I feel mixed at the thought of Coldplay covering MJ. On one hand, it would be fitting since they admired his work so much, but on the other hand, they're so...different. I'm just not sure it would sound right.

Raise the standards of your exports a bit! :P (no offense to any Canadians, who besides Nickelback, are awesome people :D) Seriously, if Optimus Prime sang Nickelback songs and started thrashing metal parts of his body around, I might not be able to tell the difference between that and Chad Kroeger. Everyone has their one artist they hate above all others. For some, it's Miley. For others, it's the Jonas Lovers/Brothers. For me, it's Nickelback. I might have tolerated "How You Remind Me" at one point, but unlike Coldplay, I believe the unfathomable hatred of Nickelback is fully justified. Let this thread continue and let more firewood be tossed into the bonfire, I say. :sneaky:

Bagged a pair of tickets to their final show of the NA tour in October. After backing out of getting tickets for U2 or The Killers, I'm glad I'm finally gonna go see a non-Coldplay live show this year. Can't wait. And hey, I turn 21 just 3 days beforehand, so it'll be a happy birthday to me. :P On another note, lately I've really fallen in love with "Somewhere a Clock is Ticking".

It's a pretty disturbing trend I see often with talk after celebrity deaths, actually. :thumbsdown:

I'm surprised they didn't get a quote from Jay-Z. Still cool to see some appreciation in the music business as opposed to all the Joe Satrianis and the Liam Gallaghers, etc.
