Musicians and drug abuse is hardly a new thing though, look at the Stones,Keith Moon(ok so he didn't do too well) most rock bands in the 80s had terrible drug problems. So what can they do if they demand your details, to which you say no possibly followed by go fuck yourself, then walk off.They don't have any power to detain you it seems a rather pointless really except a few interfering busy bodies will probably end up with bloody noses.
