  1. Kimchi, they never contacted me before when i'd won for the BBC2 concert! I had to call up to find out because apparently there was a flag on my address when they were about to send them out. Sorry, i'm giving everybody hope aren't I? Bad habit.
  2. So what's going on, has anybody won or what??
  3. Sorry everybody, but have we been listening to the same song?! I am not opposed to a bit of Keane every now and then, but i downloaded the new track this morning and think that it is bloody awful!! It seems to me that every time a band take a new direction lots of people like to jump on the bandwagon, even when what they've come out with is obviously self-indulgent crap! I hope the rest of the album doesn't sound like this

No, i've never cared for it much.
  5. Yep brilliant song, it deserves a proper recorded version. Come on lads!
  6. Oh man, here we go again...
  7. I would have to say that I prefer the Hollywood Bowl version (of Politik) that went out on a bootleg, this was also on the 2003 tour. Check it out!
  8. But have they ever played it live?
  9. nathey42 replied to a post in a topic in 42
I like 42... it's my house number! other than that i'd have to go for 'Living in My Head'
  10. I completely agree, I don't know why Coldplay deal with them at all anymore as they obviously don't need the exposure. It's like once a band gets to a certain size, their writers find it easier to just write nonsense rather than something constructive. Please everybody boycott this shit rag!
  11. I have never been able to stomach this song, it's just so weak. Are you telling me that Moses, One I Love, I Ran Away or Crest Of Waves couldn't of taken it's place and done a better job?! These are all brilliant songs, A Whisper isn't. Even further down the list you could choose Murder or Animals? I Bloom Blaum is too 'out there' and wouldn't of fitted with the rest of the album and I wouldn't have replaced it with 1.36 as this is just as irritating as A Whisper, even with it's Simon Pegg backing vocals! I suppose my argument relies on the fact that these songs were finished at the time of the album going out, we know One I Love was as it featured on the first single. Ok, i'm waiting for somebody to shoot me down now...
  12. 1. Parachutes/A Rush Of Blood - joint 1st in my opinion, Parachutes is the perfect album as it doesn't have a weak track, the songs on Rush are even stronger but has a chink in it's armour in the form of A Whisper. 2. Viva La Vida - Natural progression/evolution whatever you want to call it, I just love the variety on here and the main thing is that there are still enough 'big' songs to satisfy. My big problem with it is it lacks the great opening track that we have all come to expect as Coldplay fans. 3. X&Y - As everybody knows there is a fair bit of filler on here, but the great songs are as good as anything else they've done. People who slag this album need there head examined!
  13. A Message definitely, don't really here many people talk about this song on here but this was always my fave song from X&Y. It's the beautiful lyrics and the way that it builds. Saw them plenty of times on the twisted logic tour, but have still never seen this played live... rectify this please!
  14. Ok well I would love to see Editors do the support for Coldplay as they are my no.2 band, but I just don't see it happening...
  15. Yeah, so everybody can stop paying ridiculous money on Ebay for it!! :)
  16. Editors and Bloc Party would see themselves as too big (in the UK anyway) to be a support act, this would be more likely to happen on the US Tour and in other territories so that they would gain more exposure in areas where they are not so well known. Anyway, didn't I read somewhere on here that Chris' brother's band Milk Teeth would be making an appearance as openers on the UK tour??
  17. Ha ha calm down Kimchi, I was just talking about the Glastonbury performance where Chris fluffs up! Would love to see a video of those gigs though, btw it always baffled me why they shot the Fix You Stadium scenes at the Bolton Concerts rather than at Crystal Palace, which is obviously in London where the rest of the video was shot? Answers anybody?? What day where you there anyway, the monday or tuesday? I was there tuesday (June 28th I think) remember it raining a ridiculous amount and my girlfriend not really enjoying her first Coldplay concert. Chris made the Joke about wishing he'd written that Travis song... I think you know what one!
  18. Careful Where You Stand / For You. I have never really understood why they couldn't have at leat fitted one of these little gems on to Parachutes?!
  19. They played it a lot at the start of the Twisted Logic tour, I saw them play the same version as in the Video at Crystal palace, London in June 05. It's my fave song of all time.
  20. I went to the Brixton gig the other week on my own, I didn't win tickets but was able to pick one up when they were released a few days before through ticketmaster. I had seats upstairs and was a bit worried about going on my own, but as soon as I got in there I started talking to a great girl from Singapore who was also on her own and we kept each other company for the rest of the evening. Don't worry, If you're sitting then it will be quite easy to strike up a conversation with people as you know that you have at least one thing in common. Anyway us Coldplay fans are all generally quite accepting. The worst part I suppose will be queueing on your own...
  21. This is a bit random, but I saw Thom Yorke in Selfridges London on thursday, 1st day of the sale. I was a bit disappointed that he would even set foot in there to be honest, the capitalist bastards! In his defence though, he didn't have any yellow bags in his hand... yet. I would of approached him, could of mentioned that I'd attended the Vic park gig on tuesday, but then I remembered hearing some horror stories about people getting a load of verbal from him in the past! thought better of it. Nevermind, he's still a god and he looked bloody cool in his grey and pink Fred Perry polo and oversized shades with scruffy beard. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi was awesome on tuesday
  22. P.S I think everybody will be glad that I can drop the annoying signature text now!
  23. Sorry lad I wasn't trying to have a dig at you, I was knackered when I posted that last night and can see how it may have come across like that though. Thanks for your kind words anyway :)
  24. I think they're saving DAAHF as the final song/big finish for the main tour when it starts. Come on, it's epic enough right?? My fave off the new album anyway. I'm sure I heard a live version of Murder somewhere before, don't know where though. But with regards to I Ran Away, I think this song is so brilliant it deserves a thread all of it's own, a petition to get it played live at least once! Can't see them bringing it in now though, oh well i'll leave it a few days and then probably start the thread anyway...
  25. It seems like I've created a bit of a stir?! Ok, well I don't want to get drawn on this too much, i'm just happy that somebody is prepared to let me have one of their precious tickets! That was a bit insensitive though wasn't it busybeeburns? Nevermind. It's great to know that I've got the support of a few friends on here though (Kimchi, Ron) cheers guys. WOO HOO i'm gonna get my ticket! :D
