While the thread title could have been chosen more carefully, I don't think it's anything someone should feel offended by. I don't think the term itself is degrading or bashing and I'm fangirly too and don't mind being called fangirl, I know my opinions are biased when it comes to certain things. Anyway, I think this discussion is completely unneccassary, because this wasn't meant as an attack on fangirls, but simply meant to get more neutral views on the song. I ask everyone not to bash anyone because they're fans of Coldplay (which hasn't happened in this thread in my opinion) but moreover I also ask everyone to please accept that this thread was meant to get opinions from people who do not blindly like everything that Coldplay does, which some people who posted in this thread clearly ignored. You can't really expect anyone to join a forum for every band/singer they like, that is just silly. Some people's opinion about Coldplay changed over time and they have a right to stay here and talk to the people they've gotten used to even if they're not into Coldplay anymore. ^ Exactly, something that should be kept in mind. You think that, fine, but I don't think tauiwi meant any harm with the title and this wasn't supposed to be an attack on fangirls and please stop playing their advocate. You're degrading them by defending them non-stop. If those who are labeled fangirls here feel bashed or offended they can always contact a mod or report posts. Believe it or not, the mods actually do like Coldplay, even if not all of them are around in the Coldplay section. I ask you both to please stop with personal attacks as this is leading nowhere. ^ Exactly, I don't see any harm in it. I think you've been reminded before to please stop with always starting arguments about Radiohead. This thread had nothing to do with Radiohead or its fans and not only Radiohead fans voiced negative opinions about the song. So please stop bringing this up and call people "sycophantic gut wrenching". I ask everyone to remain civil and stop with any personal insults.

Haha ... a friend got me a CD of the Kastelruther Spatzen once, I don't think I was ever able to throw it away, although I hid it somewhere and I haven't seen it ever since. :uhoh:

I could never tell someone that I didn't like the gift, it was a gift after all. D: But some things my father gave me were just ... I don't know, almost thoughtless. :uhoh:

Haha ... I had a similar experience. :blank: We visited an aunt for Christmas and there were these huge wrapped presents under the Christmas tree. My brother and I were both super-curious and of course assumed that it was for us since we were the only children around ... but nada, my aunt didn't even give us any gift, those were bed sheets for her daughter. The only gifts we received that day were little brooches that our cousin gave us. We tried to smile anyway. :blank:

I know ... appreciate what you get, be happy, the intention counts etc, etc, etc ... but what's the worst/ugliest gift someone gave you for Christmas, for your birthday or just in general? For me it has to be the fake Dolce&Gabbana purse that my father gave me. I don't even wear those brands and I don't think I would if I could afford it and besides, you can spot that it's fake from miles away.

I think the only time I was really drunk when I was a little kid. :thinking: It must have been really funny, because I drank all the rests of all the beer bottles who stood in a room unguarded. Well ... looking at it now, it was probably more embarrassing for my parents.

Today I learned that I shouldn't be allowed to boil water because it'll only end up on my hands anyway. :nice:

I hit my toe on my suitcase in London and almost took of the whole nail, it started to bleed at first, but then it only turned purple. The nail was purple for a while and now fell off completely ... I'm an expert at ruining my toes, I'm too clumsy. I've never broken a bone, so I don't really know what that feels like. :thinking: I remember cutting into my thumb with the bread cutter when I was a child though, it wasn't nice. :blank:
