  1. I was there last night and lets be honest, the atmosphere was a bit dead?! Of course Radiohead were brilliant as usual and they played a great selection from there back catalogue ( Planet Telex, Just, Pyramid Song, There There) along with most of the new album and even Symbol Rush from Thom's solo album, but I just felt the crowd were never really with them. The excitement was diluted as I think the place was too big and the stage seemed too far from the crowd. I don't know, maybe attending those 2 intimate Coldplay gigs in London last week has left me feeling like as fans we deserve better than to have to fight our way through a 30,000 strong crowd every time we want to see our bands play? I spend hundreds, thousands probably on gigs every year but increasingly I just feel like I am being ripped off! Bottom line is, this was nowhere near as good as when I saw them at Hammersmith 2 years ago and if memory serves that was only £30. Also you could tell there were a lot of Johnny come latelys there last night.
  2. I think we're all getting our hopes a little too much, the songs left off are probably all fantastic but getting it through the band's quality control will prove difficult i'm sure. I think the best chance of getting this album out quickly is if they have a massive fall out with EMI and decide they want to tie up loose ends and get off the label sharpish!
  3. How sad am I, nobody else has posted on my thread so I have to! Come on, somebody must be sitting on an old ticket...
  4. Don't act stupid. Nobody is saying they don't like the the Live shows, it's just that when you've seen them a few times you don't just wanted to hear the same songs over and over. We want them to dip into the back catalogue a bit more and play some of the great B-Sides or less commercial songs from the albums, not just falling back on Yellow and In My Place all the time. That said, I love the new acoustic version of Yellow and so maybe that's the direction to be going, give the older played out tunes a bit of a liven up! The boys have enough anthems ok. I know people are going to get on here and say it's all well and good for me to say this, but 'what if you've never seen them before?' Well, that's a good excuse if you live in Mongolia or if you're 14 years old, but the truth is you should have seen them by now as they've been knocking around a good deal of time now and they tour a lot harder and play a lot more than other big bands. Or you could just be a Johnny come lately?!
  5. Square One. It was a great joy to for me to be there & hear this included in the Brixton set last week, as for me this song is sheer brilliance and really gets the adrenaline pumping. If I had to make one criticism of Viva, it is that LIT just doesn't cut it as an opening track, not after the history of great openers we have previously enjoyed as Coldplay fans!
  6. Spot On. I find the increasing use of backing tracks a bit worrying and feel that they should only resort to this when they really need to. Don't get me wrong, I love his dance moves, but I think throwing himself around too much and rolling about on the floor can actually dilute the performance. Also I think this highlights the point about what the band themselves actually think will make a great show, maybe they should realize that fans want to be entertained by the music (primarily) rather than an over the top, pop extravaganza.
  7. I found the little posters for £10 ($20) more worrying... I still bought one though!
  8. I think what would be better, is to just mix the set up a little on each night. I saw them a good few times on the twisted logic tour and it was basically the same set every time, it was only in Paris that there was a significant difference. I would love to see them go down the Radiohead route, where they just play what they want to play, you never now what they're going to open with and the whole show doesn't revolve around mass sing-alongs to the hits and elaborate stage set ups which can't be changed.
  9. Thinking i may take a little trip to Germany, why not i've done Paris & Belfast?! But also I just want to say that I don't think the band can escape all blame, they obviously have some say in where they play and how the tour is managed. By playing these huge all seated arenas they are just providing ammunition for the critics who label them bland and 'grandad rock'. Can't believe they haven't demanded a presale for fans as well!
  10. This is well over due, well done lads! :)
  11. That is the actual single, the only other one available is the one one that comes in card the slip case which is even rarer.
  12. Brixton on Monday was pretty amazing, or the X&Y launch at Koko 2005 just because it was so intimate.
  13. I attended the amazing BBC Concert with my brother on Wednesday but we never received actual tickets for the event, instead when we arrived we were just presented with numbered stickers which was stuck to my confirmation email and they let us in with that. He's not bothered but it's been really bugging me since as I am a completist and so would love to have a memento from the day. Is there anybody out there who has an unused ticket, or an extra used ticket from the concert? Please PM me or post on here if you can help with this, I am willing to pay!
  14. Yeah I read/ heard about this. Has anybody else heard anything more? It would definitely beat waiting another 3 years for an album...
  15. I think they will continue with the confetti and justify it with a lot of recyclable/sustainable waffle. I picked up a handful at brixton and the BBC, haven't got a green butterfly though... What a geek!
  16. Ok, so you can hear a bit of a similarity with the melody, but that song they're comparing Viva to is complete shit! The whole situation is laughable, forget it people.
  17. I'm generally loving Lost! at the moment, but Crest Of Waves played randomly from my itunes this morning and i enjoyed it so much i had a repeat :D
  18. i think retirement, for a little while at least may be a good idea. I mean, it's not as though the boys are short for anthems is it?!
  19. Ok i must admit, the new acoustic version played at Brixton / BBC concert has got some of my passion back for this baby! :D
  20. fantastic cheers!
  21. I'm seeing them at Liverpool on the 10th and the o2 on the 16th, Looking forward to Echo more though as it's a lot smaller. People can spout all the rubbish they want about 'Acoustics' but the more intimate the better (for me).
  22. I was at the BBC Gig yesterday which was amazing  but Dec 10th seems to long to wait until I see the boys play again! :(
  23. Ok, so i've got a strange request. Has anybody got an unused ticket from yesterdays BBC Gig or a spare used ticket stub? My tickets were never sent out (long story) and so I was to told to collect them on the door yesterday, but when we arrived we were only given stickers with a number which they stuck on the confirmation email and I never got given an actual ticket?!! Although it was obviously a wonderful experience being there yesterday with my brother, I am a little disappointed that I haven't got the ticket to keep as a little memento (I keep all my tickets, paticuarly Coldplay). I know this may seem a bit anal to many people on here, but I'm a completist and it's going to keep bothering me! So i wondered, is there anybody who could help me? Obviously I would be willing to pay a fee, just post back on here or send me a private message. Thanks (fingers crossed!)
