Guitarist Joe Satriani sues Coldplay for plagiarism
As much as I want to instantly side with Coldplay, I *do* hear the similarity. If it's enough to warrant a suit... I don't know. I feel bad for Chris though. I hope this doesn't become a big circus. George Harrison fans will remember he was sued by The Chiffons over "My Sweet Lord" (a "Viva la Vida"-style hit single). George described the legal proceedings as terrible... as 'expert' after 'expert' stood up to tear apart every second of his song, he began to doubt himself and his own heart/talent. Can Chris Martin withstand this type of torture? Eek.

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
"Amsterdam" or "Strawberry Swing"

Gah! They ALMOST Did It!
I love what's there -- very atmospheric, gorgeous song -- but I do get what other people are saying. There was potential for this to be epic. Instead, it settles for being a nice (small) song. Perfectly fine. What I find baffling -- why did they bother naming "Poppyfields"? Not a big deal, just weird seeing as it easily passes as a part of "Prospekt's March." I wonder why they didn't give a separate name to the last few seconds of "Cemeteries of London" now. lol

Viva/PM Deluxe surprise: Future Shop...EIGHT COPIES ONLY
Best Buy wouldn't sell me the EP this morning. lol They *insisted* they couldn't sell it until 11/25. They didn't have any of the other 11/24 new releases (such as the new albums from The Killers and Kanye West) out either. Hope they lost lots of $ being asses. BTW, the Best Buy dude mentioned they had ten copies of the EP in the back. Surprisingly low number... Thankfully Target was sharper and had the EP for sale ($8.99). It's brilliant.

Prospekt's March released early?
Is the CD in stores today? Monday, 11/24? I thought it came out tomorrow. I'm so confused. lol

Coldplay on Saturday Night Live, 25th October 2008
"Viva la Vida" fell a bit flat tonight. It just wasn't a powerful performance. "Lost!," however, was AMAZING. And "Yellow" was nice.

I couldn't agree more. The skits were painful. If one of the greatest bands ever wasn't the musical guest, I never could've endured 90 minutes of such subpar material.

HOLY SH*T! I can't believe they played five seconds of "Lovers in Japan" and cut away. What torture! Still... wonderful night. Loved "Yellow" and especially "Lost!"

Chris is so bouncy. lol "Lost!" sounded wonderful. I was a bit disappointed by "Viva la Vida," but "Lost!" made up for it. It was soulful and majestic.

I want to hear "Lovers in Japan" next. But I would bet anything we will hear "Lost!" With it being the third single and all...

Christ, these skits are so awful. Only the pedophile/Halloween one was amusing. Coldplay was very good though. :)

No, most guests usually play two songs. Expect another performance around 12:50.

CSI 42
It is... and it's set in Vegas. As for majgirl's question: they used the piano-driven first half.
- CSI 42

CSI 42
The original (Vegas) CSI. The scene it played over featured a woman stripping down to her bra and panties, leaping from her balcony, and crashing down on a bus. So, very happy scene. lol

Lost on Ugly Betty
And "42" was on CSI tonight. Coldplay is conquering primetime. lol

CSI 42
Anyone watching CSI? The opening scene of tonight's episode was set to a Coldplay song ("42"). Nice surprise. :)

Radiohead
Thom Yorke's best collaboration was with PJ Harvey, IMO. "The Mess We're In" is an incredible song!

It seems they've also revived "Bullet Proof..I Wish I Was" for the Japanese leg of the tour. Damn - "Fog," "Blow Out," AND "Bullet Proof." Lucky Japanese bastards. ;)

Radiohead
It's wild they played "Blow Out." Beautiful surprise. (I could bitch they didn't choose "Lurgee" though. lol) Happy birthday to Thom! :) :) :) Here's to 40 more.

Oasis Fall Short of Coldplay's Sales Record
I'm happy as long as every record is held by Coldplay, Radiohead, or Oasis. lol All three are great!
