Viva La Vida... demos thread
these songs are absolutely genius! and guys i think no one should even ask any questions from oracle about this matter. it would just spread it around and make it more complicated. im pretty sure if the band find out about this they'll be pretty pissed off. basically im just saying we should keep it quite. dont even bring it up in front of others in the live shows coming up. and lets just delete this whole thread tomorrow. lets just forget these songs ever existed. put them in ur ipod, listen to them everyday, but DONT spread it around. at the end of the day, we owe a duty of care to the band we all love dont we?

"Strawberry Swing" video - RELEASED! (20th July 2009)
guys I know the video looks pretty awesome , but somehow I feel it doesn't really go with strawberry swing. I do admit its probably a bit too early to judge it cuz we’ve not seen the whole thing yet, but strawberry swing is such a beautiful and dreamy song that I always thought the video should be shot in a huge green field in Scotland, with the sun out shining, and two lovers holding hand and running around a swing, with beautiful butterflies flying around. in my mind this song is THAT dreamy!!:P now I just wish there was no video made for it at all! videos do change your perspective towards songs u know!

Oasis singer Liam Gallagher lets rip into Coldplay's dresscode
I read this in M.E.N today while sitting on the bus on my way back! its just astonishing how he could easily get away with insulting anyone as he pleases! one thing people outside Manchester don’t know about oasis is that the two brothers used to rob cars nd everythin! when they were much younger of course! there was also some rumour that the police were still trying to charge them with several offences even after they launched their music career! trust me guys, they are the scum of Manchester! no one actually likes ‘em here cuz people know what a bunch of douche bags they are!!
-
Confirmed: Coldplay singer a jerk
what an absolute douchebag!! you cant be more of an asshole really! HAHAHA guys I just realized, im not being racist or anything, but doesn't he look like a Mexican illegal immigrant ?! his name suggests it too!! look at him!!!

Your Ranking of Coldplay Albums & Why...
1– A Rush Of Blood To The Head— This is not just the best Coldplay album, but in my opinion the best album ever produced. Not only is it so unbelievably full of emotion and astonishing lyrics, the album as whole is the only one out of the four with the most cohesion. This album turned my life around and it has my all time favourite songs in it and it’s the one I can connect to the most. just an absolute masterpiece! Everything about this album is superb and I LOVED Chris's voice in there more than in any other work of theirs. I cant really pick the best songs in here cuz I’m obsessed with every single on of them and literally cant live my life one day without listening to them!! There are no low points and unlike what some people say here, I actually think A Whisper is an astounding song! My biggest dream ever is Coldplay going back to the old days and make an album like this! but with all their commercial success, I don't think the quality will ever come back!:\ I can carry on forever expressing my love for this album but I think its enough now:P I cant be bothered putting an explanation for the others, so I just put them in order 2– X&Y— 3–Viva la Vida— (dont kill me for this!!:D) 4–Parachutes—

Gwyneth...
your welcome:) I bought the magazine just for this; otherwise im not really an OK! fan to be honest, so don't assume I am one!!:D I’m sick of celebrities and jade goody! its as if she is the only one with cancer in this whole country!:dozey: and yet we have to see her face everyday in papers and magazines!:(

Gwyneth...
Gwyneth Paltrow finally speaks out! (exclusive interview in the latest issue of OK! magazine) Gwyneth finally talks about her marriage and the difficulties that come with it. she also reassures us there’s no thoughts of splitting going on, and that she’s never walked the red carpet with Chris, and never will!! Read it thoroughly and enjoy!

U2
Well guys, about 3 days ago I posted my opinion about the album here, and I gave it a 3 out of 5. But now, all I can say is WOW!! I really really LOVE some of the songs in there. Magnificent, no line on the horizon, breathe, I’ll go crazy if I …….., get on your boots and FEZ- being born are all fantastic songs!! At the moment I give it a 4 out of 5. but im sure I’d like it even more after giving it more listens. I have no clue why I didn’t like it during the first 3 listens! It could be because it sounds quite different to any U2 record in the past. Did any of you experience the same thing?

Coldplay VS...?...huh
Well I finished high school just about a year ago, so let me tell you why people here in UK diss Coldplay. Well, there are several reasons for it. First, the fact that I live in Manchester, which is probably the most dangerous and violent city in Europe, and therefore, nearly the whole school is usually populated by 15 year olds who swear at each other as a hobby and mostly listen to 50 cent or lil’ wayne rapping about guns and killing people!!! So hating Coldplay is sort of expected!!! The second reason is the fact that Coldplay aren’t cool here. Why you might think?! Because they are too successful, very polite middle-class boys and aren’t exactly your ordinary rock stars who do drugs and spend a lot of their time drinking or harassing others!! The third reason is that in this country people have a habit of hating others who are generally very successful. Whether its your next door neighbour, a rock band/star or even members of your own family and friends!! Its as if you need to have a negative factor and cant prove to be too good, or much better than others. There are of course other reason for hating them; for instance, I asked one of my mates why he hated them, and he replied saying “because if you go to their gig people don’t throw bear bottles at each other and no one gets into a fight”!!!! He said they are “too boring and too polite”!!!! (typical mancunian guy obviously!!!) You’d never really feel and know how and why people hate them here until you actually come and live within the society! But I was never ever ashamed or embarrassed by liking Coldplay, and never will be, and I also make sure everyone who I encounter with knows I absolutely love and adore them and that they have to respect them, or else they get their heads smashed in!! I always try to respect people’s opinions and admirations, and therefore I expect the same treatment. That’s the way it should be! So from now on don’t be scared or embarrassed of what you like or you don’t. Show people you are the one who sets the rules not them ;) (being a big guy obviously helps!:D)

