Well I came into this thread out of curiosity, to see what people say about this matter. To be honest, I myself have two really close mates, and one of them is always like hugging me and stuff recently (which his girlfriend used to hate!!) , because we don’t see each other as often. At first I thought it was weird and thought he shouldn’t really do it in front of other people, but then again, everyone knows we are really close, so it didn’t matter. And same with my other mate, he even kisses me sometimes, but in no way we do this because we are attracted to each other!!!! That’s just a ridiculous and very silly idea! I don’t think a loving and caring relationship between close friends could mean they actually love each other in that way!!! It’s the same with Chris and Jonny. If you watch the 2003 live DVD for instance, they show a glimpse of all four of them in a nice sunny day looking towards the camera talking to each other, with their backs to the stage, and Chris kissed Jonny in the lips (or at least that’s what it seems they did)!!!! But again, that doesn’t mean they love each other in that way. I suppose their friendship is more like a brotherly relationship. Very close, but not too close!! If you see what I mean!! :D (sorry if I went into too much personal stuff. Just trying to give you an idea!!)
  2. ah that’s great! Well done lads. I hope Chris feels a bit better now; he was well gutted after the brits!!:anxious:
  3. Wow this is so cool! congrats to Simon and his wife :). I actually think Chris WILL be the child’s godfather, as the friendship between him and Simon is really close and Simon is apple and moses’ godfather. So I suppose its sort of inevitable and expected. But we’ll see what happens!
  4. Yeah exactly. I suppose this was the last time I watched the brits, and hopefully the last time the boys turned up at the ceremony. Coldplay are just becoming too big for them and the brits don’t even deserve to have our wonderful Coldplay playing a their award show. But now me and my mate are saving up to get tickets for when they come to Old Trafford. I just wanna go there and sing along to all the songs and show the boys how much we love them, no matter what they win or not win. For us they are still the best and biggest band in the whole universe!! :P And by the way, welcome to the thread ;)
  5. I think what Debs said is right, BUT, for us who actually live in the UK it is much more disappointing than others. Because its one of the most anticipated events and the hype here is unimaginable and we watch it live on TV and we expect it to be great and etc. Its like the british version of Grammys for us. So I think some of you should be more understanding of the fact that we are far more pissed off!
  6. That would never happen! The brits have this filthy habit when they never recognise bands or people who are generally very very huge, Coldplay or U2 for instance. The reason you saw pet shop boys tonight is because they aren’t active anymore and basically not as big and popular. But in 2020, Coldplay will probably be even more successful and bigger ;)
  7. Im telling you, Coldplay should never ever go to the brits again. why would they anyway?! When they’ve been disrespected so much!! :veryangry2:
  8. I have never been so fuckin pissed off in my life! I want to go and kill everybody at earls court :veryangry2:
  9. Im not gonna be able to sleep tonight!!!
  10. This is just so outrageously unfair and stupid. I never ever thought our guys wouldn’t win anything!!!! :veryangry2:
  11. This is just so outrageously unfair and stupid. I never ever thought our guys wouldn’t win anything!!!! :veryangry2:
  12. This is a fuckin joke rite?!! What on earth is wrong with Brit awards?! Guys, don’t you think we should ask the band no to appear at the Brits ever again? cuz that’s what Leona lewis is doin.
  13. Ah that’s just brilliant. Now I wish I was in America at this time!! Can someone pleeeeeaaaaaasssseeeee record it!! We beg you!! :D

Im just hoping it would actually be something genuinely exciting! So we wont be disappointed. A live DVD or a new song or new tour dates for England would be a nice treat!!:D
  15. haha!! yeah true!! i forgot the kid is only 15!!:D I used to know a lot of people like him in high school!!! Typical bored British kids!!:P
  16. Well about the video, I have to say it was one of the most biased and unpersuasive videos ever! The guy clearly knew what he was talking about, but for people who actually know music and play instruments, using big words and complicating scenarios would not have an effect. But what was interesting, is that he claimed the whole song is similar, by trying to persuade us that the chords he was playing on the guitar were the chords used in Viva La Vida, specially the begging of the song and frankly, as I expected, they sounded very different. I couldn’t believe it! First, satriani said the bit where Chris is singing is similar, and now, his fans are claiming everything you can hear in that song is similar! Just utterly pathetic. The guy is comparing something played on strings to what HE believes is the same thing on the guitar. Now, let me tell you, I am a huge and dedicated fan of Coldplay and truth be told, there IS a similarity between the two songs, BUT only seconds; and that’s when Chris Martin is singing, which sounds a bit similar to satriani’s guitar chorus, and that’s just a coincidence. I play guitar myself and indeed im doing Law in college, and in all fairness, satriani doesn’t have sufficient evidence to back up his story. And can I ask you something: don’t you think it’s a bit childish to run after the band in the Grammys?! Do you consider that professionalism in today’s music world? I think anyone would see that as seeking attention.
