Doesn't that therefore render Viva La Vida as a better collection of music? I don't understand the logic here. As for all this debate on "Swallowed in the Sea", it's funny - whilst I would probably go as far as saying I detest X&Y for all its soppiness, I actually liked "Swallowed In The Sea". Never mind me though, I'm awfully prone to guilty pleasures - I'll even admit to bopping along unashamedly to Rihanna's "Umbrella".

Well, the Tour's nearly over, but I was amazed nobody had made a thread already for this thrilling event. It may have been tarnished by drug cheats in recent years, but I firmly believe that this tells us merely that the cycling drug tests and anti-doping policies are actually working and finding the cheats. "Yes" has been bypassed a bit in recent Coldplaying criticism and I think it's terrific. "Twisted Logic" is probably my favourite song from X&Y. Doesn't quite reach the epic proportions of some Coldplay tracks, but God, there is certainly some epic-ness to it. And "Green Eyes" - Coldplay at its simplest, most beautiful best.

I could not agree with you more. And I think hiring Brian Eno was the best decision they've ever made - it seems like he gave them a good kick up the guts and took them back to what defined their first two albums - sheer beauty, without superfluous melodrama.
