  1. If they were going to add a Perth date, odds are they would have done it around the same time as the 2nd Sydney date.
  2. You're missing my point. I'm not sure it's fair to say all eras did. Aside from the Viva era in 08-10, the only "extra songs" were a handful of b-sides, live tracks and re-mixes. We've had re-mixes for MX, a few live tracks, and a song that's essentially a b-side. It's more accurate to say Viva represented an exceptionally prolific period of the band's career, as opposed to there being a slowdown now.
  3. Again, what gives you reason to think that? Barring some sort of feasible reasoning, saying they will release an ep/album/film/etc. is just a wish, nothing more.
  4. There's often 1 or 2 songs from any given record that don't get played. I guess the band are the only people who know the inside deal on why.:\
  5. There are a few stories about people giving him hats, but none that I know of where he actually wore those hats.
  6. Those are regions often left out of big tours though. Still, Coldplay has toured all those places more consistantly than a lot of other bands, so if they go anywhere next year, I'd say those are all likely options.
  7. What are you basing that on?
  8. If you haven't already, you might want to post this in the ticket exchange thread. It's likely that if anyone wants to swap, they'll look there first, and it might get you more attention.:)
  9. I highly doubt they'd do two western canadian legs on one tour, but you never know.
  10. fakfak replied to amsterdam's topic in Coldplay
    To say the least.:laugh3:
  11. So does Jonny.:P In all seriousness though, I think he gets a lot of his hats from them. If you go on the website there are several hats he's been photographed in.
  12. That's the way things are going these days unfortunately. Although it seems to us on the outside that these major tours are raking in unbelievabiptle sums of money, the costs add up in an equally huge way. Consider that the Times published that Coldplay's touring company's net profits (which are public record) were reported at somewhere around 11.5 million pounds for 2009-10 where for the same period their gross live receipts were right around the 75 million pound mark. It's still a ton of money no doubt, but it's a lot less than you'd think the tour is pulling in.
  13. But it sounds like from what you wrote, that they weren't making much effort to have them collected.
  14. I'm more interested to know what the guy he filled in for thinks!:P I mean talk about REALLY kicking yourself over the road not taken.:\
  15. I wouldn't say anything is defiinite. They're hitting most of the big touring markets this year, and I'm not sure they want to have quite as demanding a schedule this go around. I'm not saying I think they won't play live next year, but I do think it's a very real possibility that the 2012 dates will be the entirety of this tour.
  16. Will also has the disadvatage of being the drummer, which means for most of the show he's stationary up at the back which is not conducive(sp?) to photos. That said, as I said before on the Will thread, he does seem to be the member (aside from Chris) who's most singled out for praise, especially now that he's practically taken on the role of a one man band. He plays six instruments over the course of a typical gig this tour.:o
  17. Maybe, but in all honesty, I've seen way more complaints from the jumpers and wavers critisizing others for being "dead". Everyone enjoys concerts in their own way.
  18. Honestly, I think his Scottish accent is fairly light. There are times when he almost sounds like he has an American accent TBH. It's like anything else though, there's no one single Scottish accent, it's a range.
  19. Asking people to recycle them is different from asking people to hand them back in to be re-used. It makes sense to encourage people to turn them in to be properly recycled if they don't want to keep them as I'm sure there are a lot of people who do throw them away. That's just my guess on the situation though.
  20. It's not a question of likelyhood. If anything were to happen, the band would be on the hook for it.
  21. It's actually not an unheard of concept for a big production bleeding edge tour to lose money on the tech despite phenominal gross receipts(sp?) U2 are notorious for this kind of thing, and it's been reported that without corporate sponsorship, even the 360 tour would have been unfeasibly expensive to produce, even though it set gross and attendence records everywhere. That said, given Chris' penchant for hyperbole, he's probably playing this one up a bit.
  22. True, but the other side of that is that it's now much more likely for pretty much all the important moments to make it onto Youtube. A lot of the gigs even go up in their entirety.
  23. I don't see what makes it all that worse from the other singles' art. I mean, they're all pretty similar looking. Could do without that band of yellow at the top though.
  24. IDK, honestly I thought the gig threads were generally more active this go around, and I've been around for a few tours now.:\
