  2. I saw the vid and the pics!!! one word: AWESOME :awesome: Seriously, Guy should consider to wear the antlers on CP shows XD and Jonas-robot is just priceless XD
  5. This a grecque legend ^^ I had to read them for my latin class in junior high :) http://www.laprocure.com/cache/couvertures/9782266095082.jpg In France, latin is 'obligatory' (?) during the last 2 years of junior high because french comes from latin, so there is a lot of word, rule grammar and expression that comes from it. And the grecque legends are also studied in french class cause there are a lot of theatre piece which use grecque mythologic figures as characters. And I loved it, it's a fun read! God/hero story are metaphor for our own 'human' problem and they are theme to a lot of European architecture, statues, paintings...so it's part of our heritage. Plus there are a lot of french expression that comes from thoses legend... Example: the word 'narcissistic' cames from the grecque tales of Narcisse, a young beautiful man that loves himself so much, he used to watch his image on the surface of a lake. One day, he finds his reflect so beautiful, he got to close to it and drown. This story gave the word 'narcissistic' (from Narcisse' name) to speak of someone self-centered. Same for the word the term 'scientific' of 'spider'. In french, you say 'arachnée', wich is the name of grecque woman who use to sew tapestry. But her work was more beautiful than the one of a goddess (don't remember the one in question..) that she became jalous and transformed her into a spider. Hence the french word now for it. And there are lot of thing like that, so we are 'bond' to learn them, it's part of our cultural background :) As for Thésée story, it's well known for the Arianne/Minotaure thing (french expression with Arianne's thread) and Phèdre story is also a theater piece that I red for school in high school ^^ Here is Thésée's legend in english: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theseus With the Minautore (monster Thésée killed because children and women where offer in sacrifice to it) Actually the Minautore lived in a maze built by a guy called 'Dedale'. And in french, to say 'maze', you can use the word 'dedale' (but it's 'old'), we usually say 'labyrinthe').... Anyway, that's it! I'm babling...
  6. You could pick one of his toys that make a noise or music and press it when there is a swear word...
  7. Glad to help :D @Mimixxx: XDDD
  8. Me too!!!! And if he's dead, what a shitty death... :dozey: +100000 Ben is evil again....Hope he will die a long and painful death :veryangry2: My Desmond is rocking on the parallele world :awesome: That man is ace! As for Jack taking Jacob's place...Mouhahahaa I KNEW IT!! I've said it here I believe..it was too obvious! But Jacob hasn't told Jack how to choose and 'convert' another candidate (the priere and all)
  9. You could read it to baby Sammy.... One stone, two birds :P
  10. Peut-être Mounira, c'est une méga fan de Muse ^^
  11. Confirmation it is and look what they say about this: First day: sex scene with Henry... and they say 'poor girl'???!!! seriously, I'm volonteering for the job  No Thésée was not a god but a hero (in the mythological sense of it...so human). Even if he could be Poséidon's son (which is not sure and would make him half-god). Anyway, Thésée is famous for killing the Minotaure which lived in a maze and he got the help of Arianne (and er legendary string) to get out of it. At his return, he should have changed the flag on his boat to show his father, king Egée, he was alive after the Minotaure thing but he forgot so his father killed himself by jumping on the sea (which he gaves his name: Egée). After that, Thésée 'forgot' his supposely beloved Arianne on a island and he end up marrying the queen of the Amazones, with which he had a son Hippolyte. When his wife died, he married Phèdre (Arianne's sister). And here begins another great grecque tragedy when Phèdre fell in love with Hippolyte (young man at that time) and make advance to him. He don't return it so she accuses him of rape...hence Thésée cause his son's death before he learn that Phèdre was lying... Phèdre then commit suicide... But I don't think they will quite follow the story here since they seems more focus on the gods (WTF?) and Freida Pinto is a priestess so again WTF?? I don't think Arianne and stuff are on the movie... :inquisitive: Like always, it's america revisiting grecque legends, so it's a bit of  --edit----- Ok, here the script of the movie: Ok, so this really WTF!! Thésée NEVER battle the Titans...(btw, this is going to be 'clash of the titans n°2' XD). And I saw that Frida will play Phèdre.... so again BIG  WHY Hollywood can just follow the original legend??...This will probably be a shitty movie but at least, Henry will make up for it!!
  12. I did the same thing :D But I won't get my hopes up cause I think I red somewhere (oracle??) that the band will never publish an autobiography... Anyway, I'm only on chapter 2 but Matt cracks me up
  13. thx Paula! I'm tired, my brain is on coma mode... :embarrassed:
  14. I haven't seen the vid yet since I haven't got itunes...(and don't want to DL it just for this...) I'll check the chick forum tonight to see if Denise has ripped it...
