  4. How extremely to the left is he, though? He's quite liberal, yes...but not to the extent Palin is on the right.
  5. There will always be corrupt individuals in politics it's a given. Our president is happy to reduce rich people's taxes, but can't create programs to help people who need their taxes lowered and need to get new job opportunities. But really, I can't expect anything more at this point...Republicans in GENERAL cannot run these programs so why do we expect them to? This is why John McCain's new 'change' motto is so laughable. Keep in mind Obama is FAR from my top Dem choice (Clinton was my first choice), and really, McCain is far from my top Republican choice as well...but really we can't afford having McCain/Palin take office.
  6. The PATRIOT Act is the least of our problems now, come on. And no, the influence of socialism did NOT bring us out of the Depression, it certainly helped though. But, to be honest our country could use a bit more of socialism when it comes to health care, poverty etc. but that of course is my opinion
  7. What are you on about?
  8. The main point is we don't know much about Palin...period. She's a far right wing politician who wants creationism to be taught in schools, strongly supports the war in Iraq thinking it's a mission from God, she also wants abortion to be banned in all cases, how do you not get how that pisses a lot of people off? Obama doesn't have very much experience...FACT...but the American public can believe in him more than someone who more than often agrees with Bush and will be giving us the same thing for four years to come And a little socialism wouldn't hurt, how do you think we got out of the Great Depression?
  9. I respect your opinion and all, and I do think there has been a BIT of complaining based on sex (the fact that she's a mother of five and just had a child and people are attacking her for that)...but really MOST of her opposers have attacked her on issues that have nothing to do with her sex: *She clearly hasn't had that much experience (very little in foreign policy if at all) *She's as far right wing as you get when it comes to nearly ALL the issues discussed thus far... *She obviously has a few skeleton's in her (and her family's) closet [such as her husband being a part of a group that wants Alaska to part from the Union, her lying about the fact that she said she was never for the bridge to nowhere when indeed she was for quite some time] All those are very big reasons why many people wouldn't like her...I'm extremely skeptical of her for all the reasons above as well.
  10. He went to a local public school here in Michigan too (Farmington Hills, Michigan)...it's weird that he was no more than about 8 minutes from my house! And I know a couple people that went to see him.
  11. So what are they actually going to find out with this experiment?...It better reveal something like TIME TRAVEL considering the risks of the whole thing.
  12. It sounded skeptical from the beginning...his 'details' about the songs were vague and most of the descriptions we already knew, why would some guy's Dad who lives in BRAZIL of all places be the first to access or know about this promo/track list. And the whole story about the friend threatening him is just over the top...I mean would a few neighbour folks in Brazil who might have heard him screaming really care that much about getting their hands on a new Coldplay EP? If it ends up true then I stand corrected, but really who's he kidding?
  13. It's a good album, but incredibly uncreative.

So there's this girl that I 'love' and after she told me she wants to stay friends back in April and after Summer I hadn't seen her for three months and then I see her for the first time I randomly got upset..and it finally hit me. sigh. I don't think any of my friends can really relate to being in love so they don't know the extent of it probably.

  17. LOL I just used it last night for my own AP Gov homework...let's hope he didn't mess up the pages about Seperation of Powers, the Legislative branch, and Bicameral.
  18. Oh I'm quite happy to know that Jonny and Guy don't like "The Hardest Part".
  19. You can't expect a community vote to be that close to your opinion...there are loads of placings that I disagree with, but at least "The Scientist" or "Clocks" isn't #1.
  20. Oh I didn't even bring my backpack to school today. All the teachers did was talk and hand out introduction papers which I put in a folder. That was the only thing I brought.
  21. P.S. I already have SEVERAL homework assignments..thank God for block days, huh?
  22. Ok so I just came back from my first day of school, and it's been DECENT...I have a GREAT lunch period, a few semi-enjoyable classes, the people in them for some classes are a bit crap though, so I might have to work out a few kinks and switch around a few of my classes, but for the most part SO FAR SO GOOD.
