A Sky Full Of Stars!! (Out now - See first post)
That's the problem, Coldplay stopped for some reason produce and create interesting sound with great master recording you could enjoy even on low Hi-Fi systems - particularly Parachutes, AROBTTH and X&Y. With ETIAW that's gone - Hi-Fi adds nothing, the same story with A Sky Full Of Stars. Those tracks were created specifically for radio transmissions where only loudness does matter.

Well I'm talking specifically about this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war To catch attention pop music nowadays are something loud and gibberish.

I'm not deaf and there is no need to shout. I'm not cheering for either band because they could be on top on the radio. Besides Coldplay hardly need such "praise". I don't like this kind of music, you got it? And further we go there are less and lees coldplay in this album (Midnight, now this mess). What's next?

When someone like Coldplay begin to lose it's own unique style and turning into something you can hardly call "music" with all those beat and loudness with narrow dynamic range - give it a second thought.

Excuse me, but that's preview sounds like thousands similar club tracks, garbage.

Midnight base track - Jon Hopkin's Amphora
Nope, Escapist is a hidden track, sorta outro, while Midnight is a headliner.

Well, even "better version" has a crappy quality, I begin listen and skipped - there are no sense because of the quality.

Midnight base track - Jon Hopkin's Amphora
ihaveabono, thanks for info. I googled and found out Hopkins was mentioned like producer, fair enough. Still it's a bummer they didn't write melody, chords, because that's the bone of any song. I guess thats consequences of living in a modern digital world, kind of.

Midnight base track - Jon Hopkin's Amphora
Dunno, take out Amphora and you are getting distorted vocal with sound effects. And they didn't even mentioned it like "collaborations" (oh really?) I'm sorry lads but that's just a hoax, I'm seriously pissed off. I think boys are talented enough to put something they likes through and while create something similar yet it would be your own music.

Midnight base track - Jon Hopkin's Amphora
That's not about money, I thought Midnight was a masterpiece which put Coldplay on one level with Radiohead with this spiritual performance and in the end it's just a remix everyone could make with a microphone and Garageband. PS And to make my day worse Oceans was the weakest song so far, damn.

Midnight base track - Jon Hopkin's Amphora
I know, but it wasn't a secret (about Kratfwerk) and at least they recorded with a different sound, while Midnight completely was taken from Hopkins laptop.

Midnight base track - Jon Hopkin's Amphora
To be fair it should be sorta "Amphora (ft Coldplay)". And it's also annoying they are pushing Midnight like one of the key tracks.

Midnight base track - Jon Hopkin's Amphora
So the band just added some lyrics, made a bit of a remix and that's all? Disappointment. The whole melody/composition has been written and composed by another chap. That's not the way it used to be. It reminds me Madonna/Lady Gaga style of "music" - rehash and ripoff.

[11-Mar-2014] Coldplay @ iTunes Festival, ACL Moody Theatre, Austin, Texas, USA
So Ghost Stories aka LP6 is that one stripped recording. And it's actually marvellous, more intimate atmosphere, less loudness. Reminiscent from old times. Those new tracks reminds introductions before songs in AROBITH tour. Can't wait to listen the whole album. It seems our boys takes another step and it's Radiohead direction rather U2. Now we need a video :-)

LP6
That's all apples and oranges.

LP6
Lads, they would do whatever they think right. I mean it's an obvious desire from our side and they won't make another Parachutes or AROBTTH, each album is unique and different, and I bet they tired about playing Yellow, Clocks and Viva again and again. They are different persons now, and you could feel it from their music. They enjoy the bright side of the life and they want to share this feelings. I dare to say that after almost 2 years I started appreciate MX and think it's probably the best album overall - you can't listen just one song, it's like a book, I often listen it from start to the end and it works best that way. and live gigs works even better. So whatever they decided I believe it would be another gamechanger.

LP6
Knowing Chris I bet it would be rather May 2015. They are perfectionists, so...

Rate Atlas - and post your review
After first listening thought it's brilliant track for OST, but miss some craft to be great standalone Coldplay work. But after a couple listenings more I think it's absolutely focking great song - although Chris vocal a bit dry and off, the music is wonderful beauty our band knows how to extract - amazing soft melody (X&Y), piano (Parachutes) and final guitar reef (something from MX), extremely touching and absorbing. I would say that Coldplay one of the rare bands nowadays that built strong emotional connection with listeners. Fuck, can't wait for LP6!

Coldplay will release track "Atlas" from "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" soundtrack on 6/8 Sept
Won't happen. It's a one-off like CL. And LP6 still could be 12-16 month away. Jeez we don't even know who is producing new album.

I think it should be simple and in a way cheesy track. But hell, I'm excited to hear this news like everybody else. PS Hunger Games sucks.

ColdplayFilm - MX Live DVD
I've been on the same screening. Pity no one wants to clap or sing during performance. The movie was nice. I wouldn't call it great, like the Live 2003, but still solid, colourful and bold. And extremely light. The only thing I don't like - too much style over substance, too rapid editing, too much colour sometimes. I saw U2 3D and like a concert movie it was better. Also I give the edge to U2 live gig over Coldplay (I saw both bands live). But the boys told themselves, they know how to improve the show. Let's wait and see another leg next year.

2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
New single will be released on Monday - it looks like another indication of new tour legs in 2013 or maybe not.