  17. oh god!! A big big NO!! Audioslave
  18. Sorry to disappoint you guys, but its neither Jonny nor Guy singing at around 1:27. Its actually Brian Eno!! And trust me on this! It IS Brian!! But the song is so friggin wicked and I really LOVE it! I don’t care if it sound different to their usual stuff. I’ve been a fan since 2000 and anything they give out I’d appreciate and love, even if its different or to the opinion of others, shit! Juts try to enjoy it guys!! :)
  19. Well, there are two factors to his comments. First, I think its fair to say that he wouldn’t have been the only executive of a record label who thought they’d rather not sing the boys. As mentioned before, at the time Alex James saw them they weren’t exactly chart toppers, but then again, no new band who have just started making music ever is!!!! Secondly, although I think we shouldn’t criticise him because he didn’t sign them, I think Alex James seems to be extremely unhappy and jealous that Coldplay are very successful! His comments sound very bitter and big-headed, especially to us Coldplay fans. It seems like he knows that Coldplay are much bigger and better than Blur ever was, but he doesn’t want to accept that fact. WHAT?!! HAHAAHA:lol: I was both very frustrated but yet amused by this guy’s comments!! I’m sorry, but how the f*** do you let yourself to call them “ordinary”. “Although the singer is good”!!! Pay attention to the fact that he calls Chris “the singer”!!! How ironic!! He knows Chris is such a huge figure and yet he calls him “the singer”. But hey, at least the guy knows he probably made the biggest mistake of his life!!
  20. GREAT NEWS!:) new coldplay Documentary! "Coldplay: DVD Collector's Box (2 Disc)" is probably the most complete and informative documentary about Coldplay ever! The DVD was due to come out on 24th of November, but frankly it doesn’t seem to be out or lets say available yet! Us fans in the UK can pre-order it (yes, pre-order! Even though we’ve actually gone past November it still says pre-order!!) from here : http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/7138927/Coldplay-DVD-Collector-Box/Product.html# I suppose people elsewhere can get it from Amazon or even probably e-bay!

Good news guys! after hours and hours of listening to this song non-stop on full volume and trying to extract the lyrics out without the music and inspecting it carefully, I have come up with the lyrics! Now It might not be exactly what Chris sings and so there could be bits that everybody is unsure about, but this version is probably the best anybody could come up with:P: Rainy day Then there was dream The sky wore a veil of gold and green At night it was the bright of the moon with me Time was just floating Then there was rain The sound foundations are crumbling To the ground comes a bit of a tumbling And time was just floating We can watch it and stay And we can listen Oh rainy day, come 'round Sometimes i just want it to slow down And we're separated now And down But i love when you come over to the house I love it when you come over to my house Then there was rain, I spent the night with the queen of Spain My lonely little heart would've broke again Time’s so vicious Say "So then the deeper than the knife goes in, the more you win You end up with less than when you begin. Deeper than the knife goes in..." Oohhh! Oh rainy day, come 'round Sometimes i just want it to slow down And we're separated now And down But i love when you come over to the house I love it when you come over to my house ahahahahahahahahaaaaaa ahahahahahahahahaaaaaa ahahahahahahahahaaaaaa But i love when you come over to the house I love it when you come over to my house
  22. i really think this scally chaver needs to grow up! i really respect his brother Liam though becuase first of all, HE is the brain behind oasis and he's a much nicer and down to earth guy. which of course explains his close friendship with chris!:smug:
  23. "Starsailor were one of the first bands to pioneer the sound that was later adopted by Coldplay and Snow Patrol." now that is really annoying! i find it very rude when their stupid writer says coldplay adopted Starsailor's sound! that is just out of order. first of all, this is the first time i've heard this band's name and secondly, coldplay was formed in 1997, whereas starsailor was formed in 2000!!!! so how could that possibly be?!! its clearly the other way round. coldplay paved the way for bands such as them or keane or snow patrol. get a life Mrs. Atiyyah Khan or whatever ur name is! and i suggets you go out a bit more.
  24. to be honest guys, i think chris looks way better with short hair. he looked more of a rock star back in the days of AROBTTH, with the all-black clothes! im hoping he is gonna keep it short:thumbsup::wacky:
  25. now this is your third time posting rubbish in this discussion. the people here love coldplay and their music, so why don't you just f*** off?! well if you hate them, just go away! we dont want to hear all this bull**** from you oasis fans. you are all as rude as all them gallagher family(who indeed lived down here in manchester and used to rub cars and be "chavs")!:veryangry2:
