Thoughts on Kasabian's "Velociraptor!"
I just happen to be listening to this very lovely album right now :wacky: Dunno about it being 'pop', I wouldn't describe it like that. The best I've heard them describe it as, is a mix of their previous three lps - and this is spot on imo, there's flavours of the debut in the more electronic-y tracks and then there's bits that wouldn't be out of place on Empire or West Ryder. As a whole piece it's more consistent than either the debut or Empire. A lot of reviews have been calling it their best yet, I'm not sure yet if it stands up to West Ryder in terms of overall quality, but it's certainly their most mature and heartfelt album, I think. I suppose in terms of pop music, this album may get them even more noticed than West Ryder as maybe some of the tracks are more accessible to the mainstream. Maybe, that's what they meant. Anyway, whatever the genre or label, it's a blinder of an LP. There's a very active Kasabian thread tho btw where we've been dissecting Velociraptor since it leaked last week  You should join us in there ;)

Argh, I'm having no end of trouble with this album  First it downloaded with no info on the tracks, so I had to type it all in and now it won't scrobble to last.fm cos there's no track lengths on the album. Grrrrrrrrrr I hate it when stuff won't scrobble properly. :bigcry:

Awww I really like I Hear Voices. I like the "one minute to uh, one minute to uh, one minute to midnigggghtht" bit :wacky: My cd/dvd arrived today. It's in a lovely little white box and it's the white artwork with the feathers rather than the black artwork that I was expecting, so I'm really chuffed with it. Was watching the Dublin gig on the dvd and during Vlad my little boy says - "are they singing - all my friends are as sharp as raisins?" haha bless 'im. The dvd is great tho, it's lovely to see Serge again when he had nice hair :P

The music forum's take on Paradise
Coldplay are useless. I think that's something we can all agree on nowadays  :P hehehe joking (well, maybe half-joking)
-
New Coldplay eh?
Well, I do want the cd either way, so buying the standard version is the most likely option. It's just I'm going to feel like I'm missing out on the deluxe version, but then saying that people'll probably be scanning in and posting all the interesting stuff like the studio diary and the notes an' that, so I'll probs still get to see it all :\ Idk, I just wish I was a little more excited for this album, i'm kinda disappointed that I'm so disappointed in it already :(

Noel Gallagher
I just heard What A Life today on the radio and I really love it. I'm getting more and more impressed with Noel's solo stuff the more I hear. I'm 1000% more excited for this album than I am for Mylo Xlyoto

Have you not seen it then Kat? I think it's hilarious - it's the weirdest thing ever to see them on the breakfast sofa  Look at 'em, they look so respectable haha (Serge does keep stoking his thigh a lot, tho) Watch here (probs uk only tho)

New Coldplay eh?
Paradise is marginally less shit than Every Teardrop is A Bunch Of Arse, but some of the other tracks we've heard like Charlie Brown and Major Minus are actually ok, so the dilemma I have now is - should I spend £50 on the super-duper deluxe version of MX which looks amazing and I really want to have it cos it's Coldplay and they've been in my life for 10 years and I'd feel like a t w a t if I gave up on them now BUT can I really really really justify spending 50 quid on an album that essentially, will only be half-decent. :bigcry: Especially when there's other super-duper deluxe albums that I'd rather spend that sort of money on (& bands far more deserving of my support/money) :\ :\ :\ I don't know what to do.....

I've only just heard bits of the album now - somehow I'd managed to forget this album was coming out. Anyway, I've just bought the download from vibrashop, but I'm still waiting for the download code, what a load of rubbish. Downloads should be instant, I shouldn't have to wait for an email! Boooo [/grumble] I hate buying from vibrashop anyway, it does not look good on my bank statement ! I wanna phone the bank up and say - it's not what it looks like, it's a record shop, honest :laugh3: Anyway, from what I've heard of the album so far, I really like it. It's sweet :dazzled: And it's lovely to hear new music with Jonas's pretty voice on it :nice:

There's this one but you can only see Tom's arms at 0:32 ish I couldn't fnd any vids of the Channel four footage, which is a bummer cos it showed Tom a few times (hahaha why does Graham Coxon talk like a 12 year schoolgirl...? )

Ah yeah the tsunami benefit thingy. I watched that thing for The Coral and then a random Tommy pops up looking very yummy backstage and I'm like :dazzled: lol @ ol' Coxon's face when he smiles at Tom. Cute
