Acoustic set in Paris earlier tonight. Watch it. <-- skip to about 4 mins in, the lads don't start playing until about 5 mins in. They play man of simple pleasures :wacky: Love that one. By Fire tho, Tom sounds completely pissed (that's pissed as in bladdered on Tequila, not as in pissed off ;) ) and Serge sounds like he's high on summat  It depends what sort of stuff you normally listen to... if you like rocky, epic sort of music check out Julie and The Mothman Vlad The Impaler Club Foot Empire Fast Fuse or if you prefer more mellow stuff, try Underdog Days Are Forgotten Thick As Thieves Me Plus One British Legion Happiness or some more electronic-y ones would be Processed Beats I.D. I Hear Voices Just to get you started....

Yeah, friday is just the two Manchester shows. No info yet on where else they are going to play. I've just been looking at the capacity for Heaton Park - 75,000 :o Fucking hell. Mental.

Noel Gallagher
I don't keep up with the charts, but is Sir Noel on course for the No 1 slot this weekend? I read something about him out-selling Matt Turdle, which has to be a good thing ;)

Ian Brown/Stone Roses
Yeah, the press conference was fun :D The body language was promising, they're all clearly up for giving it a good shot, even if Reni obviously has mis-givings  I just hope they're back long enough for a third album now :cheesy: Not wanting to be greedy or anything..

New Coldplay eh?
There's a review of MX in this week's NME, not a glowing review either. They give it 5/10. The last line pretty much sums up how I feel about the album too... I agree with that really, it's kind of like the album has potential but ends up playing it a bit safe, most of the songs hint at going somewhere or doing something, but then just wind up sticking to the formula. It's a decent album but it's not a great album. There's none of the sparks of brilliance that Viva had. :(

Miles Kane's gonna be the support for the arena shows in December. Woooohoooo :D I have a date with Miles this Saturday too ;)

New Coldplay eh?
Discombfuckinwhatulated? :laugh3: Hang on, gonna look that one up.... oh, ok disconcerting/confusing. idk, I don't think I'd go that far. Hurts Like Heaven is way more confusing, if you ask me - it can't really work out what genre it wants to be, that track, so it tries several out for size. Up With The Birds is actually fairly straightforward, just a little strange in places. On the whole though, I think the whole album is rather discombowhateveritwasyousaid ;)

New Coldplay eh?
I quite like Up With The Birds, on the one hand it's very typically Coldplay (esp. thge beginning) but then it's seems to go a bit ...odd. But kind of in a good way. It's the one track on the album that dares to be different. It could do with a few more like that, tbh.

At the moment I'd probs give it a five. It's not a bad album, but there's very little in it to fangirl over :\

New Coldplay eh?
I've just straight up deleted both Princess of China and Wa-wa-waterfall from the album, it's a vast improvement :smug: My faves are Charlie Brown, Up With The Birds and possibly Us Against The World, altho I'm not entirely sure on that one just yet. And regarding worst songs. PoC definately challenges Twisted Logic as the worst Coldplay song of all time. And probably pushes A Whisper into third place.
