The Christmas lights will not be switched on until the X-factor is taken off!
Come on Coldplay, what about a Christmas EP? Having said all that, what about a Christmas EP (a la Pet Shop Boys) with the following on it: a Cover..... 2000 Miles (love that Coldplay cover, and it's not commercially available) Have Yourselves a Merry Little Christmas Christmas Lights C'mon guys!

The Christmas lights will not be switched on until the X-factor is taken off!
Rage against the machine only got to no Christmas no 1 with an orchestrated internet campaign to keep off the X-factor from the top spot. Much as I (and many others) love Coldplay, I can't see that working for them. I hope this year's campaign to get Fairytale of New York works , as I love that song and it's the 10th anniversary of Kirsty's MacColl's death.

Does Chris Martin Use Twitter?
That's quite insulting to Chris. A guy who gets a 1st @ Uni doesn't have a "little mind" I always like to think of Chris as a (slightly :) ) saner version of Tom Baker: he plays the fool, but actually he's incredibly bright beneath the playful facade.

Does Chris Martin Use Twitter?
I agree, and I don't know why Twitter doesn't close down all these fake accounts.

What Would you do if Coldplay were gone?
Coldplay will always be around in some form or other. Music is their raison d'etre, I can't see them throwing in the towel or giving up what they love. Chris may talk about ageing rock stars and loosing his hair, but we all know he'll be around in some capacity either making or producing music until he is no longer with us. Given Chris is both younger than me and lives I'd say a very healthy lifestyle, I fully expect him to outlive me.

Oasis? Oasis? Who are they? Didn't they split up? :)

The Christmas lights will not be switched on until the X-factor is taken off!
I don't think we'll see Christmas lights released until the X-factor is out of the way. Coldplay are smart enough to realise no decent song has won Christmas no.1 for a long time since X-factor came along. 2010 may be different, since there's a Twitter/ Facebook campaign for the Pogue's Fairytale of New York to win - seeing as it's the 10th anniversary of Kirsty's passing. I would love that song to be no.1, but I'll predict Coldplay won't release their Christmas lights this year either.

The BRITs 2010 Thread
No, they did not show up to the awards at all this year. I think it was a great decision not to attend, the Brits really have become a joke. It's like a lot of things in the UK, we've all been told over the last 10 years+ that really the UK is too stuffy and formal, so the pendulum has swung too much in the other direction. If you want to see a music awards ceremony which is done with style and panache nowadays, the Grammys does it far better than the Brits. The Brits is still stuck in a 2000- "Cool Britannia" timewarp, that still thinks tacky crap (like we saw at the Millenium Dome) is cool. They have even tackier presenters and has-been stars attending. Coldplay showed their style by not attending. :)

Does Chris Martin Use Twitter?
I always thought that Chris wasn't that keen on the Internet and Twitter, so I guess this must be one of the many fake accounts - see: http://twitter.com/Chris_Martin_ ???

Arise, Sir Chris?
I have mixed thoughts about the idea of Coldplay receiving such an honour. Would Coldplay like it do you think? I'm not sure it sits well with Chris' irreverent humour, but then again I could easily see him turning up to the palace in his 18th century outfit as an in-joke. Do you think Coldplay would like to be in the New Year's honours list? Would be a good thing or not?

Coldplay: the acoustic and instrumental versions - would you buy it?
LOL, an obvious question here perhaps :) ! Just wondered how popular the acoustic and instrumental versions are!

Coldplay: the acoustic and instrumental versions - would you buy it?
After hearing the gorgeous version of Yellow @ Mountainview I wondered if this acoustic version of Yellow was available - or had even been recorded in the studio? That and the gorgeous instrumental versions of VLV and LIJ we've heard on documentaries etc. So would you buy an Acoustics and Instrumental version EP of VLV?

Christmas Lights?
Any sign of this for release this Christmas? On another Christmas note, does any one else remember the gig Coldplay did @ the BBC in December 2004, that was shown endlessly over the Christmas period via the "red button" on the diital channels?

Morten Harket (A-ha): Chris Martin is not a sombre guy
I was teased for liking Aha back in the 1980's but can't say that's the case now for Coldplay.

Chris Martin sitting on a Christmas No.1 classic?
So he's a bit of a technophobe then?

Pet Shop Boys New EP to feature cover of Viva La Vida
Will the video include Neil "camply conducting" Colplay's Viva La Vida from the balcony at the War Child gig? If so, priceless! :)

Morten Harket (A-ha): Chris Martin is not a sombre guy
A-ha, I saw a-ha! I was lucky enough to see A-ha live as they came to my home town as part of a Satuarday Morning Superstore roadshow (remember that?!) one Saturday. I loved A-ha's music back then and still do! I can't think why anyone who think Chris sombre. Pensive yes, but not sombre.
