The Middle East -A Fine Aussie Band
^^ debut album? are you talking about their mini-album called The Recordings of the Middle East? its actually just a compilation of all the songs they've recorded over the last 7 -8yrs. the first 5 tracks are from the EP of the same name and the other 3 are just random recordings. not sure when their debut LP will be out, they're quite busy conquering the world at the moment.

Powderfinger have announced they will hit the road one last time - before disbanding. In a press conference held at iconic Sydney venue the Annandale, they announced details of the Sunsets tour, which will include shows in 21 different cities across every state and territory and be stretched over a seven week period from early September through to late October. In a statement, the band said: "The 'Sunsets' tour will be Powderfinger's last ever run of shows. We have decided, after much deliberation and agonising, that after this final tour we will call it a day as a recording and touring band. With the completion of our last album, Golden Rule, we feel that we have said all that we want to say as a musical group. We firmly believe that it is our most complete and satisfying album and can't think of a better way to farewell our fans than with music that we all believe in and also with, hopefully, our best tour to date." They'll be joined on the tour by Jet and The Vines. Tickets go on sale 9.00am, Friday, 30 April, 2010. See below for more info, or check out Powderfinger's official website. Radiohead
nah haha i was just saying that there really arent any bands like pearl jam out there who do switch setlists so drastically so using they become the ultimate trump card in any debate about setlist. anyways doesnt matter now in your previous post you said that thom didnt really support the album sufficiently when it was first released. which basically proves the reason i gave before for why he is doing this now. back then he wasnt able to get the right people together at the right time to play his album live on stage. but now he does he is making the most of it. didnt Brian Wilson only start playing Pet Sounds they way it was meant to be, a few years ago?

australias obsession with pink is very disturbing. i also found it really interesting how the albums list is dominated by albums that came out early in the decade while the singles list has a far great representation of tracks from the last couple of years. kinda shows that the music industry isnt really struggling at all, its simply shifting from being album-centric to more single-centric.
-
Radiohead
mate you're not allowed to do that! you cant use pearl jam or anything associated with pearl jam in any debate relating to setlists. it is not fair. please find another example and come back.

Arcade Fire
yeah i just had a look at the line up for 2007 and they played the Other Stage on friday night at around 9-30PM just before Bjork who was the final act on that stage. not sure when they'll return to glasto. dont really see it happening this year as they've already signed up to reading and leeds and its very rare for a band to do both. and then next year is a gap year for glasto. so if they are still on the road in 2012 they might do that glasto (which is the year i plan to go to glasto!!)

Radiohead
im not too familiar with the tour thom did straight after the release of the eraser but im guessing that he wasnt able to reproduce the songs the way he wanted live on stage. so this was an opportunity to do that as well as perform on stage with people he really respects. it also gives him the chance to get out of the whole radiohead sphere and do something for himself. he has worked with the same 4 guys for the last 20yrs, a slight change in personnel is sometimes good (but nigel's presence keeps some radiohead-ness to the whole ordeal) flea wants to be a part of this because his own band has all but fallen apart. but i dont feel like going too much into this. there are a myriad of criticisms you can throw at RHCP (i, myself recently came up with about 50) but their songs sounding the same is most certainly not one of them.

Arcade Fire
thanks alot for that. it is undoubtedly the best non-headlining performance in glasto history. more incredible is the fact that they played the Other stage not the pyramid stage.
