well you cant be surprised. their highest charting album came in at no.182 on the billboard charts.

you know usually i hate it when members from my favourite bands run off to do pointless side projects (*cough*jackwhite*cough*) but in this case im actually quite enjoying this whole project, maybe because its members from 2 of my favourite bands together. but yeah bring on new radiohead. and australia's splendour in the grass is on the same 3 days as fuji rock and its line up is much much better.

^^ yeah ahha. ahhh i used to love that band. what the fuck happened!!

^^ basically what im asking is that is there venue bigger than the Corner but smaller than festival hall. i cant imagine them selling anymore than 1000 tickets to any show.

^^ is The Corner one level down from Festival Hall or is there a popular venue in between? because in sydney i can really only see them filling maybe the metro or big top luna park which hold about 1000 people.

^^ i dunno i get a real surfy vibe from tracks like Floating Vibes, Take It Easy and Neighbour Riffs. mind you this is coming from someone who lives 60km from the nearest beach so im not the most qualified to make that statement.

awesome news this morning on triple j lcd soundsystem and hot chip are doing double bill splendour sideshows. Monday July 26 - Hordern Pavilion, Sydney Thursday July 29 - Festival Hall, Melbourne plenty of space for second nights there.

loving the debut. good chance of getting a top 10 for 2010. it's one of those albums that really does have its moments rather than being spectacular throughout.

^^ but i can see alot of bands emulating the sound of in rainbows over the next 10yrs. and i dont see the pop sensibilities on in rainbows detracting from how innovative and ingenious the album is.

that video is from their jools holland performance in late 2009. im sure you will loads more of their live footage online. theyve gained alot of praise for their unique and interesting concerts.

^^ ok take its accessibility out of the picture. look at how the songs are structured, the crisp production on each and every track, and like i mentioned above the melodies and lyrics on most of the songs are undeniably poppy. but thats just how i see it.

^^ yeah i still think it is one of the most underrated songs of the decade. hope they start work on another record really soon, they're touring around their home country for the next few months so im sure they will be thinking about.

would of liked to of seen at least some pearl jam and rhcp's BSSM near the pointy end of the list but still they've covered most of the best stuff and alot of stuff i havent heard before. and there seems to be alot of anger at the emission of Kid A and Arctic Monkeys debut and rightfully so. and i couldnt find their 2009 album of their Merriweather Post Pavilion anywhere? one of the comments on the page put it very well in saying that there seems to be some sort of generational cringe when it comes to these albums lists, almost as if it is uncool to highly rate albums from the last few years. has anyone done their Readers Poll? achtung baby is coming first in the album poll and briggins, you would be pleased to know that i voted for Emily Haines in the Hottest Sex Goddess category but unfortunately that wasnt enough to get her in the top 5. but gwen stefani is winning that so its not all bad.

^^ i have an annoying habit of calling all venues/stadiums by their traditional name rather than any commercial titles, confuses alot of people but the hippie inside me refuses to say those corporate names.

not sure if hot is the right way of describing her. she was the cover star of SMH metro liftout on friday and she looked pretty stunning on there and her new vid for oh hark she does try for a hotter look. but i think the whole insanely cute thing suits her better. i should also make it known that i am from this point on wards boycotting JB hifi's MAG magazine for their immature and unprofessional treatment of Lisa's AMP win, twice on the same page!

i dont mean this as a criticism (it is one of my favourite albums of all time) but to me it is very much a pop album. it's melodic, somewhat romantic and most certainly accessible. i know pop is an evil word in the world of radiohead, but in my opinion it is very much relevant when we're talking in rainbows.

wooo she will be wonderful! her voice is a little quiet on stage and the instruments do sometimes drown out her vocals but other than that shes pretty decent live. and of course she aint too bad on the eyes either hehe
