Alex James: I turned down Coldplay for being boring
Alex James...what a Knob. So what happened to your record label Alex? Oh yeah, it folded and now you've been reduced to sitting on the panel for Orange unsigned acts. So you can keep your pearls of Wisdom for Channel 4 now ok mate! Twat.

'The Goldrush' released on 'Life in Technicolor ii' 7"Vinyl [LISTEN IN FIRST POST]
Here's an idea, why don't they bloody start releasing proper singles again rather than just promo's that we then have to pay extortionate money for on ebay?! And why go to such lengths to be a pain in the arse and only put it on the vinyl version? Obviously I am looking forward to a new b-side, particuarly one with Will on vocals, but I just find all the nonsense that surrounds each release these days so irritating.

16-Dec-08 - London, O2 Arena - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
I hate to deliver bad news, but have you not heard about what a nightmare it is getting out and away from the o2? I would say you have next to no chance of getting that last train unless you leave the gig early as the band won't come on until at least 9 and they will play a minimum set of 1hr 40 mins. As you can imagine with 20,000 odd people wanting to leave at the same time, there is a bit of a queue to get out. The problems really begin though when you get to North Greenwich tube station and they only have a couple of ticket barriers open to control crowd numbers on the platforms. This is like pulling teeth, my girlfriend and I were queueing for an hour when we went to see Snow Patrol there when the o2 first opened. Other gigs i've been to there since haven't been quite as bad, but I think you will still be pushing it... and what if you need to take a pee?!

[The Sun] Girls Aloud to play Wembley with Coldplay? [2009]
Also since when was Manchester Uni in Yorkshire?!

[The Sun] Girls Aloud to play Wembley with Coldplay? [2009]
I am not disagreeing with the direction of the new album or E.P am I, what I'm saying is that these pop associations are blatant attempts to sell more and more records at the expense of self respect. There is no need for all these collaborations, the band are more than capable of growing on their own. The problem with a lot of the people who write on here (EasyTo Please being an obvious example) is that they will never criticise anything the band does. Coldplay could fart in a bottle and you would lap it up! I'm talking about the kind of people who give Lost+ 10 out out 10 in the polls. Now I will get idiots posting 'do you even like Coldplay?' well yes I fucking do, I love them that's why it hurts me to see them pulling stunts like Girls Aloud to support them at one of their biggest gigs ever. EasyToPlease take your head out of your butt, if I was a music snob I wouldn't have followed our boys for the last 8 years would I? My point is how about they show a bit more support for (decent) up and coming bands.

[The Sun] Girls Aloud to play Wembley with Coldplay? [2009]
What the hell are they thinking, the last time I checked Coldplay were still a serious band?!! This is awful, Chris please see sense. With stunts like these you are turning our beloved band into a bloody joke! Kylie, Jay-Z, Girls Aloud... why do they feel it necessary to associate with these people rather than other bands, I mean how cheesy and commercial do they want to go?!

[Confirmed] UK Stadium Gigs 2009
Complete nonsense, what are you talking about?! Do you not think it might have something do with the tickets going on sale less than a month before christmas in a year that's been extremely difficult for most people financially? Also, correct me if i'm wrong but in brummyland do they not have football matches and other outdoor sporting events running through the winter, like they do up and down the rest of the country? Come on mate, it's not unreasonable at all to have a stadium tour in september.

Spot on!

Now That We Have It....REACTIONS
I love a lot about this new EP, but it could of done without the crap Lost+ for sure. Also I think Life in Technicolor works so much better without lyrics, come on you lot open your ears a lot of the lyrics just don't fit/flow! It's all about Glass of Water & NMFWTTG for me :-) Good work guys.

DVD of VLV Tour
Problem is the band are so precious about anything that they put out, even if they have the intention of recording a dvd will they be happy enough with the outcome to actually release it?!

Prospekt's March Release Question
Can somebody tell me where that 250,000 came from, was it from an official source? I seriously doubt it will be that number, the band give 10% of profits to charity so why would they sell themselves, the charites (and us the fans) short by only producing that many. Even if that is the official number given, i'm sure EMI will find it within in the hearts to re-release a little while down the line, I mean calling anything 'limited' is a sure way to drive sales.

Exclusive Preview Of Prospekt's March! (Courtesy of EMI, 5th November 2008)
I've tried on mine and my Girlfriend's fb and we only get Rainy Day over and over. Anyway, sorry to spoil the party guys but I think it sounds lightweight, hope the other newies have got a lot more going on!

Lost? Video Competition: Post YouTube Entries Here!
Yes it's very good, but I don't think it fits with the song particuarly well? It's obviously been made a while ago and the song has just been put over the top, it's a lot better than some of the cheesy efforts i've seen but I know someone will come up with something a lot better.

21-Oct-08: Cleveland - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos [originally 6 Jul]
They need to start mixing these setlists up like they were doing at the start of the tour, i'm seeing them at the o2 and in Liverpool in December and it would be nice to get a few different tracks for my money!

Favorite Album So Far?
Great comment, replacing A Whisper (with either I Ran Away, or Crest of Waves) would make AROBTTH clearly the strongest album.

PETITION FOR "LADDER TO THE SUN" RELEASE
This will never happen, it's a great song though. Not only has it been too long as Majgirl said but I just think this is exactly the kind of sound they are trying to move away from.

Did they give a date for the Knebworth shows??

The Sun: Coldplay to rush release new album
I don't think there will be an EP and a new album next year my friend, one or the other. Still great news though as it seems it's now a dead cert that something will be released

Somebody posted it on here at the time, sandi102 if I remember correctly.

Radio 2 Concert - 30th August 2008
A flag on their system to say that my address didn't exist apparently! To this day I still don't understand, but the BBC never bothered to call or email, it was only when I phoned up 2 days before that I found out that I had registered in time and had 2 tickets. I only phoned up that day though because a few others on here who had got tickets had posted what time they had registered and I knew I'd registered earlier than all of them. I had a feeling... I don't have it this time!
