  1. So we got chatting to the security guards. Concern grew about which gate was to be let in first (given we were furthest from the stage). F and G was about as far as from the stage as you can get. Mimmx comes up with a plan... Front row, then C-Stage, then Jonny's ramp! I love it when a plan comes together....
  2. Thanks! I was wearing a yellow top (but not a Coldplaying T-Shirt) and was standing next to KissesBirds.
  3. There's plenty of peeps to give them out to (and they went very quickly!
  4. The Queen of Glowsticks gets her collection ready.... it's gonna be one bright party in there tonight!
  5. KissesBird and i got chatting about we got into Coldplay in the first place. For me, I started listening to them in 2000 when I heard Yellow playing in the background and their music really struck a chord with me when I was working on a video for a party. I thought "I must find out who they are and get their album". Back in 2000 ,whilst I was a fan of their music and bought Parachutes, I was nowhere near the fan I am today: Viva La Vida was to change all that for me Viva La Vida is something of a deeply personal album for me, that came at exactly the right time in my life following a bereavement. There are many reasons why fans go out of their way to queue at early hours to see their favourite band. For me: this was my personal way of saying thankyou to the band. I've travelled extensively for business across the world in the past, and i know how tiring it can be. It means you're endless days on the road, adjusting to different time zones and climates and whilst fun the downsides are you are cut off from your friends and family. This was Coldplay's homecoming finale, and I wasn't missing it for anything....
  6. Other Coldplayers soon arrived: (L to R): TheAngie, Mimmx and KissesBirds: Angie takes objection to some bad press about Jonny: :)
  7. There may have been others milling around,, but I was the first for my queue! This was the scene just beyond the entrance for gates F & G!
  8. The day started early for me (for a Saturday! :)), I left home at 7:50 for the first part of my journey to London: a journey down the M1 to Harrow. I had LeftRightLeftRighLeft playing in the car for the journey down, which only heightened my sense of excitement and anticipation, but would I get my wish of a front row place? After I parked the car I walked through a shopping centre to the tube station: I could hear Viva La Vida playing out from one of the shops (yet to open). A good sign I thought! Arriving at Wembley just after 9:15am it seemed like I was one of the very first to arrive, see:
  9. Instrumental Viva La Vida Plus did anyone else notice the return of the instrumental only version of VLV (first heard for last year's Christmas Blackadder documentary)?
  10. Funny moments? There were some really funny moments in this show... some intentional , some not..... Chris demonstrating how he wrote Yellow ended up more like a homage to Les Dawson! Chris: "My dad was at a dinner the other day and someone asked him: 'What do your sons do for a living?' 'Well' he replied, 'one's a banker, and the other an international rock star'. 'Really?' he replied.... 'Which bank' " :laugh3: Guy: "I love to go running on Hampstead Heath, I spend a lot of my time here.." :o :laugh3:
  11. Awesome concert! This was an awesome gig! I'm glad I made it to the final (official anyway) VLV gig and that the early start payed off. Thanks to KissesBirds and Angie, and Miimmx (sp?) for their cameraderie and tales from the road on tour during the long wait (which went very quickly!). I am truly envious you had so many gigs to go to Stateside. It was great also to meet many fellow Coldplayers for the first time, Ian and Jen, Chavi and Carla but shame Pete we missed each other again! I vote we have a post VLV tour catch-up some time in London? Words cannot express how much I felt about last night's gig: a mixture of exhilaration, excitement, and bitter-sweet sadness that VLV has come to an end. Thanks to Coldplay and Crew for putting on such an awesome tour and continuing to write such fantastic songs! Looking forward to the next album.
  12. Good question... 8-9?? Who else is queuing early on the 19th?
  13. Coldplay on the South Bank Show: ITV1, 10:15pm, Sun 20th Sept Just noticed this for Sunday from the ITV website: "Melvyn Bragg presents an intimate portrait of Coldplay, one of the biggest selling bands in the world. The film follows them for six months as they tour Japan, and record their new Brian Eno-produced album, taking in the Brits, the Grammys and the massive Warchild concert along the way. Melvyn talks in depth to the band members, and the film crew goes to the group's original student flat in Camden, and the nearby Dublin Castle where they played their first gig. With contributions from DJ Steve Lamacq and U2's Bono. " Looking forward to this, it will be the end of a great Coldplay weekend! :)
  14. Spare ticket going If it helps those wanting to queue early, I have 1 spare standing ticket going. The price would be face value + PP - PM if interested. Who is meeting up, and at what time on Sat to guarantee front row? If anyone would like to meet up early PM me as I'm keen to be a front-rower this time round (after being right at the back @ the 02 gig last December!)
  15. I'd rather hope Coldplay's would be nicer and more liberal than the average band's! :)
  16. Camera policy @ Wembley? Is there a camera policy at Wembley? Can you take a decent camera in (i.e. one with interchangeable lenses)?
  17. Wembley 19th: one ticket One ticket for Wembley 19th - standing. £65 ono. Already delivered, but currently away from home so will be pay and collect on the day If you're interested please PM
  18. Live DVD + videos please! Great! But pls pls pls can we have the accompanying music videos that go with the album, and for VLV both versions! The alternate version for VLV with Chris as King just rocks and is better than the official one, IMO!
  19. Chris Martin will always have my respect because he sticks up for his family. I remember the gauding he had from British paparazzi scum in Jan '08 and how he responded. If someone had gauded me in the same way about mine I'd have responded in the same way. Chris deserves respect for the way he respects and safeguards his family. These guys are human, and the paparazzi had something go wrong at birth that makes them not! :)
  20. I think Chris has a fantastic voice but agree with the length of tour also this time contributing it is getting worse. It's most noticeable in live performances of VLV in my opinion, where he sometimes just half-talks the lyrics, and seems out of breath. I don't know why VLV should be harder than the other songs to get spot on live, but it is. At the 02 gig in December last year I didn't notice a problem with Chris' voice until they did VLV
  21. Last night I noticed someone in the bar wearing a 19th century style military jacket: green, with gold buttons and yellow igsignia. (and no it wasn't Will Champion! :) ) - sadly I'm noticing more and more military style jackets of late in the UK, have Coldplay started a fashion here?
  22. Does anyone know if it's possible to use customisable/ MP3 ringtones for iPhones?
  23. Hilarious! How could Bono know this in any case: is he implying he shares a bed with Chris? :) Bono should watch himself drunk on the Brits Encore before commenting on anyone else, even in "jest"
