Rate Atlas - and post your review
So different to what we've been used to in recent Coldplay times, but a great song. I'm genuinely interested to see if the new album stays consistent with 'Atlas' or whether it was very much 'Hunger Games' soundtrack focussed. Good to have the lads back...and Jonny's intricate yet perfectly-fitting riffs.

LP6
Wow what a response. Yeah I specifically asked Chris fresh/ raw tracks to get a kind of progress update. His exact words being "not raw, just new". He was between 2 songs and had just left the bakery for the beehive. I believe Will and Jonny were inside the beehive too. We saw Guy a few mins after Chris but he was with his children so we left him well alone. There seems to be a lot of activity as present, of which we witnessed a snippet. As for a real time scale? Who knows...I remember X&Y was near enough re-written not long before initial release. They certainly know how to keep fans on their toes! :)

WE'VE FOUND THE BAKERY!! *NOW WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF* UPDATED FIRST POST!*
The recent pics of fellow fans with the band are no fluke! I headed down to the beehive on Friday (7-Jun-13) and was hugely fortunate to meet Chris and Matt (Sound Engineer). Chris was an absolute gent and signed a couple of things I had taken with me, and spent around 15 mins with a friend and I. (I didn't realise he was so tall!) Pics can be found on my Twitter as I have not uploaded them photobucket or any other image sites: https://twitter.com/SBowers88 Chris also confirmed that they were very much into 'new' songs. I asked fresh/ raw tracks? He said no...just new. With a bit of luck the new album isn't as far off as we once thought. They were 'mid-song' between the beehive and the bakery, with a host of activity going on - from laptops being passed studio to studio..as well as laundry! It was a great experience and one I shall never forget. They say you should never meet your heroes, but with Chris it was a genuine pleasure...

Still got them going?

Favorite Coldplay concert memory/story
For me it's got to be July 5th, Reebok Stadium, Bolton. It was an amazing night, the filming of the 'Fix You' video just added to an already superb evening, (We got to hear 'Fix You' twice!) It was probably the best concert I've ever been to. Every time I see the video for 'Fix You', it reminds of a great night.

Ok thanks a lot samdevos! Thats what I've been using when I play 'Yellow'. Just checking I was using the right pedals!
-
Jonnys Pedal Board
So does he use Vintage Rat as the boost or as a base distortion sound?
-
Jonnys Pedal Board
Is that what he used on Yellow originally? And GPASUYF?
-
ANYONE JONS AMP SETTINGS OR DD5 Settings?
What song are you referring to? He changes his DD-5 depending on feedback, volume, etc

JAMES BLUNT **good or bad**
Yea not a big fan myself! Overplayed and overrated for me. I guess different people will have different opinions! My friends loves him but killed a party when his album was put on! Not good!

Jonnys Pedal Board
Doesn't Johnny use Fender Hotrod DeVille amps?
-
Jonnys Pedal Board
Is the Colorsound Tonebender used on yellow for Johnny's main part?
-
Jonnys Pedal Board
The white pedal far left is an MXR Micro amp. Provides gain, as used on Politik and Fix you. Next to the white Boss DD-5 is the Vintage Rat, another different type of distortion, as used on White Shadows and Swallowed in the sea. They're the only ones i can pick out for sure. The orange pedal is an MXR phaser

-
Live Recordings with MP3 Player
I think they record in .wav files, so you won't get the whole concert because wav files are huge!!

Manchester 19th December: The Official Thread

- US vs. UK

What guitar is this?
Yea definitely a Fender Thinline telecaster!
-
Rat dist.
Johnny uses his Vintage Rat as his base guitar sound. Most of distortion is kicked in by his MXR Micro Amp. The vintage rat sound though is quality, i use it all the time and it can create any distortion you want!
-
Yellow Guitar Effect?
I think it's the Pro Co Vintage Rat pedal
