  1. As a Brit, I was honestly a tad miffed that they decided to tour the states first, but ultimately, who cares? The important thing is that you have a ticket. Would you rather see them early in an under-rehearsed, half-assed show, or do you want to see them bring their A-game? My tickets say December 10th - all the more time to fall in love with the album and prepare myself for the magic balls! Chill out, won't you?!!
  2. Ok, twice on this page, people have not put a "-" sign by In My Place, but its score has still gone down by one. Have people been posting at the same time???
  3. I can't vote again until we get a new page... but do I see "Trouble" making a late surge???
  4. Sorry, I think it's pants by comparison to Speed of Sound 62 Fix You 20 Talk 31 Speed of Sound (+) 08 Swallowed in the Sea (-)
  5. He does the "smoldering eyes" thing so well...
  6. I'll get back to you with my opnion when I've heard it... only three days to go!!!:laugh3:
  7. I saw a poll on here before asking people to say whether it was Chris or Guy - to me they sound nothing alike. I could kind of see how Will & Jonny sound similar, maybe even Will & Chris, but Guy's Scottish!!! (He's not got the thickest of accents, but even so...) Still, I'm particularly keen to hear SS, I've heard SO much about it... and the added mystery just adds to the anticipation!!!
  8. Haven't heard it yet (I vowed to wait until release day and it's killing me!!!) So who do you think it is talking at the beginning of the track?
  9. I admire your faith, Age Six Racer, and I hope I'm wrong, but I've become very cynical about these things after all of the recent scandals. And just reading the posts on here it sounds as though the Beeb has moved the goalposts several times. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though! :)
  10. For some reason, I've had "How You See The World" going round in my head all day... and I've not heard it for ages!
  11. I'm sure those were the T & C's for that Blue Peter competition that they faked... and all the ones on Radio 1... and I'm sure it's organised by the same department that rigged all those phone votes...
  12. We could just get rid of Yellow & Trouble and give the title to Shiver instead :wink3:
  13. Well said, frostbitepanda (and another great username!)
  14. It would be typical of the BBC's arrogance to give you one chance to pick up the phone. Honestly, crazyduckette, I wouldn't stress about it. That audience will be full of BBC employees. (Great username by the way!):)
  15. Well that goes to show how useless they are then - I didn't bother trying in the end because it initially said you had to be in the first 250. And who can stand by their phone all day? Don't they realise people have jobs to go to? We're not all BBC "stars" paid millions of pounds a year for 2 hours work per week. I can hardly say to my pupils - "You're not allowed your mobile phones on but I am, 'cos I'm waiting for a call from the BBC!"
  16. Is that score right? If you're not adding/subtracting from "In My Place", shouldn't its score still be 11?
  17. Sorry, posted at the same time as Calumintechnicolor Revised score 64 Fix You 17 Talk 32 Speed of Sound + 8 Swallowed in the Sea -
  18. 24 Amsterdam 24 Politik 21 The Scientist 17 A Rush of Blood to the Head 12 Clocks (-) 11 In My Place (+)
  19. Personally I like the clothes, and one of the reasons I prefer Coldplay over bands like Oasis is that they put some thought in to the extras, like costume. Oasis look like every other band out there, Coldplay stand out from the crowd (And I'm sure they have dozens of changes of clothing)
  20. I think everyone's too excited about the new album to settle the score on this one...
  21. I doubt anyone who doesn't work for the BBC will get in. I went on the website at 10.25 and there was no mention of the concert. I kept hitting "refresh" and at about 10.28 the website completely crashed - couldn't get back on to it until over an hour later, by wihch time there was no point trying. Just another Beeb swizz
  22. Not heard SS, but definately agree with the VH reference. Funnily enough, I was watching the Live DVD today, and Guy was being interviewed about his musical influences and he mentioned Genesis, in a guilty pleasures kind of way
  23. I've drooled over all the new photo's... I don't think it's ever going to grow on me (I think the problem is it's too big) Still, no one is perfect, but he comes damn close!!!
  24. I'm sure his last birthday, he turned 30. Mid-life crisis may be a bit strong, but my boyfriend did start wearing some really ridiculous clothing when he turned 30, like he was clinging to his youth. It can be a strange time... (I'm pleased to say he is now dressing in an age appropriate way again)
  25. Wow... finally a review that doesn't mention Gwyneth and keeps the U2 talk to a minimum!
