use the same one. It's the same principle as picking up phone signals on a baby monitor, or when you get radio interference through your television or computer speakers. Not an uncommon occurance at all, actually.
  11. I'm a North American FWIW. I just tend to drop in and out because as a straight male, I have nothing to contribute to certain facets of the conversation.:wink3:
  12. I still say it's better than the dead husky one (though that seems to have been removed) I did find this one: :whatever: Which I find somewhat disturbing.:laugh3: Also, vanessarrent, I LOVE your sig!
  13. Yeah, his Hi-Watt rig is insanely powerful. It really translates that rib-crushing bass tone without cutting out the high end. I want one, but his is a custom one off product.
  14. Jonny and Will are the big football guys in the band. Jonny supports the Spurs and Will supports Southhampton. Guy's not a sports fan, but I've read he supports Raith Rovers for sentimental reasons, as they're his hometown team. Never heard anything about what team (if any) Chris supports.
  15. Um...There're both red.:laugh3: As far as I can tell, the only two songs where Guy plays bass in something other than standard are Charlie Brown and A Message. I'm also not sure Guy always played CB dropped, as on some of the festival gigs he played the entire gig with the Jazz Bass and didn't swap for that song. I think it was probably standard on the record, but it's so deep in the mix, it's hard to be clear.:\
  16. As far as I know, Matt's book is the only "official" book released about the band. It's mostly about the band's touring structure, and not about the band per se though. Most of the unofficial releases are indeed rubbish, but there are a few good ones out there. (at least that's what I'm told, I've never personally seen one that wasn't awful and inaccurate.)
  17. There are a few bass covers on Youtube where people say it's drop D, but I'm not 100% sure if that's what Guy's playing or not. Sounds good to my ear though. EDIT: I assume you mean the Jazz Bass, the P-Bass is tuned standard.
  18. As others have said, B-Sides are rapidly dying out for most bands. The big trend now is for singles to be backed with re-mixes, and there have been plenty of those released with the current crop of singles.
  19. If you're talking about the basses that he's painted with the MX artwork, those are Jazz Basses, not Precision. He's still playing his workhorse red Precision for most songs though. He plays the red MX Jazz Bass for Charlie Brown (because it's in a dropped tuning) and the blue/green Jazz Bass for the C-stage. He's also got a white one that I've never seen him play but is in the Paris photos. for comparison: JAZZ BASS PRECISION BASS (this picture is old, but it's the same bass he's using as his main live one now) He also has played Fender Jaguar Basses, and Mustang Basses as well as a few other non fender makes.
  20. Clocks is more than just one of the "big cheer moments" though. The piano hook has been used so much in promos, film trailers, etc. it perhaps rivals anything else as the single piece of music (not the whole song, mind), that the band are most known for.
  21. Well, there has been both good and bad feedback everywhere there's any kind of feedback, so it's hard to imagine he wouldn't be aware of it regardless. At this point in their careers though, I really can't imagine the boys doing anything for any reason other than it being something they personally want to do. What that may be, we'll have to wait and see, but I'd be amazed if they felt a pressing need to conform to any kind of outside expectations. And I still say everyone who claims the feeback on MX was heavily mixed, is either not remembering or ignoring the reception X and Y got back in the day. Now that was a mixed reception!;)
  22. I'd guess they probably focus more on the main page, and maybe an occasional glance at the forum, and if that probably the sections of the forum that deal with people's comments on releases, shows etc. If I was in the band, those are the sections that would have value to me, not the sillyness we post here.:) On an unrelated topic, who wants to start a betting pool on how long it will take the report of Ian's conversation with Phil to be disected, (mis)interperated, and used as fodder for b***hing when some of what was said doesn't come to pass in exactly the way people think it will? -climbs off soapbox- Lastly to keep this post somewhat on topic: Go Will!;)
  23. Coldplay can see into your house through the bands!:laugh3:
  24. There must be some way to make that into a smilie.
  25. Perhaps the thread should be renamed at this point.:P
