  1. :D No Problem! ...we're happy to have you on the dark side :P
  2. I agree. I mean if you just look at that performance of Spies... what a great song! I mean they don't need any stupid outfits or over the top sounds or try to get teens to love their music there. They just play the songs they want. My question to you all is do you honestly believe that if the band never made it popular, and just continued as an unknown artist that they would go from their most popular song at the time Yellow to Teardrop or Paradise?
  3. not even close. If you actually read the post, maybe you can understand some of the frustration that a lot of us have for the band
  4. I'd like to see it
  5. You should also add a genre under their name that says "sell outs"
  6. Exactly! that's what so frustrating with this band. they have the ability to write and produce great songs like Moving to Mars (which honestly is one of my favorite songs by the band), but like you mentioned choose not to and the biggest slap in the face is it's demoted to a b-side.
  7. Post of the year. I agree with everything you said. It's a huge disappointment, and you pretty much summed up my thoughts on the band.
  8. You can say what you want about Lotus Flower or TKOL or Radiohead but at least they write and record the music they want to (regardless of what people think) rather than appealing to a younger audience.
  9. For a pop song it's not terrible and fits well along the likes of artists like Bieber or Rihanna or others. For Coldplay it is terrible. What the hell is this band doing anymore? If people can't see how deep the band has sold out (from songs like Teardrop and Paradise, the terrible lyrics, the way the band looks, and Rihanna being on the album), then they're misguided. My hopes for the band to do something good is pretty much zilch. I'm looking forward to hearing MX/Hurts like Heaven, but I'm sure they'll find some way to butcher that in the studio. AT LEAST if there's any good from this, is that I know I won't be spending my money on their music or concerts, which will let me go to other shows and buy other music to more deserving bands.
  10. I agree fully. they definitely have the ability to write great songs. Like personally Moving to Mars is a great written song and isn't over the top or anything. It's actually one of my favorite songs by them and I think of the best songs they've done since AROBTTH. So clearly I think it's not like they can't write or record good material. Though it's kind of fitting especially since Moving to Mars doesn't even make it on the album, and yet it's a great song.
  11. Yeah it makes sense, which also shows the fact that clearly it's about making more money and getting more fans at the price of keeping older fans. Honestly I have no intention of buying their new album or seeing them live. I agree, except the impression I get from making moves like these is just one of greed to get more money and appeal to a younger audience. It's really sad when you think about it.
  12. I can't choose because they're both so bad. ...It's like choosing if i'd rather be a comma or a full stop :dozey: :|
  13. The only thing that is a joke in relation to this thread is Coldplay ...zing. (but true)
  14. definitely not buying this song ...ever.
  15. you should maybe have a clear mind when listening to the band rather than easily accepting everything they release, which is clearly what you are doing with a stupid statement like "If you're a true Coldplay fan, appreciate everything they put out. If you can't do that, quit bitching and stop posting on this website." I love The Beatles and Radiohead more than any other band, but i'd never say I love or appreciate everything they put out, when clearly they have some bad songs.
  16. Obladi-Oblada life goes on
  17. come on eddie... let's be serious here.

  19. I really don't know how you don't think it's for record sales. This kind of song works perfect for a market for people that have similar pop tastes. I mean just look at the lyrics and the sound of the song. Also it's the excessive use of "oooohhhhh"'s like within Viva or how they use the same syllable over and over like in Teardrop, or how they look like they're a boyband from the 90's. They're trying so hard to be popular. It's seriously sad how low the band will go to get fans and sacrifice people that listened to them when they started. To be honest I have no intentions of buying any more albums by the band or seeing them live if this is the direction and mindset they're going to take.
  20. I agree. For a pop song song it's okay. But for coldplay it's just shit. Uttershit. I mean you listen to any song from their first two albums (including b-sides), and it's like a fucking joke. If people can't see that the band is trying to appeal to a younger crowd then they are just so misguided.
  21. That is true. but there is a big difference between changing your sound for creative reasons, and changing your sounds to gain more record sales and appeal to a younger audience.
  22. You suck. Sincerely, Me
  23. fuck this shit. I've had it with the band.