U2
Im afraid I have to agree with mc_squared mate! First of all, we are not bashing U2 for any reason. And do you know what I find amusing? The fact that some people can come here and say “we don’t like viva la vida” or “coldplay this coldplay that”, but then if WE say anything negative about U2 and their new album, you guys start a huge argument over why we’ve slightly criticized them or their music!!! Personally I think it WAS a mistake that Bono called Chris a wanker on live radio, and even worse, on BBC2!! However, I still do acknowledge the fact that it was supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek joke. Now, me rating No Line on The Horizon 3 out of five had absolutely nothing to do with Bono’s comments, but rather personal taste in music; so don’t get me wrong, cuz im a huge U2 fan myself. So can everyone just stop criticizing Bono for what he said AND criticizing hardcore Coldplay fans including me for defending the boys!!! Go and have some Smirnoff Ice, it might help guys!!:D

U2
I just received the album from Amazon this morning. I’ve listened to it three times and to be honest, I was expecting it to blow me away, but it just didn’t! And this is coming from a huge U2 fan who grew up listening to U2 (and Coldplay for the past 7 years :P). The album as a whole is very average by U2 standards and feels like it couldn't be more non-U2! All the traits that make U2 who they are is not present and the rhythm and tunes just aren’t there!! I think the album should be divided into two parts; because nearly half of it is absolutely brilliant, including songs such as “Magnificent”, “Get on your boots” and “FEZ-Being born”, but the other half is just terribly average and what appears to be re-working of previous material. After not giving out anything for five years and all the hype and excitement, I have to say I am disappointed. I’ll give the album a 3 out of five. In today’s world of music bands are graded by what they can do now, at the present, not what they did 20 years ago!! However, I DO confess that I still am a huge U2 fan and their admirer. Although I’m just hoping they call this album their last shot, and leave the music scene before it’s too late! We don’t want them to be ridiculed like rolling stones do we?!!:anxious:

Brian Eno And Alan McGee Have Angry Exchange On Twitter Over Coldplay
Hahaha!! I actually find this quite amusing cuz it just shows how incredibly childish, rude, foul-mouthed, spoiled and disgustingly unbearable Alan McGee and everyone who he associates with, including the cunt bastards Oasis is!! Its unbelievable when we see these kind of people still exist in today’s music! I bet when McGee posted this on twitter he was pissed out of his head and has just finished doing cocaine with Liam Gallagher while w****** him off!! What an absolute twat! (Sorry about my language! I’m just really angry about this!!)

U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
Exactly my thoughts mate! Don’t worry I think we should just leave it:)

U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
Well first of all, Coldplay have been a band for nearly 13 years, so it would take less than 20 years!!! And trust me mate, im not slagging off U2. in fact im a big U2 fan myself, but I think we should be able to come to terms with the fact that Coldplay ARE considered as big, successful and musically genius as U2. At the moment they are much bigger than what U2 was after giving out 4 albums. I’ve listened to every single U2 song ever, and I feel as if I can connect to Coldplay’s songs considerably more than I can to U2’s (which is why I prefer them by miiiiiles!) ; but then again, that’s just personal a view. So although I know accepting that Coldplay has achieved a huge success and recognition in music and that they are a threat to U2, I think its fair to recognise that! AND, UK isn’t just “just one isolated area” and Coldplay are huge everywhere, not just UK mate!!!;)

U2 singer Bono apologises after foul-mouthed insult of Coldplay's Chris Martin
Well before you get all emotional and defend Bono, try to get the facts right. The idea behind that character in life in technicolor ii video swearing was the director's. Chris and the rest weren’t even there for the shooting as they were too busy touring in America and back here at home. They didn’t even know what Dougal Wilson was gonna do for the video and the closest person representing the band at the recording was Phil. So the band themselves did not have any effects on the outcome. And one more thing. Please DO expect hardcore Coldplay fans like myself to come here and defend Chris or the rest of the band on whatever occasion. This is a free forum for us fans. If you like to express your feelings for U2 you can go to their fan forum. Have a great and relaxing day!

Coldplay snubbed by MTV in 'Greatest Album Ever' search
Exactly my thoughts mate. MTV was once about showing the best and most decent songs and music shows. Now its all about celebrities and “cribs” and “my sweet 16” and all other bull craps!! I actually think music channels are in their darkest era at the moment!:\
