I actually thought the article was a bit amusing Can't speak much on the nutritional part, I eat horribly with lots of junk food and am only skinny through what seems to be my ridiculous metabolism. It's gonna bite me in the ass eventually.

Also, I don't know if it's just me, but our culture seems hell-bent on logic usually being the best way to solve everything. We also seem to have a rather violent culture... at least to non-confrontational me.

Australia seems to take after UK attitudes it seems... here it is usually a negative thing to do. The media usually vilify it too. I saw heaps of this sort of thing when I was involved with Occupy here... the first thing to be shouted was usually 'get a job', 'hippies', 'take a shower', 'dole bludgers' etc etc. It's seen as a get back to work, pull your own weight thing.

Come to think of it I prefer the feeling of being high over that of being drunk. The former seems more relaxed whereas the latter seems like more of a bumbling mess Then again, that may be rose colored glasses. I did hop like a rabbit into my boyfriend's lap one of the few times I did weed, which probably comes under "bumbling mess" in a way too :P ...used to smoke socially but after one night where I had 2-3 menthols I just felt so sick and never did it when sober again. When I've been drinking I can be pretty horrible and go right for them though. Luckily, such occasions are rare...

I've had to a few times when I was younger, I was just terrified of dental equipment and had to have something done... I remember it tasting horrible but then eventually just falling asleep. Then I'd wake up in my mum's arms in a fairly peaceful room and in a peaceful mood. Apparently I may have had it when I got grommets done, but I don't remember that

Conversely I hate the updates being in the same space as the chatting. It disrupts the flow of it a bit, if that makes sense. Though I see the benefit in that it additionally forces old messages down.

The Lory post just makes me realise that I don't think I'll ever get the image of the hen of luxury out of my brain.

Probably. Many of the people that were here when I first joined have moved onto different things. To be honest if I went back in time to that supposed "great era" I'd be yelling at myself for shitposting and being a fool :P I did seem to have big changes in the way I was. So I don't really wish things were the same. I think with the latest Coldplay stuff wrapping up we will see a more steady migration into the Lounge this year and next rather than just everyone jumping ship

Just wondering, when is the scrapbook due to cross the pond to Australia, if at all? I might be able to participate now. The only thing to be wary of is I would prefer not to ship to US, Australia Post imposes a bullshit charge of $9 for parcels over 500g for 'security' or some such (despite the fact it's a fee they impose, not US customs). If this can't be helped that is fine though.

For how long now? I remember the time I ordered from their store a few years ago it took at least a month for it to get here... I think it may have been two months. Meanwhile I can get stuff shipped here USPS First Class International (el cheapo option) in 10 days. I swear they must use sea mail or something else ridiculous for Australia, not the first time they've been super slow...

...Well, poop. It's working now. Sometimes it doesn't work though and embeds it as a link and the only way to get it to work is by doing the second method. Well, I suppose this thread can stand for a workaround for those times now.

What I have to do instead is this [ url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGzOA6Nqqzk]lalala[ /url] without the spaces = [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGzOA6Nqqzk]lalala[/ame] Which is a real pain in the bum. So is this a glitch or was this a change made recently?
