http://www.tmz.com/2008/08/10/who-is-the-man-dead-at-65/ Musician Isaac Hayes -- who wrote the theme song for "Shaft" -- died early this morning in a Memphis hospital. According to WMC, a Shelby County sheriff's deputy responded to call from Hayes' wife after she found him on the floor near a treadmill inside their home. Hayes was taken to Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, and was pronounced dead at 2:08 AM. Cops are investigating, but do not believe foul play was a factor.

Don't know anything from Interpol, so I will have to go for Editors by default. The Back Room is an alright album, I really like Distance though.

Cause "Wonderwall", "Don't Go Away", "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" etc. etc. are so hardcore?:rolleyes: And to add on what previously has been said, Oasis is a band living through their former glory...there was a time when everyone wanted to sound like Oasis and have their success, but they haven't made a truly good album since Morning Glory..while 3 of 4 Coldplay albums have all gotten very good responses from the fans and the critics. Now everyone is just waiting for Oasis to reach the heights of DM and MG again...they still haven't after all these years. Oasis has gotten boring (a long time ago).

Well to be honest these got kind of tired after #3.

Well if we learned one thing from the thread it's that Oasis isn't that bad, only their fans are complete simpletons.

So is there any news on a future album?

I think a greatest hits is inevitable at this point...they've got more than enough good songs + hits to fill one up, but I agree I'd rather the announcement be something more exciting.

I'm pondering whether if I'm going to see them when they come to Chicago, I'd make a trip of it for that weekend but I don't know if it's going to work out...I might have to wait until they tour here again (which seems to be pretty often)...

That's actually probably my least favorite of their albums. How was Pull the Pin?? It's the last one I need to get... P.S. I hope the announcement is a good one and not just that there throwing together some compilation. Well I suppose that would be decent as well.

It's the truth, they haven't made a decent album in over a decade, who are they to criticize any other band or their fans?:confused:

I love it 100x more than when I first heard it, the songs are still very strong for me (well except Reign of Love). Their best album ever.
