Ah come on, just spill the beans already! Also, how did you manage to hear the new song? Please say you're friends with a radio DJ who has the track, because when DJ's have them a release is usually imminent.

I'd prefer a Hurts Like Heaven 2.0, because while DLIBYH is a fine song, it's way overproduced. But ov3la told us to expect something more rock-ish and less MX/Viva-ish, so perhaps it won't be a MX2.0. If I combine happy and rock together I immediately think of U2's Beautiful Day, so I reckon their new single will be a something like that but in Coldplay style.

I'll go back into hibernation mode until friday, because if your source says "a couple of days" and the industry has set friday as the worldwide new music release day than we'll definitely get something thursday (youtube audio) or friday (full-on single release with availability on iTunes, Spotify and other sources that count towards the charts).

Well, that answers part of the question I asked a couple of posts above, but can you vouch for this person or is he/she someone you don't know very well?

So, can you tell us a bit more about how your source got to hear the single? Doe he/she work with the band, at a record label, at a radio station etc? And how trustworthy is he/she, is it someone you know very well or someone you don't know at all apart for that chat you had about the single?

I'm not a fan of Ariana Grande, One Direction or Bieber either. But quite frankly, Ariana's singing was decent and so was the song they did. She wasn't singing out of tune and she sounded almost exactly as she does on the studio versions of her songs. I didn't become a Ariana Grande fan all of a sudden, but I was positively surprised by how it turned out. Also, I'm not sure if he was joking or not, but right before Chris introducerd her he said he asked his kids who they should do a collaboration with. They asked for Ariana Grande, daddy delivered.

Exaxctly! And don't forget Amazing Day might well be a charity single, or even worse, a track that we'll never hear again. It doesn't have to be reflective of the (entire) album. Heck, even on the albums there are songs that sound quite different. I mean, Oceans and A Sky Full of Stars are on the same album and those tracks sound totally different. So Amazing Day, by all means, doesn't have to be indicative of how AHFOD will sound.

Alright Coldplay, that's enough silence. Please announce either AHFOD properly with a release date and everything or just tell us that Amazing Day will be available as a charity single soon because we, the Coldplayers, demand an explanation! :P

How do you know that? This might very well be a standalone (charity) single to benefit and promote the Global Citizen initiative. They didn't say anything about the song being on their new album, so as of yet everything is still possible.

Saketblitz, still think this isn't the track you heard in India? Because you said the track was more Paradise and less Viva and the string section at the end of the 1:20 long video we've heard so far could turn into something Paradise-esque

Either this, or they should just take a relatively unknown singer who has just been picked for his or her voice and not because of the commercial aspects. Kinda like Snow Patrol did with Martha Wainwright for Set The Fire To The Third Bar.

Dutch telecomprovider KPN is going to broadcast the Global Citizen Festival live at http://www.kpn.com/globalgoals. I'm not sure if they're just reposting the one from the official Global Citizen Website, but in case they don't it's nice to know we have a backup stream on hand should the one on the official website not be able to handle the amount of traffic.

Since July 10th, the industry has set Friday as the new global muic music day instead of Tuesdays. So if they want to make sure people buy the new song on Friday, they'll have to release the audio on Thursday to create a buzz.

So, anyone expecting their new single tomorrow? I mean it would justify them playing it at Global Citizen without looking like a bunch of guys who are just there to promote their own shit instead of the charity.

Does anyone have a high resolution of that painters triangle, either with or without or without that colorful circle around it? I'm trying to make an inquiry about how much it would cost to get embroidered patches of that logo done, but the company I'm talking to needs to have a picture before they can give me an estimate.
