  1. He has an earring in his left ear in all the new photo's. Maybe he's feeling his age now he's turned 30...?
  2. I liked the stuff that made the charts from Parachutes but never got round to listening to the album. Then I heard "In My Place" and fell in love with that guitar riff... I played it constantly for two weeks then heard Chris Martin talking about the song, and Jonny, and was just really moved by his passion for his music. It was so refreshing to hear a "pop star" talk with such intelligence and sensitivity. When I heard the rest of the band speak, I was equally impressed. They're the real deal in a world full of fakes and that's why I love them.
  3. Great poll question!!! I haven't heard Life In Technicolour yet, but I voted for Politik anyway, and that will still probably be the case on Thursday after finally hearing the new album. Politik was such a surprise the first time I heard it - so loud, so bold, but with that haunting refrain at the end "Give me love over this..." Also, it's the very first song I heard them do live, so I'm probably a bit biased...
  4. Yes, love them. Inspired by Hotplay007... the next person SHOULD be busy with something important but is putting it off by hanging out here...
  5. Not heard the new album yet - I'm waiting for the official release - so I'm going with an oldie. Was watching the Tour Diary on the Live DVD today and loved that rocky version of Trouble. That gets my pick I've also been listening to their live version of "You Only Live Twice" a lot recently - not technically a Coldplay song, but their cover was fab!!!
  6. So, from the hair and the jacket (and that earring - please let him lose that earring soon!), these are obviously new pics: where are they from? Still totally gorgeous (even with the earring!). Does he ever have an ugly day?!!
  7. 47 Yellow (-) 47 Trouble (+) Maybe we should just call it an honourable draw...
  8. Where is that picture from? I'm a complete techno-phobe: is it a screen-cap or screen-shot (I don't even know if those are real words?)
  9. Oh yeah, there are three other guys in the band, right? Those guys, too. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrggghh!!! When are they going to get the credit they deserve or are the media just going to change the bands name to "Chris Martin & The Other Three"??!
  10. Chick-what?
  11. I've ordered the album from I-Tunes, but I'm also getting the vinyl version. I still love holding an album in my hands, reading the cover notes, looking at the photos etc. Everytime I buy a physical copy of some new music I still get the same rush of excitement I did when I was a kid... not sure I'll ever be able to go digital entirely
  12. I couldn't believe some of the criticism I heard about this video. I too imagined some kind of Victorian snow scene - guess that's why I'm not a video director. The video we got is much less obvious, but has some really striking images - the hammer, the magnifying glass. I love the overall look too - the clothes, the colours etc. And I have to say, while I have previously declared my undying love for the Berryman, they all look pretty damn fine in this video!
  13. I need to wash my hair, so I'll wait until after
  14. I marked the release date on the calendar in my kitchen and have been counting the days. Other than Violet Hill and Viva La Vida, I've not heard any of the new stuff. I've been recording bits off the TV & radio to listen to once I've heard the album in full, rather than hearing it in bits and pieces, and avoided the stuff on the 'net. The band have said in interviews that it's supposed to be heard in it's entirety - and they agonised over the running order. I'm respecting their plans... and it's killing me!!!
  15. Oh my God... I forgot to mention Shiver
  16. 51 Yellow [-] 43 Trouble [+]
  17. I'm sorry, I've just watched it again, and I still don't understand what everyone is so upset about. Given the context, it was a solid performance - what do you people expect from what is essentially a 3 minute promo on a tv show? No wonder Guy had butterflies in rehearsals - goodness knows how he'll feel if he reads some of the stuff posted here!
  18. Just seen the performance and I really don't get the criticism. I thought it was great, considering it was to a bunch of people who've never heard the track before, and the segment was produced by MTV. I'm sure the "magic balls" will be much more interesting than the confetti MTV tried to drown them in, but what you have to remember is it was an MTV production. Coldplay will have had little say in the "look" and will have been limited to what they could do with live instruments. And they were much better off doing Viva La Vida - I love Violet Hill as much as the next person, but it's really not a "party" song that would fit in at a glitzy Hollywood awards bash. The boys done good!!!
  19. + In My Place - Clocks 21 Amsterdam 21 Politik 19 The Scientist 18 A Rush of Blood to the Head 17 Clocks 13 In My Place
  20. I can't believe Swallowed in the Sea is still in there... There are no Coldplay songs that I actually hate... but that one comes close!
  21. Maybe that's Zane Lowe's big announcement tonight? Or could they be refering to the Brixton gig?
  22. Is this debate ever going to end???
  23. I don't have a scanner - sorry :( But you could try the Q website: www.q4music.com
