'ello :)
Hello everyone, I'm new here (well, obviusly, hehe). I've been a coldplay fan ever since I first heard In My Place, so I bought the album A rush of blood to the head, and realised how awesome it was !! Then Parachutes followed, and the newest one X&Y, and ever since then I was searching for songs such as B-sides or those played only live, and came across quite a few of them :) In my opinion, some of those less known songs are one of the best songs from Coldplay. Oh and, can't wait for the next album :nice:

Thanks :) The quote is from Coldplay - Crests of Waves, not a very well known song of theirs (I think it was a B-side or something), but it's one of my favorite ones. Oh and, 8 for your sig :)

Audiosurf- ride your music!
Anyone heard of this one? It's a game that came out recently, very unique and different from anything else. The thing is, you load any song that you have in the game, and it will generate a track according to the rythm of the song. The goal is to collect colored bricks and make a 'cluster' made out of 3 bricks of the same color. But there are other modes, such as Mono, where you evade gray bricks and collect colored ones. It is so great because not only that the road bumps according to the rythm and it goes faster with faster songs, but also the bricks come in key song parts, so it all looks extremely accurate with the song. What is even more amazing, there is no team behind this game, it was all done by one single person! Finally a chance to experience how is it to 'play' a Coldplay song ^^ Here's some screenshots: http://www.maxkiesler.com/images/uploads/audiosurf.png http://www.critical-hits.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/12/audiosurf_igf_screenshot1_600.jpg I played the demo(you can play 5 songs in the demo) and it seems really fun, a good game to relax with. If anyone is interested, here is where I found the demo: http://www.fileplanet.com/184029/180000/fileinfo/Audiosurf-Demo Also important, the game is not availible in stores, only way to buy it is over Steam on the internet, and the game price is I think 10$. Totally worth it IMO

Any song writers out there?
Yeah I see what you mean, writing songs is really a lot more difficult than I thought it would be, especially if you try to put in many different instruments (drums, bass etc). I guess, besides lots of knowledge on how to incorporate all those elements, you really need a moment of inspiration to write a good song. I myself never wrote a whole song, started playing the guitar only about a year ago, and I didn't take any lessons at all, a friend of mine just introduced me with the basics, and the rest I tried to learn on my own. He, on the other hand, is a song writer, so I know first hand how much effort you need to put in a song to make it sound good. Good lyrics are only the first step.

I've heard Violet Hill: my opinion
Ehm, not exactly, hehe, ''viva'' means ''long live'', so it would be ''long live Coldplay''. ;)

Spies
Yeah, Spies is a great song indeed. I guess it tells about freedom, how on the beggining you feel so insecure and afraid, and on the end, trying to escape to somewhere, but eventually see that you are the one in control of your life. But on the end, as ricardo said, it can refer to just about anything, the media, corporations etc

Help Is Round The Corner tab
Hello everyone, Well, I started playing the guitar a while back, so I'm not really good enough to determine the chords by myself, so I'll need some help on this one, heh. On the net I found some chords, they said it goes C/Am/C/Am throughout the song, and the chorus is F/D. Well it didn't sound that bad when I tried playing it, but the D there just seemed to be out of place. I did a slight modification (put a Capo on 1), so the first part ( C/Am/C/Am) sounds perfectly accurate with the Coldplay recording now, but I still need help with the chorus part?
