  1. That may be so, but it's a bit silly to expect a fan to make a video about their favourite band and for some of the "love" not to spill over into the creative process! I bet the videos with the "We hate Coldplay: they suck" aren't doing too well either! :)
  2. Three observations: - Aren't bathrooms/ ensuites in America absolutely fabulous? I love your counter-sunk sinks , full length mirrors and marble counters. America may be broke but it still leads the way in ensuite bathrooms! :) - The actor is very handsome, not sure I understand the narattive though - You're lucky to be blessed with such an arid climate where you live!. If you trudged through a field in November wearing a suit in the UK, you'd look like you just been in WW1!
  3. Does anyone know if the new entries uploaded since Saturday are going to be reviewed/ added to Coldplay's favourites? It's been stuck @ 201 since Saturday. There seems to be quite a few peeps peeved at the mo, that nothing has been reviewed/ added since Saturday: - is the roadie reviewer sick? - is the roadie reviewer sick of reveiwing videos - has Coldplay's email server crashed under the weight of entries this last Saturday? - Is Chris Martin sick of listening to to Lost? over and over?
  4. I like Chris Martin for the reasons you mention... I get the impression (though I've never met the guy) that he genunely cares about other people. You can see this in his dealings with the other band members, and the care he shows regarding the wellbeing of others - be it his family - or the wider context like his charity work or the environment. A lot of the bad press he gets in the UK eminates from the simple fact that a lot of people don't seem to like nice guys here. I'm not one of them, and I like the fact that an in indifferent age Chris stands up and is counted for what is right - irrespective of any commerical pressures he may have. He's probably one of the most genuine and thoughful people who just happens to be a celebrity. He's also highly intelligent, sarcastic and charming too which puts him in a very small club IMO (I'd put Stephen Fry in a similar category).
  5. Indeed. Also, if the video is solely about Revolutionary France, haven't they've rather overlooked the meaning of the song "Lost?" I think their efforts would be better directed at a video for the song Viva La Vida!
  6. The video for Somewhere Only We Know is soooo Coldplay
  7. I had an idea life in Texas would be like that but thought that was a silly British prejudice! :)
  8. OK you win, when you put it in that context! :) Are you the lone Democrat voter in Texas? ;)
  9. Chris' little finger is funnier than the whole of Toss and the irony is Chris isn't even trying to be funny...
  10. I wish Woss was off my screen. (it's easier to be subjective on this when you don't directlly fund his salary!)
  11. Possibly. I've just never found Woss funny and I don't know why the idiot is payed so much to equally fawn and insult his guests. I remeber he called Chris once a "bloody fairy". That's reason enough to dislike Toss!
  12. I beg to differ, since Andrew Sachs did originally complain to the BBC. Forget the 42,000 complaints. He complained and that's all that matters.
  13. I rather liked this acoustic version of Viva La Vida.... [ame=http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lio0YbTi87g]YouTube - Coldplay - Viva La Vida (acoustic) on iTunes[/ame] reminds of us of what a beautiful song it is! (it remains my most listened to of the album, and nearly six months on, i can't get this beautiful melody and thought provoking lyrics out of my head!). It's the song of 2008 for me!
  14. I'd forgotten that Jonathan Toss overstepped the mark with Chris' wife as well back in May...http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/nov/21/russell-brand-jonathan-ross
  15. I'd like to think that Coldplay are not motivated by money at all. I've always seen them as a band who love what they do , have fun doing it, and the money has just been a bonus. I really don't think Chris' soul is motivated by money at all. He really doesn't come across that way. He may be one of the richest men in Britain, but I constantly see someone driven by perfection and artistic desire. I've always liked the idea that Coldplay are a band done good bewildered and bemused by their own success.
  16. I didn't know Chris (or is it Guy Berryman?) was such a wiz with Photoshop these days! :)
  17. Aren't those two statements linked!! I think it's a prank (say he crossing everything!)
  18. Please Chris let i be a joke Chris Martin, I hope it's another wind-up We love your music man, not your hair (or lack thereof!) Viva La Vida's the top of your game, and if you're chasing U2, they're still going and producing some great music still Please don't stop the music... Coldplay gives us Life in Technicolour, and without it, we'd be Lost.
  19. Breaking news this morning: triple stabbing and mass fight @ 02 - we all know we live in a knee-jerk society these days so I hope the O2 gigs next month are not affected, see: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20081116/tuk-triple-stabbing-at-music-awards-dba1618.html
  20. ... David Cameron's remark to Brown was very funny I thought today... "So when you called the President elect to congratulate him on his victory, I suppose you didn't tell him "now was no time for a novice!?"" :)
  21. Wonderful! That settles it: Viva La Vida for the victory concert please in Jan with a montage of the disasters of the Bush era and the hope of the Obama one.
  22. I'm overjoyed at the result, and look forward to the victory concert in January 2009 (didn't Obama offer Coldplay the gig, I had read somewhere?) Would love to hear Viva La Vida played at that concert, albeit with perhaps modified lyrics (it's a wonderful uplifting song, but I don't think "never an honest word, and "I know St. Peter won't call my name " would be appropriate for Obama (unless Coldplay play it to pictures of Bush! :)) The USA has given me some of the happiest days of my life: I have family in California, Nevada and Florida (all Democrat, I'm proud to say) and have spent time in all 3 states. After the fear and decisive politics of the last 8 years, I'm so happy for what has happened for the US last night.
