I find it offensive to be honest.

Please don't even talk about lyrics when it comes to Coldplay.

Down is the New Up what is up buttercup?- Where does ETIAW fit among classic songs?
this song is so bad that it's amazing and better than any other song ever.- How do you be a comma and not a full stop
what a stupid lyric- The 9th Mixtape Exchange
i'm going to be sending out PM's tomorrow to people that haven't sent me mixtpaes yet- Radiohead
Feral is a great song. Honestly it's one song I keep going back to to listen to. I still think it's going to be like the Gloaming. It even sounds similar to the From the Basement version. Speaking of which the From the Basement performance is amazing... one of the highlights of their career. I'm really excited to hear the new songs live.- Where does ETIAW fit among classic songs?
umm... you forgot Freebird- Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
I'm not going to continue discussing because clearly I won't change your mind. Basically my point is the band has sold out to be popular rather than making quality music. If you listen to any song off Parachutes or AROBTTH (which is the band at their best, most creative and musical) and then you listen to the new song or Viva La Vida it's like a joke. I don't see how you can't see the band is trying to appeal to a younger audience with this new song, because it is so obvious. That's all there is to understand with the new song.- Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
Clearly you don't know me because I have given the band more than enough chances to come out w/ good music. And also I have seen the band 5 times (more than any other band). I just don't like the sound direction they've headed towards. For them less is more was an equation that worked best for them. The first two (and even 3rd album) worked extremely well because it was for the most part stripped down and was quality music. The last album and single is just all over the place I don't know what the band is trying to do anymore. Also I don't have to be a fan of everything the band releases. If the band released a song of just burping would you honestly think it's amazing just because it's by Coldplay? Also the band is human, and every band has songs or eras that are not good. So why make excuses for a band that has clearly lost their way? I think it's pretty ignorant to automatically like a song or album by a band just because it's who it's by. This is coming from a huge Radiohead fan who was initially very disappointed by their new album.- Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
Well you better pay up because I didn't get chills at all. The new songs are mediocre, nothing that blew me away at all or even made me want to listen to the song again. Also the reason why there were that many people is the fact that it's a festival so of course you're going to get a wide range of people. I can say I can form an opinion on the band based on their track record. The last album was very disappointing, and the new single sucks. Also I seriously think at this point they care more about appealing to younger crowds rather than try to produce more meaningful or emotional music as they did their first albums.- Radiohead
Basically a bet on how Feral will sound. She says it will be a piano song, I say it will be like The Gloaming No idea... they band has been so quiet there's been no word. The only thing we know of is the FTB performance. But it's weird because you'd figure it'd be a perfect time to play shows in the summer, but I guess they aren't.- What song is better? Every Teardrop is a Waterfall or Friday?
the_gloaming09 replied to the_gloaming09's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)wait... WAIT... this thread wasn't supposed to be serious? :| edit: also I don't like all the douche calling around even by my friends (maybe now supposed friends) on this forum. I'm gonna report y'all and get yo asses banned mofos!- Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
^that.- Which is your favourite new Coldplay song?
the_gloaming09 replied to busybeeburns's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)I like Us Against the World the most. But the rest of the songs I think are pretty mediocre to be honest.- The 9th Mixtape Exchange
So we're actually doing not too bad in terms of mixtapes coming in. There's only 9 people that haven't sent in mixtapes yet and the supposed "deadline" for that is later today. So send in your mixtapes to all the people that haven't yet.- New Coldplay eh?
I see what you did there.- New Coldplay eh?
That song Us Against the World is more towards the sound I want to hear. Just stripped down and not trying to be blown out of proportion. But I do like the song The only thing is that knowing how the band is, I find the title of the song extremely pretentious and full of themselves.- Rate 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' now!

you pretty much summed it up. I don't see how people can rate the song anything above a 6. I just feel a lot of them are so blinded by the band that they'll accept anything. I can even prove it because I mentioned that fans would accept a song of the band just burping and a they said they'd be interested to know how the song would be made. :inquisitive: it's ridiculous. Just because it's a song by a specific band they will like it regardless.- The 'negative' ETIAW discussion
I appreciate your comment back being that it's in depth and thought out rather than just a "you don't know what you're talking about" post. However I feel they have just abandoned their core fans from their first 2 albums. When you listen to VLV they sound like they are trying to achieve stadium or anthem songs. It's like they want to try so hard to be the biggest or most important band in the world. This is the impression I get from them. Whether it's the songs they've released recently or the outfits they wear or whatever you can tell they want fame so badly. It's disappointing because I feel as a fan of their first 3 albums that I've been abandoned. It's not even their sound change. there's been bands I love that change their sound, but I still love them. For them it hasn't been a success. I'll continue to listen to their first two albums (with b-sides), as well as about a handful of songs from the last two albums (with b-sides), but that's about it. I was hopeful the band would go back to their stripped down sound which worked so well for them, but I guess I was wrong.- Rate the new Coldplay song in 24 hours
