Hmmm 5/10, I really like a lot of the new stuff on the new album, but this song in particular never grabbed me. Love the drums, and the orchestration, but his vocal melody doesn't do anything for me.. And the guitars are just there to be there.. [video=youtube_share;ATXIzlvL0dI]

Fingers crossed!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Damn it! I must have missed their mentions then.. The numbers made them seem new enough.. So this means samples from other songs they are using on their own songs? Like what they did with Talk (borrowing Kraftwerk's melody?)

Woot! I finally discovered new titles!! Spread the rumors :P

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
This has happened to me before! And it did sound awesome in my dream, and I did record it before falling back asleep.. But then I remember trying to work it out into a real song with my guitar and it sounded awful lol.

I'm with you, keep getting my hopes up every month for some official announcement and then nothing happens.. The thought that saddens me is having to go through another Winter before having a new Coldplay album haha.

Maybe now that Chris was inspired by Glastonbury he'll write that one last song he always writes last minute to complete the album!

Even my band sounded like Coldplay, but we never hid the influence, often at practice we'd say things like "hmm Will wouldn't allow that part" haha.. If you're curious to hear what we did it's here.. we're kinda on hiatus, recording new stuff that's quite different.

Coldplaying Asks Coldplay: it's YOUR TURN to ask the question! (CLOSED: find out the winning questio
What tends to take the longest when working on a new album? Editing arraignments to come up with the right parts, or the recording, re-recording and mixing part?

I would actually enjoy that sound a lot! And David Rosi said it sounded like the Village People!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I'm eagerly awaiting some kind of update on the album every day now, as in I'm almost compulsively checking here to hopefully find new rumors to discuss.. it can't be healthy.

I'm so with you on this.. I'm surprised Will approved of it's boring melody haha.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
True, plus they've spend God knows how long working on the songs/editing/recording... If I had that much time and freedom on my hands to do music, I'd have really high expectations of myself too.. So there's no excuse really..

I totally agree, I'm also an MX defender, all I meant to point about it is how it went more poppy than where I thought they seem to be heading with Viva... Actually HLH UWTB and MM are some of my all time favorite Coldplay songs..

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Must agree, my curiosity levels are peaked with the thought of what else could Coldplay try, how else will they deliver us good hooks and melodies.. When I really I fell in love with Coldplay was Viva, when they experimented with odd time signatures, odd structures, and even had an instrumental opener.. These things made me think they were pushing the pop boundaries and left me thirsty for more. I wanted them to take it further on the next one, but then MX came by and was mostly pop. Nothing against it, I also ended loving the album for what it is. Then Midnight was released and my jaw dropped in excitement, thinking they'd finally gone beyond pop, transcended beyond their usual instruments and opened the doors of experimentation beyond Eno, and it was actually a bit of let down to find that GS was also mainly pop, a more mellow, non-surprising pop... My point is, I don't care if AHFOD is pop, they naturally have a pop sensibility. I just wish they blended their pop beyond what's already out there. All I hope for is that whoever the real producers are, instead of blending Coldplay with what's already been done, are pushing for a sweet merge of styles for a greater sound beyond an Avicii song.

Wish I was digging the new Muse songs, it would soften the wait some more.. But honestly haven't liked any of the new songs they've released.. :(

The hat signals even brighter colors than MX as part of the new era. And cause it's supposedly a happy album, so they are gonna be wearing bright neon colors and childlike clothes, like harajuku girls haha

Coldplay vs Others
A Man and a Woman (U2) vs Ghost Stories (the song)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Part of me really wants these to be songs from the new album, not the red nose show.. Are they meant to play in the red nose show or is it just comedy sketches?

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Yeah I'm hopeful this new album showcases, if anything, more guitars.. Even if there's electronic, just include tons of those beautiful guitars Jonny comes up with
