  1. i actually love the new songs except the singing could have been better at some points (Stawberry, 42 slow part, Death slow part, Escapist) it's not so u2ish as i read here and here, no ripp-off tentatives that i noticed other than Chinese Sleep Chant witch sounds like some My Bloody Valentine tune , and i like its noisy rock feels my favorites are Lost!, Yes and Lovers in Japan, the production gets a bit cheesy on the slow parts of the 'double tunes' (witch was a bad idea as the songs doesn't match) but i really like the big wide Enoesque sound of the album
  2. depends on the pressing... the quality of some actual vynils is a shame i had the problem with The Killers 'Saw Dust' double LP, the sound became so shitty in the end of both discs that i stopped listenning to it same with recent titles from many artists the very end of the pressing is fucked up ....you can see it on the surface near the middle it never happens with old pressings from Emi or Columbia witch sounds stellar on my stereo tha only artits that i care a bit who still sort decent LPs in terms or SQ are Metallica, the re-pressings of their eighties LPS are awsome that said the Japan pressings of VLV LP might sounds a bit better, quality of Japan releases has crossed ages
  3. fantastic game! strongest performance from Holland by far in this euro
  4. for trezeguet, i think it's a relationship problem, they both hate each others i don't understand why he didn't take Mexes and Flamini over Boomsong and Diarra, at least as substitutes by the way, maybe the ultimate game agaisnt Italy is gonna be decisive :D
  5. crapiest game of the euro so far...the Romanian team refused to play and our team did'nt find the way to shake things, seemed to me that there was no rythm...this group s gonna be very tigh
  6. here we go! in about 1 hour..... i bet on 2-1 for France against Romania, one goal from Benzema and a penalty from Ribery...for one goal from Chivu (some corner maybe) i hope our defense will be OK on both free kicks, corners allez les bleus!!!!!
  7. so live songs allowed...it doesn't seem too strict i think, i like that :dozey: after all, the boys play those gigs to tease us before the release that said, i 've stopped listen to the mobile phone video of jimmy kennel show because that screaming girl was way too freaky:laugh3:
  8. so be it folks:cool: well....are we gonna put an ear on jimmy kennel show or some other live 'leakish' stuff until the D day ...or is it a complete embargo? :D
  9. count me in ;-) i ll give it's first play on the real CD when it comes out ...with all the ceremonial that comes with, having the booklet & insert in hands, decent stereo, drinks ect...
  10. great show, LIJ is awsome in its form the direct stream on Whatson was also 64kbps/48KHZ? or higher bitrate maybe?
  11. thx man! primal scream now? i think it works:)
  12. i think it won't play anywhere outside the UK unless someone is tryin to set-up a shoutcast server to redirect the stream worldwide anyway some good links may come quickly after the show
  13. i don't remember how it works for all the mirror tech stuff but.... maybe someone could redirect the stream, for people outside the UK? would be great if we all listen live
  14. damn, i knew it.. always though VLV was a song about U2's frontman :D
  15. fastfood pop music style overproduced...thanks god Timbaland didn't get the job for VLV
  16. i would say : the percussion loop on "lost!" as prewied on play.com, (along with the orgue and Jonny's guitar at the end)...my favorite part so far mindbowing, i've never heard this kind of stuff from the band, in terms of rythm (and this is "just" a ballad or some mid-tempo thing) i like the lyrics on VLV, these put the song to another level
  17. oups:P...yeah, with the number of new threads each day, i haden't noticied this one...sorry dudes!
  18. Could VLV be their 'Achtung Baby'? with the Eno Thing, the fact is that we WILL have lots of Unforgettable Fire/U2 comparisons from critcs from what we ve heard so far, i don't think there's a real 'sound like' with the 1984 album, UF is too much eighties marked (the keyboards, the drums) and has nothing to do with 2008 Coldplay...except that they have the same producer i would much more agree for an "Achtung Baby" comparison, not in terms of production itself (AB is soo much darker than anything) but in the way the Bands are pushing their limits, the limits of their sound...and are throwing away some tricks, gimmiks and overseen habits.... the thing happens approximatly in the same pèriod of both artists carreers, 10 years after their débuts (1980>1992 for U2, 1998>2008 for Coldplay) and after they both "have ruled the world" in terms of sales...with the same amount of lovers/haters i personnaly think that Chris & his mates have undertstand that they are not Under-Radiohead or Under-U2 or Under-anything...they have come to a point where they HAVE to break with the falsetto thing, the lanscinant piano melodrama and some other 'déjà vu' aspects of their music...and stick to the essence of their music with a different way of thinking their sound, just like the irish did by burning the Joshua tree in 1992 so that makes me come to the conclusion, unless the rest of the album is complete crap, that the boys can become even bigger thant they are, for the critics, the people and even some of their bashers
  19. i first though VLV was completly crap after few listens it reminds me of the Alizée tune (posted yesterday) or som kind of advert music for shampoo or something i still think it's crap, but the melody stays in mind and the good thing is that the song makes me want to go clubbing DJ's could have fun remixing it

  22. Hi for the painting, the Title in French is "La Liberté guidant le peuple" it's a 1830 Delacroix, it can be seen at the Louvre Museum in Paris, it was also displayed on the 100 Fr banknotes and some postal stamps
