The Jeff Buckley appreciation thread (November 17, 1966 - May 29th , 1997)
Jeff Buckley I know this is a popular opinion, but Grace is AMAZING. Not just the songs but he has such a powerful voice...if you haven't checked out that album yet, I strongly advise you do. I'm so pleased that recently it's gotten so much appreciation. Mojo Pin is particularly great, but the whole album is great just get it, you'll be happy you did.

Radiohead
I love "Pyramid Song", it's like Amnesiac's "Street Spirit" which is a VERY good thing.

I'm really happy they're playing Green Eyes...hope they do in Detroit.

The Dark Knight
It a was a very enjoyable movie, just for Batman I wasn't so impressed with partly because of the shoes he had to fill...the rest of the cast (bar the Joker, and I was impressed with Gary Oldman) was decent, predictable for this kind of film, but I had no problems with how they acted.

Radiohead - Street Spirit (Glastonbury '97) http://youtube.com/watch?v=WiRav6ZDa-s An amazing, and chilling performance...maybe better than the album version

The Dark Knight
lol the voice WAS annoying. The main reason I didn't like him as batman was he was just flat for me and not very memorable at all, and the fact that he was casted next to Heath didn't help him. Overall the casting was good, I think...and I did like the movie, just a weak batman.

The Dark Knight
I saw it at the IMAX the week it came out. Was really impressed with Heath, but Christian Bale as Batman was pretty awful.

General Chat: Setlist
I know there are quite a bit of casual fans that go to the shows, but I just wish sometimes they'd sacrafice playing stuff like "Clocks" or "In my Place" etc. so they could play more songs that they don't do often like "Green Eyes".

General Chat: Setlist
I'd love it if they perform it when I go to the Detroit show, it's one of my favorites by Coldplay.

I think VLVODAAHF may be my FAVORITE ALBUM EVER
After listening to it again today, every track on it is great, I challenge Coldplay to make an even better album next time...I'm so glad to see how far they've come since Parachutes.:drummer:

Radiohead
I'm starting to warm up to Radiohead a bit more...I'm absolutely loving The Bends and OK Computer, Kid A is growing I guess (talk about a difficult album to get into), but is it me or is Pablo Honey a bit crap? I still need to get Amnesiac through In Rainbows.

What does Coldplay listen to?
Listen to Parachutes, that should give you a pretty decent idea of what the band likes. Heavily influenced on that album and to their own admission are acts such as Radiohead and Jeff Buckley. Only not as good. ;)

if you see this album cover, run.
$20 says that this person played the album once while listening to MTV's The Hills in the background to formulate her 'unbiased opinion'.

No other Coldplay song tops POLITIK
Agreed. It has the best opening in a Coldplay song for sure. And Chris makes it so big and dramatic live.