  23. And I am off to school for the first day tomorrow, God help me. :o
  24. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2667485/Mansion-millionaire-Christopher-Foster-caught-on-CCTV-with-rifle-after-fire-started.html The family at a friend's barbecue hours before Christopher set his own mansion on fire, killing his family, pets, and himself. The film appears to confirm the theory that Mr Foster, who was in deep financial trouble, murdered his wife and daughter, then shot the family's horses and dogs before setting fire to the £1.2million property and turning the gun on himself. Detectives believe Mr Foster, 50, suffered a breakdown triggered by the collapse of his company, and decided to destroy his family home rather than see it sold off to pay creditors. "In the end his state of mind must have been, 'If I can't have all this nobody will'," a source said. "He adored his wife and daughter so he must have been in a terrible mental state to do what he did." Police have now removed all three bodies found in the ruins of Osbaston House, near Oswestry, Shropshire, one of which has been formally identified as Mr Foster's wife Jill, 49, who had been shot in the back of the head. Tests are expected to confirm the identities of the other two bodies later today, as well as a cause of death. They are thought to be the remains of Mr Foster and the couple's 15-year-old daughter, Kirstie. The CCTV footage, which was shown by police to an elderly relative for identification, shows Mr Foster in the early hours of Tuesday, August 26, carrying what is thought to be a .22 calibre rifle, which he legally owned and which was found near Mrs Foster's body. Mr Foster, who had appeared happy and relaxed when he attended a barbecue at a friend's house just hours earlier, is seen leaving the garage and stable block, where his daughter's three prized horses had already been shot, and which was already ablaze. He is then seen running across a courtyard lit up by security lights and going into the main part of the family home, where police believe he had earlier shot his wife and daughter before barricading the doors and windows to hamper the work of emergency crews who were later called to the scene. A large horsebox had been parked across the gates to the property, with its tyres deflated, to further slow down fire crews. Mr Foster is thought to have put up the obstructions to prevent fire crews rescuing the house or anything of value which could have been sold off to pay debts of around £1.8million which had been run up by his business, Ulva Ltd, which made insulation materials for the oil industry. Mr Foster's brother Andrew, of Wolverhampton, said: "It is a very difficult time for us all and we are all in a terrible state of shock. Chris is my brother and I can't imagine he would do anything wrong. I've been asked not to say anything at this stage until we know more." Terence Baines, a former director of Mr Foster's company Ulva Ltd, said he feared the millionaire may have "just flipped because the pressure of it was too much for him". According to one report bailiffs arrived at the Foster home on Tuesday morning to find firefighters tackling the inferno. The Fosters had bought Osbaston House in 2004 for £1,150,000 with a mortgage from HSBC and since then had spent thousands improving it, including the addition of a lake and paddock. Friends have said the house was Mr Foster's pride and joy and he would have been horrified at the prospect of losing it. The search for bodies at the house was delayed for several days because it is so unstable, and structural experts have told police that the intense heat of the fire will have weakened the mortar in the walls, meaning the whole building will have to be bulldozed. Richard Drinkwater, a partner in the law firm Pannone, specialising in corporate recovery, said: "In a case like this the property would normally revert to the mortgage company, who will sell the land to raise as much money as they can to recoup their loss. "If there was any money left over, it would go to creditors, but unless the mortgage was very small that is unlikely, as the value of the land will be nowhere near the value of the original property." Police hope that forensic archaeologists will be able to produce an accurate reconstruction of where each of the victims died. Ian Hanson, senior lecturer in forensic archaeology at Bournemouth University, said: "It's important to look at the sequence of materials that build up, rather as you would if peeling off the layers of an onion. "The same principles will apply in this case as they would with ancient things. It really doesn't matter whether the deposits were laid down five minutes ago or 5,000 years ago."
