  1. My favourite meat is lamb, but I only eat them a couple of times a year. I feel quite sick after having them. So most of the times I just eat chicken.
  2. With Chris. The combination that I like most is Chris and Will. Kinda balances things out.
  3. just come.
  4. Can someone who voted 0 tell me why they voted 0? I'm just curious, seeing that as much as I don't like the song, I'm not sure if it deserves that.
  5. Not at all. I'd still go to their shows, but maybe only one show which is not as much as I would if the album is good.
  6. Major Minus for me too. I've listened to that song more than the other new ones.
  7. I understand why you feel that way towards comments that were posted in the line of 'Coldplay's new song sucks they should just die', but those comments were made by a small minority where else plenty others have given valid justification of why they think the song is shit. The "true fans"(lol) however, gets too defensive and that makes others go even more overboard in bashing the song. And you don't think one of the ways to support this band is by giving constructive criticism? It has been pointed out by Lore over and over again that she and others criticise the band because they know the band can do much better than what they are doing. Can you say that they are not "true fans"? Who are we to label which fans are "more true" and which are "less"? I would also like to point out that very little people care about being "true fans". We would just say what we feel and we go about doing that without thinking "would a true fan do this?" beforehand. lol if anyone ever expected deep songs by Coldplay then they are fully mistaken. They have never been experts of writing deep overly meaningful songs. One thing I like about Coldplay from the beginning is how straight forward Chris Martin's lyrics are and how brave of him to express his feelings that clearly without fearing of being labelled as too cheesy. But 'no generation drop' and 'rather be a comma and a fullstop'? Come on. I do not know if other people are expecting another Parachutes, cause I am not. It was a good formula used by the band, a pretty damn good one in fact, but having two similar albums would be just as bad as producing bad new albums. What makes me disappointed is that they are producing a song that do not have the effect that they used to have on me, which is the excitement of listening to their songs. Now every time they produce a new song, I would have to worry about them producing bad songs, which was proven right currently. You can change and be inspired all you want, but people don't usually change in backwards direction. ETIAW sounded like what they would produce when they were 15, and then mature up and go forward and produce Parachutes. The song is just that ridiculous sounding.
  8. ^I reread the first post and you're right. Which brings in bigger irony seeing the title of the thread..lol
  9. Constructive or not, I must admit that I'm enjoying the chaos. It's been a while :P
  10. I was too lazy to look for it up but yeah, THAT^
  11. ^I'm pretty sure that that is said TO the people who don't like it either but of course you are fine with that..
  12. People would have different opinions and different ways of expressing them. If you can't accept that, then it's too bad. People wont stop criticising the song(s) just because you created a thread asking people to. It seems the title of your thread is applied to the making of this thread at the first place.
  13. People always told me that they'd rather listen to Bieber's songs than Friday to prove how bad Rebecca Black's song is. I however, feel like it's better to listen to Black's song because at least we know for sure that it's for the laugh. Bieber's songs on the other hand, are more embarassing to listen to because people would assume that I condone to such musical taste. Coldplay's ETIAW is like Bieber's songs to me.
  14. ^^I get what you mean..When I heard Teardrops I was very sure that the whole album would be such a massive poppish rainbow-ish failed dance album. However then comes in other songs like Us Against the World and I'm completely puzzled. How can they release a song like ETIAW as a single for an album that contains songs like UATW? It is as if the band is saying.."hey let's just release this really crappy song and have the whole fanbase go crazy about how bad it is and then go out and surprise them by performing the other new songs that are more stripped down which is what many fans wanted". There's no correlation at all between their first released single and few other new songs they've recently played.
  15. That comparison is nearly as bad as ETIAW itself.
  16. It amuses me how some of the fans regard themselves as apparently being 'true fans' just because they like everything that the band does. If that is the definition of true fans for this band, then I pity them. Because a good band would love to listen to any critical opinion made by their followers on their produced song. It's an important part of the process of changing for the better. On the other hand, "omg it's the most brilliant song everrrrrrr" does very little to their progress.
  17. Why do people think that it is gonna be a good summer song? The song is mundane from the beginning to the end, Chris sounded like he's just singing to get done with this song as soon as possible. Even Viva La Vida has the understandable element of being a summer song with the big singalong 'ooohhh' part (it's not a great song, but I get why people get excited as soon as the intro comes in), but where is the majestic part in ETIAW that makes it a good summer song? I find none. I've heard the song twice, still not liking it, and I'm avoiding myself from more listens for the fear of hating the song more than I am now.
  18. Why do some people get overly sensitive over criticisms directed towards the band?. If you don't like them, you should just sit in a locked room and listen to the song alone cause you'll be aware of only one opinion of the song that is yours.
  19. Back when there was this hype about 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' is probably going to e one of the titles of the songs in LP5, I thought that the next album would be very, very bad. But then I told myself that might just be a joke. So I was hopeful. Then the few new videos without sound came out recently and I was very intrigued. Videos with words but no music? Of course I was very curious. And I told myself that this may turn out to be good. But now, not only that that awful title is becoming their first single release, the lyrics sounded like what Avril Lavigne would sing. And I agree with Mike with those photos.. What's with the jackets and the graffiti and the fancy hairdo(for Chris)? I'm not sure if they are trying too hard to 'fit in'as Mike has assumed, but it seems to me like they are trying too hard to prove that they are coming up with something different this time around, when the fact is that having this image is as cliche as their decision of having their viva image the first time.
