The reason why I am saying that they'll win at least two is because I do not see them losing to Linkin Park and the Eagles, though both groups are good and I do happen to like. Alicia Keys is the one that could prevent them from getting all four awards. As I stated before, the AMA's are not like other music award shows. Music fans vote for the winner, not the idiots in the music industry. I'm not saying that fans are smarter than the music execs because that is not true. But, in this case the fans normally do vote for the artists that have sold the most. I think with the EMA's and other shows, people get too overconfident because they are thinking about the numbers and that the numbers means awards. Unfortunately, in those other shows numbers really mean nothing. I for one was not confident with the EMA's and I can assure you that I won't be confident when it comes to the Grammy's. However, with all my experience, I am confident with this award show. BTW....red carpet starts in 25 minutes.

I don't know why anyone is nervous about them being snubbed because Coldplay will win at least two awards. The only ones they may not win are in the categories where they are up against Alicia Keys, who also had an awesome CD this year, but they might beat her. The AMA's is not like the Grammy's and other music award shows. The AMA's always have two different performers...one set of performers who want to showcase their new songs and the other set of performerns who are there because they're the winners. Very rarely has there been a performer who performed while being nominated and did not win. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen but it rare. If it does happen it's only for one or two awards for different artists. I'm confident that they'll win and if they don't, well, I guess I'll just have to eat my own words.

Gwyneth stated on Oprah that her family, not 100% positive about Chris, do eat two legged animals such as turkey and chicken.

Why do you have a bad feeling about them? I think they'll last. The fact that they don't live in Hollywood is one thing they have going for them. Now, I don't know the affect of living in London is when it comes to the pressure of being in a relationship but living in Hollywood is brutal for a lot of relationships.

As much as I want to hear it, I would rather wait for my copy to come in the mail instead of getting off the web. Sorry, but I think this debacle proves it would be better to wait.

I think they are a target for the press is because Gwyneth puts up a front/image that their marriage is so perfect and if everyone does what she does than their man won't leave. I know there was something about that recently and those comments upset a lot of wives. The point is all relationships have problems, and if a relationship does not have any problems than there is a problem. The problems don't have to be big to where it would cause the relationship to fail but to make it seem like everything is all dandy, perfect and like paradise is just providing ammunition for the haters. But, if she would come out and say, which she does not need to do, that there they do have some problems because of their careers and at times it is hard than I think the pressure would ease off them. As for the ring...I have never seen him without his ring but if he does not wear his ring in concert than that should not be a big deal. If he's not wearing it in public could it be that the ring might be getting tight or too loose for him to wear? BTW...Is there a pic of him without his ring in public?

Yeah, I know. I was just saying how that picture is interesting from that analytical point of view. It could be at that time, in that momnet, that they were all experiencing problems in their relationships, but another picture could show that things at that moment were all fine and dandy. Personally, I don't get into the personal stuff so I don't know a lot but isn't Guy just separated and not divorce? I thought I had read that somewhere on this board. Plus, you know just because someone is engaged and about to have a baby does not mean there are no problems in a relationship. You know...I think I have been watching too much Maury Povich lately. LOL!!! I normally don't do this but I am bored.

Well, I haven't seen Chris without his wedding ring but then again I am not normally looking at his hands. Anyway, Chirs not wearing his wedding ring is not that big of a deal depending on the situation. If he's not wearing it during a concert than there's nothing wrong with that because many athletes and other performers take off their rings so they won't damage it. However, if he has been seen in public without the ring than I would say that there could an issue. Also, that picture from the premiere is interesting. You know they say that you can analyze one's relationship by how the couple are holding, posing, kissing, touching, etc one another. I'm not trying to start anything since that picture is a few years old but it is interesting from an analytical point of view.

