Camera Camera, what's everybody's view on taking a camera??

Am I mad for not liking "Yellow"?
It's not one of my personal favorites, but i think it's still a great song. It's funny reading what other people have posted though as i would always choose Trouble over Yellow! I think it could really do with being retired from the set list for a little while, so that people like myself could learn to appreciate it again. I've seen the band live 8 times now and it's been played on every single occasion!

I was only joking pal, sorry that was a cheap shot and I actually don't mind a bit of Keane every now and then. Anyway in truth it wasn't complete bliss last night, I was a tad disappointed that DAAHF wasn't played. I'm going to be there at the o2 as well on the 16th, have a good one ok :)

Maybe you should just stick to Keane in future, of course you don't see them playing many free gigs do you as Mr chaplin's got to earn enough to feed his coke habit?! I don't know what everybody's complaining for anyway, it was an amazing set with a good few surprises (Square One, Trouble, Will singing!) and if I hadn't won a ticket I would of happily paid £100 to go. Even though the playing was a little rusty at times, I agree with Kimchi, this was up there for me. I think people forget that this was a warm up for the band before they properly go out on tour, when they play the Arenas of course the set will be longer.

BTW I just want to say thanks Sandi for convincing me to phone up the BBC to claim the tickets that had been allocated for me and that they just hadn't bothered to inform me about (?!) Sorry you didn't have as much luck, but from reading the brixton thread it sounds like you had an amazing experience yesterday (me too) and anyway you've got the best seats in the house for the o2 in Dec havent you? cheers.

Does anybody know what the situation with cameras is tomorrow, are we allowed to take them in or not? And even if we are not supposed to, is everybody on here take theirs anyway?!

People keep saying how strict it was, but had my passport in my hand and my ID wasn't checked at all?! Anyway brilliant night all round, I was a bit worried about going on my own but the people sitting around me were really friendly. I thought the boys played a great selection of songs last night and I was thrilled to hear Square One followed by Trouble, what a treat!! Will taking up lead vocal duties on that new song was a lovely surprise as well. Was a bit disappointed not to have DAAHF included in the set and also don't know about everybody else on here but i'm not convinced with Life In Technicolor as the opener, even though i love it on the album. It just doesn't have the same punch as Politik or Square One. That's just a minor thing though, as it was an amazing night, oh and let me just add how impressed with how Raw Jonny's guitar playing sounded at times last night. The best example of this was during God Put A Smile when the whole band really rocked out before Chris broke his guitar, does anybody on here know the lucky sod in the crowd who he gave it to? Fantastic, bring on Wednesday now!

Sorry if that came across shitty. I was just a bit hyped this morning and I didn't post to antagonise people, i was just trying to encourage other people to phone up if they were unsure.

Well I don't know about that, I only know what i've been told by somebody called Geraldine working on the BBC studio audiences line this morning. I could give you my ticket numbers and 6 digit reference if you like? I know it sounds unlikely and I was amazed to be told that this morning, I still don't believe it myself and probably won't until i'm in there. Look if I go along and get turned away, i'll be the first to get on here complaining, I won't lie and say what an amazing gig it was!

QUOTE=dfective;2397417]So you're saying you never got an email or tickets... then you just phoned up the BBC, asked for tickets and they gave you some? No I never recieved an email to say I had won. What bugged me was the fact that on the original day of entry my confirmation was sent 3 times and I thought this was a glitch and didn't want this to be what stopped me winning. Then I started reading on here the times that everybody else had received their emails and realised that mine had come through a lot earlier than most people. Sandi102 said she had phoned up, so i thought why not? I got lucky I suppose :)

Ok, this unbelievable. So i phoned up the BBC this morning and have been told that I have in fact been allocated tickets (numbered below 200) but they were never sent out, because apparently there was a problem with my address (?). I've been given a reference number and I am to print my original confirmation email and collect tickets on the door that night WOOOHOOO!!! I'm still worried though and won't believe it until i'm in the door... If there is anybody else still wondering, I would say put your mind at rest and phone up because you may well have won tickets and miss out on an amazing gig because the beeb have ballsed up! 'If you never try, you'll never know...'

The WORST song on the album!!!!!!
What an idiot, you start a thread complaining about a song and then after just a few more listens you decide it's ok?! I'd say that if you don't like LIJ then there must be quite a lot of Coldplay songs you don't like pal. I agree with Lowley though, the acoustic version works better.

Death and all his friends/The Escapist (song ) review

You said they're not available until monday now though right? I think maybe I will though Sandi, especially as my application got through so quickly and I have proof of the email mix up... cheers Yeah I have got a brixton ticket Kimchi and completely grateful for it, but as Sandi said on here earlier, you can't beat the live experience. I think the BBC thing will be equally special and obviously slightly more intimate, with a chance to maybe even meet the boys!

I just thought, I got the BBC confirmation email sent to me three times that morning, I hope that F*ck up at their end isn't what's prevented me getting tickets!! Oh man, i've got to let this go, i'm going crazy with all this nonsense...

Stop it mate you're giving me hope! My Brother got his confirmation at 10.41 that day and it would be too much of a coincidence if the postie didn't deliver to both our houses today?! Maybe though...

I got mine at 10.38, so it would appear that the timing wasn't everything?! Unless, they arrive in the post tomorrow...

16-Jun-08: London - Brixton Academy
I managed to get only 1 ticket in the scramble on Ticketmaster yesterday, so I'm braving it on my own. I just want people's opinion on here, as my ticket is circle seating (upstairs) it says unreserved so does that mean it's going to be a free for all to get the best seats on the night? Also as I'm on my own, I'm worried that if I rush to get a reasonably good seat i won't be able to leave it all night. This means that if I decide to go and queue a while before the doors open, i'll either have to dehydrate myself or cross my legs for a good few hours!

Whats the difference bewteen the gatefold and Jewelcase Version?
I didn't even know they were doing a Jewel Case?! I bought my Gatefold in Sainsbury's (a bit naff I know) yesterday morning and that was all they had. I'm a fellow collector, I assume they must just be doing different casing for different countries...

General Chat: Stage Set Up
My brother got us tickets for the Liverpool show, I know they are the higher price bracket but he says that it didn't indicate where the seats are. This is good news though as it will give people who are not in the greatest position more of a chance to see some up close action at some stage in the gig.

Pending? What, is there a hotline for this then?! This is torture, I need to go out soon and print images for my HND photography exhibition which starts on tuesday, that should be my priority at the moment really!
