  1. maybe someone else should do it.............
  2. ^^ i did like the album but i see it as a decent collection of songs with the odd great track. much like grand national but not as great. whereas angus+julia and tame impala and eddy current have all made great album albums.
  3. According to Metacritic the best of 2010 so far has been Joanna Newsom : Average Score 85 after 34 reviews LCD Soundsystem : Average Score 85 after 31 reviews Flying Lotus : Average 87 after 23 reviews Sleigh Bells : Average 92 after 8 reviews The National : Average 85 after 30 reviews. good year so far. but no MPP-esque albums so far.
  4. i went back just before they closed and i found a few copies. havent put the album in yet but ive been streaming it all week and its up there alongside eddy current and angus+julia for aussie album of the year. and i could never work in JB. i dunno about brisbane and melbourne but in their sydney stores they have 5 different songs playing at the same time at full volume and im sure my music ego will get in the way and ill end up s******ing (supposed to say snig-gering) at everyone who buys a shit album.
  5. Florence and the machine have sold out 3 nights at the enmore this morning. A far cry from the single night she did at the metro 5 months ago. Only 1 jb hifi store in Sydney put the new tame impala on sale today, it's release date. Very very disappointed and kinda pissed off
  6. i think this year has already topped 2009 hardly 5 months in. so i would think its only right for them to hand out a few more BNM's.
  7. yeha i have also. my policy is basically there is nothing i can do if they have no interest in my music outside of the top 10 and what they usually listen to. i have much more musical-respect for people who do open their minds to other types of music and actually make an effort to listen to it properly. and people are still being "introduced" to coldplay??!??!
  8. haha yeah yeah i love the music too. i liked her music well before i discovered how hot she is.
  9. my two cents on the recording. i was at this festival but was watching another band while kasabian was on stage. i only caught the last few songs of their set. but from listening to this they didnt perform the songs as well as they could have. the singer seemed at times flat and lazy and his continuous attempts to get the crowd going were a little annoying. in my opinion a truly great live band doesnt need to rile up the crowd, if the music is good enough the crowd will react voluntarily. But Fire and Fast Fuse sounded great.
  10. Kasabian Orange Stage,Big Day Out 2010 Olympic Park Showgrounds, Sydney 22nd January Tracklisting 1. Underdog 2. Where Did All The Love Go? 3. Shoot The Runner 4. Empire 5. Fire 6. Fast Fuse 7. 11. why dont the lazy overpaid bastards just do an extra show!! damn them and their power over us simple people
  12. personally its her killer body that does it for me. check out her photos from Fader magazine. was going to post them on here but didnt think it was exactly appropriate.
  13. damn right shes hot!

  15. yeah it is for sure. good to hear band changing their sound but still sounding great. really pissed off at slash for upgrading his show to the stupid hordern!
  16. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCsca45wiFQ]YouTube- The Cat Empire - Feeling's Gone[/ame] a very different sounding cat empire. personally i love it.
  17. all the promo's for I Speak were advertising that it was her first of two albums for 2010. its quite rare for a record label of any sort to go out and make a commitment like that if its likely that it wont happen. but i just want her to release quailty material rather than something rushed.
  18. i guess for her it is quite easy to put a record together. she doesnt need the massive production work some rock bands need. all she needs are the guys from mumford and sons and her guitar and her voice and shes set.
  19. been listening to two new albums over the weekend. Dead Letter Circus - This Is The Warning obviously the tracks they've taken from their excellent EP's jump out at me as does their new single Big and the opener Here We Divide. the rest of it isnt anything spectacular but i see some longevity in this band. will give this album another week to grow on me property before i make a final decision Tame Impala - Innerspeaker been streaming this all weekend over myspace and holy shit it is frekn amazing. the sounds these guys have created are nothing short of stunning. it is solid basically all the way through but the only let downs at the moment i would say would be the lack of impressive musicianship and some rather questionable lyrics. otherwise i cannot get enough of it.
  20. well she is touring quite intensely through most of the european summer so im not really expecting anything before october or november. but she seems quite adamant to release another record this year.
  21. hey animal collective got a 9.6 i thought at least this deserved something not that far off.
  22. yeah i found it at jb hi fi they had all the ones in the jewel cases and this one red case sticking out so i picked it up to see what it was and then i remembered reading about a special edition of the album. i felt really tempted but decided against it in the end.
  23. oo wow. i was hoping for a 9.5 but 9.2 is pretty good and fairly rare. joanna newsom also got a 9.2. sound of silver got the exact same score.
  24. i recorded their triple j live at the wireless performance on sunday night. i will try to put it up sometime over the next week.
  25. wasnt a huge fan of their debut but absolutely loved the EP's they've made and cant enough enough of this second record. i was about to buy the leather bound edition of the album today it was only $30. but i thought i would wait for a bit. cant wait to go see them in august.