Well, the thing about filming a show in Spain is that she only spent a day or two in Spain filming each segment. That is what she and Mario both have said so it's not like she was gone all summer long. I'm trying to defend her but the article makes is sound like she was gone all summer long. IMO, just because she and kids visited Chris does not mean that things are good between them but it does not mean that things are bad between them. It just means that the family got together recently. I have to be honest...I don't care for her close friendship with Madonna. I can't put my finger on it but something is not right. She seems to be awfully close with Madonna and, IMO, Madonna is not the person I would want my spouse have a close friendship with. But then again, that is just me.

This was one hard decision to make because their music is like fine wine...it keeps getting better as it ages. My vote went to Hey Jude because I think that is one of the all-time greatest rock songs ever made. It transcends all boundaries...from race to nationality. It just grabs a hold of you and you have to sing along at the end of the song.

I was on another forum (sports forum) and someone created a thread in the Off Topic section about this. What really bugs me is that everyone that has posted in that thread are happy that Chris said that he was going to retire. I conclude from those comments in that thread just proved to me that those folks really are stupid and I am the smartest person in that forum. Anyways, I hope it's not true because Coldplay is one of the few musicians in today's music era that actually make quality music. I would hate to see all that talent and musicianship to disappear that early. The music industry needs Coldplay and true music lovers need Coldplay.

If they don't sing VLV it won't be because the song is overplayed. It is the most popular and recognizable song from this year so they might be asked to perform it. Remember...this is a Dick Clark production and he might ask them to perform it and I doubt the band would turn down his request or any of the producers request to sing that song. I personally wouldn't mind hearing it again and again and again and again. LOL!! I just can't get tired of hearing that song so it wouldn't bother me. Also, the performers normally sing their most popular and requested songs at the AMA's, so this song may be it. I would prefer to hear Lost or Lovers in Japan but I really don't care just as long as they perform.

Though it's a little early but I just wanted to put out the reminder that Coldplay will be performing live on the American Music Awards this Sunday, 23/11/2008. I wonder what song they will be performing live? I would love to hear Lost or Lovers in Japan but I think Viva La Vida will the song they will be singing. I will say that it is a safe bet that Coldplay will win at least one award. From my experience of watching this show the artists that perform normally win an award. Other scheduled performers are: Christina Aguilera - yuck! Beyonce - I know Chris likes her but I am not that big of a fan of her music Alicia Keys - I really like her music Pussycat Dolls - isn't this really just a one-woman group? The other girls just dance so what really is their purpose being in the group? New Kids on the Block - LOL!!! Ne-Yo - I don't know much about him but I do like his song Closer The Fray - they're ok Annie Lennox - I like her stuff but I didn't know she put out a CD this year Kanye West - Hate the man and his huge ego. Mariah Carey - I don't like her but I'll bet she'll wear a dress that is too small. So small that her chest could pop out at any moment. Miley Cyrus - Boo! Jonas Brothers - Boo!! Leona Lewis - I'm still debating about her. Pink - I like her Rihanna - I don't care for her either Taylor Swift - I don't know anything about her except she got dumped by one of the Jonas's Brothers.

Interesting to see that there's more of Guy in this version than the original video. LOL!! I'm not complaining though but it's nice.

They'll be nominated for some awards but will they win I don't know. The Grammy's are notorious for not rewarding the artists that truly deserve the award. The Grammy's lost a lot of respect in the previous years for their choice of winners but they're working hard to gain it back. Coldplay should be nominated for Album, Record, Song, Pop/Rock band (whatever category they are put in), Rock/Pop songs of the year (yeah, there is a different category for that) and Brian Eno and the rest should be nominated for Producer of the Year.

I have no problem with your view and I totally respect it. I really liked how you express yourself in your post. Though I voted for Obama, I totally agree with you on always being proud to be an American. I am so tired of hearing people say that now they feel proud to be American. I may not like the government and how it does and runs things, but I've always been proud to be American because it is my identity. Funny thing is.... if only people voted like this four years ago then we might not have been in this mess but we'll never know. LOL!!