  15. /back! Sorry I haven't time yet to post my review on Flo's gig in Hammersmith... *shame on me* So I'll try to be short! I was in standing section but in the circle ring (which means at the top of the mount everest.... so Flo was 'small' to me XD but I had a pretty good view of the stage ^^ She arrived in the disco ball she had for the Brits act with Dizzee Rascal and started with Howl. And I must say, I was impressed by the brit crowd (which rather dull usually), everybody jump of its seats when she arrived and stayed up during all the concert! Everybody was singing loudly, it was very lively!! loved it! Flo had more musicians (string section and chorists), the back pan behind the drummer changed with little stars shining druing Cosmic love and as for Flo's dress: black short thing during the concert and her long black holed combi of the Cosmic Love vid for the encore. She sang all the album + Swimming and her new song Strangeness & charm, that is AWESOME live! No need to say that Flo was just incredible...!! WHAT A VOICE, a stage presence and a great entertainer!!! Had a real blast! I haven't managed to take a decent pic (too far way and Flo's dancing hasn't helped XD) but here my blurry attemps XD Too shorts vids: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI0NlHQenE8]YouTube- Flo on drums @Hammersmith 15/05/2010[/ame] Encore: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVtRsfEpiaM]YouTube- Rabbit Heart @Hammersmith 15/05/2010[/ame] So to conclude, it was just magical!!! And cherry on the cake..there *might* be a DVD of the 3 Hammersmith shows!! Don't get your hopes up but fingers crossed!
  16. Got mine too today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :awesome: I can't wait to be back home and starts reading!!!
  17. Some video behind the scene of Immortal: http://iamrogue.com/video_blog/onset and a pic Is that Hnery baby in the back.... :sneaky:
  18. +1 for the ungrateful husband!! I don't think he suspected sthg between his wife and Thomas so...WTF?? It's not her fault if the king wanted her! NEW PICS from the dream sequence!!!!! The moms with their kids!! :o
  19. Episode 6!! Catherine Parr is great! Joely is absolutely wonderful in this role!! FINALLY a lady that is fit to be queen! She has the grace and the dignity of our late Queen Katherine of Aragon! But Henry is really mean to snatch her from Thomas Seymour.... And now the war is declared between England and France.... :dozey: Henry still believe he can beat Francis... :laugh3: My heart ached when Charles spoke to Lady Mary of his wife... Don't worry baby, the french woman will heal you :D Preview for the next episode, always on showtime site ;) :bomb: /\_/\__/\_______________________ We must thank the director: SHORT HAIIIIIIIIIIIR :smug: So now, the movie is called 'immortals'...It has changed of name a countless time XD but Henry will be a great Thésée!!
  20. In Italy: Rome is a MUST see!! Such a beautiful city!!! Feel like it's frozen in time! London is just the most incredible city in Europe, I LOVE this place, it's amazing! Dublin is a good pick too, it's very lively (but the architecture kinda look like London) but the Guinness is better there XD Now, for France, Paris is the town to see even if I don't like it :p I mean it's good to visit but not to live imo (I bet the brits think kinda the same with London). There are many things to see there: Eiffel tower, Les Champs Elysées, Notre-Dame de Paris, Le Louvre, le jardin des Tuileries and of course, take a trip on a fly boat (?) on the Seine ^^ If you're in castle, go to Versailles! But to me, the real beautiful french Renaissance castles are on the Loire Valley (about 200 of them). The most impressiv being le château de Chambord (you can go by train from Paris... about 1h30 or 2 by train...),the 'hunting house' of King Francis... http://www.chambord.org/Chambord-en-idm-1-n-Accueil.html yes, that's quite big for what its use was XD In Spain: Barcelona is beautiful and I like Munich in Germany ^^ You can go to Belgium from Paris via the Thalis (special train that go yo Germany via Belgium)
  21. +1000000000000 But the price has gotten really high with the Euro (when I converted things in Francs sometimes, it's just crazy how thing have become exepensive!!) :laugh3: the 500 billet is rare, only rich people have it (or people that work illegally (black work?)...So shops have special machines to detect if it's a fake. As for the Euro, like fietssleutel said, it would be too expensive to change back (and France will not go back to Franc btw...that's utopic). All economics agree thaht the idea of Euro itself is not bad, but the way it was done (the rules with et..) was just doomed right from the beginning... It was sure it will fail. And France, Spain and other country will be in the same situation as Greece in a few years.....
  22. I know....  :bomb: I went a little on her forum last nigt and *apparently* there might be a DVD... :awesome:
  23. My copy is on the way too  But I manage to have a glimpse of it at Waterstone this WE in London and the little I red was ACE!!!
