  1. well, the new album is here, entitled "The North" Stars are back, and here is the link to the first listen! http://www.npr.org/2012/08/26/159920580/first-listen-stars-the-north?sc=tw&cc=share Comes out September 4th!
  2. I think the slower songs are a bit better than let's say, 3x3 for example - which still isn't too bad, yet not as good, lol. The bonus ones are great because I don't think 'We're Not Good People' should be the 'closer' because of its aggressiveness
  3. I didn't purge myself into 'xx' but I do enjoy it, and with this album - I think I am going to love it a lot more. Reunion sticks out for me on Coexist and it will do well
  4. agreed with the Healing....definitely buying tickets to their Toronto show soon! :D
  5. haven't posted here in a while, but welcome butterflygirl! U2 for me, was the first band I ever fell in love with, so that will never change, so no matter how much ALL of my friends don't like U2, I always will, which makes the music that much more special for me!
  6. I am a fan of the album - good mixture of all three albums but the guitars are stellar. Love Coliseum's aggressiveness but VALIS, Truth and The Healing are also very good.
  7. Stars Metric Two Door Cinema Club Foster The People Smashing Pumpkins
  8. I am thinking "Every Conversation Within You" may be the album title, but it's all speculation as of right now....I follow Tom on Twitter and his updates are random at times, yet there isn't too much information on other songs that we (as fans) know of. Nothing, Sugar, Two Hearted Spider, The Sting, and the other 2 he played solo....so 6 songs. How many will there be? and it's going to come out next year, 2013, simply because I don't see the record getting done in time, which, yes, is disappointing but worth the wait
  9. I am obsessed with Sugar, it is so aggressive like 'The Big Exit' - I like Nothing, but not too much just yet....Two Hearted Spider got re-worked and I liked the first version, but hey - it still works. The Sting is still just as good in terms of the two versions. Thus, I cannot wait for LP4 from Editors. followed them for years, cannot get enough
  10. ^ couldn't have said it better myself! Hoping they come to Toronto before the year is over because they have no dates announced as of yet on the tour.... also I am planning on starting a little Metric collection of vinyls, etc...
  11. YWY is simply just okay... I like it on the album, but in terms of presence, you are right - it lacks live. Whereas Artificial Nocturne and Speed The Collapse are just sensational. Synthetica is great too, as mentioned before. I still want more material fast, but in all honesty, 2/3 years wait isn't bad for another album.... at least it isn't Coldplay fans obsessing for new music when a records leaks, before the album drops
  12. I will most likely snag those pictures from you, I love Emily! :dazzled:
  13. Nothing But Time is such a stand out live, the drums really bring it in towards the end, and I agree, the older material has just that extra punch which makes you appreciate it so much more with the new songs... and I didn't get to meet anyone after my show since they all partied in the venue after the show, although Joules was having a smoke. AND I forgot to share this earlier, I got her sweat towel she tossed into the crowed, definitely fan-boyed it up and definitely proud of it!
  14. Lost Kitten is fantastic. I saw them twice last week, one free show and another for an invite only show at the Opera House in Toronto which was a full set, just wonderful...I took far too many pictures and got 2 good videos, which should hopefully be posted here; Gimmie Sympathy (Acoustic) [ame= ] [/ame] Gold Gun Girls [ame= ] [/ame] Here is the link to my album on Facebook (let me know if it works) http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150966275594445.438903.510664444&type=1&aft=10150966422479445 I got very close, it was just an AMAZING show, can't believe I have slowed down on a Metric binge, but man oh man - I really love this album
  15. hey thanks! nobody was let in, thankfully because more would have probably been injured. Everyone was waiting in lines prior to the show... mentioned before I had no idea doors were set to be at 5 because there was definitely not thousands of fans there (yet)... It is very upsetting knowing what happened because things like that never should, ever. I do hope they reschedule, but if not - oh well, just more motivation to go next time...
  16. going to Downsview in Toronto very shortly! so excited for this show!
  17. bump. On Monday June 11th Metric is playing at Sugar Beach in Toronto which is home to the radio station 102.1 The Edge; http://www.edge.ca/ConcertsandEvents/SugarBeachSessions/Index.aspx Can't wait, I shall be there hearing the new tunes
  18. I did, still planning with my friend on getting there and when to line-up, etc. and stellar pictures - those are just too awesome
  19. very very jealous - maybe I'll have the similar fortune at Downsview, but who knows
  20. I am talking in generalities here, lol - I am on your side in this case, Viva and TJT are not my favorites either
  21. I am really loving Lost Kitten! The Void and Clone are interesting, but I still can't get through Dreams So Real...eventually
  22. as a piece, I like it a lot. Speed The Collapse, and Breathing Underwater is signature Metric. Artificial Nocturne is the typical long intro song that could be cut, but I like it over Help, I'm Alive. Dreams So Real missed it for me - too repetitive with the "scream becomes a yawn" The Void and Clone seem completely new and I think I am warming up to them - The Wanderlust has to grow too. Nothing But Time and Synthetica are alright, but not too stellar at this point. I think this will be huge, personally.
  23. with these two songs coming after each other on the album, I can't wait to hear the rest of it. I think as an album, it'll flow so well...Metric still does that, has the captivating songs, yet is able to make one record that just has each song coexisting with one another
  24. I liked 'Strangeland'. I don't get why putting rankings on albums in terms of quality matters. I see the aspect of personal interest, don't get me wrong. Because personally, I enjoyed PS by Keane, it was fun and different - not their 'generic' or 'branded' sound - but still entertaining to say the least (minus one or two songs). This was similar to MX and Coldplay. People wanted VIVA #2 but didn't get it. Just enjoy the music the bands make is what I say. There will never be another UTIS, or another Viva La Vida, or another Joshua Tree, or another Turn on The Bright Lights, but hey - they are there and to be enjoyed. Why do we always need more of the same and can't appreciate the evolution of sound and the effort of being creative? - on a side note - I won't go anywhere close to Night Train, LOL :laugh3:
  25. probably a touring guitarist for their shows this summer - getting him (or her) into the rhythm of playing the songs, familiarizing them with Ed, Russel and Tom... I hope he eventually posts a video of a soundbyte of one new song - I am getting impatient!
