  1. waited most of th night and morning for a ticket to the Koko gig. Damn it was a long one.
  2. Yes, I also don't wan't 50 similar versions of clocks :) Still think Such A Rush is undescribably better tan twisted logic :P :). I hope they bring it back to their live show eventually, coz they did try to play it in soundcheck. I think if a new recording of that song is made it would be great, but i don't think that's going to happen. Yes, it has gone slighty off topic but it's all heathly here...
  3. haha. Yes, I hope :) Also.....Lucky by Radiohead might seem a 'ballad' but it has a much darker sound with very good lyrics and also a more sophisticated and clever composition and musical parts.....and really isn't a ballad in the same way. I think alot of very early original coldplay fans, including myself, would prefer coldplay to go this way as alot of their earlier songs (including the Parachutes album) have some pretty cool and clever chords and musical parts and some of their songs have driffted a bit from that. Songs like X&Y are ok and it starts well, the verse melody is great and jonny's guitar parts in the instrumental break are great too but that song could have been soo much better. I always think back to the great musicallity they showed on early songs and I really was drawn to that when I first heard songs like such a rush, and shiver etc....I'm not saying that they have lost all that now but certain songs from X&Y just needed that bit of extra work & Twisted Logic is lacking something and really didn't need to be on the record. They have some very, very good work outside of their albums, crests of waves, I ran away, idiot, murder, careful where you stand and songs like easy to please are top notch songs.
  4. Yes, I know - I'm with you on that one.....I can't believe people actually use that in arguments. It's like when elderly people use the "You should listen to me, I've been here alot longer than you". Then even when you explain to them why they are wrong, they say "Don't talk back and respect your elders".
  5. No......they didn't. And I'm not nessessarly saying coldplay deserved to get them all either.
  6. yes :D , shame that it was when I was giving a well deserved rant :smug:
  7. Well I wasn't really trying to say it was U2's against Coldplay's.... :/ BUT.. the fact that it's so obvious that these albums would get nominated at such overly hyped and pretentious awards just because the bands are the biggest....whatever type of drab U2 want to put out...if they tour it enough and put on huge shows that are filmed and attract alot of attention - they are always going to get nominated for such awards and probably win.....and it isn't a great album, it just isn't.....people can like it but it's not great. Great albums are remembered and referenced as fantastic moments for years to come (and not just by idiots)...and I can say without doubt that the last U2 album rates pretty low. I think Coldplay made a pretty good album and I really love alot of the songs but it could have been "great" if they had chose to go start with "square one" and make the album rise even futher from there...oh and not had Twisted Logic, What If and maybe even X&Y & Fix You as album tracks this time....I think the style of tracks like Sqaure One, White Shadows, Low, Talk (perhaps leak version) are really what the album should have been like this time. (I probably am gonna get slated for that last bit, but fuck it)...Coldplay always have the sense about them that they can go on to do even better things though. Other bands apart from U2 really should have been recognised...and giving all the awards to U2 means nothing really, except to give them more album sales to idoits who see the "Winner of Grammy 2006" stickers on their CD's and other products... :snore:
  8. Yeah, well thankyou :)
  9. No, they didn't. There are absolutely tons of bands who have done far better albums....in truth...the grammys short lists are terrible....I really think award shows are pretty pompous affairs overall and having U2 win is probably about right...there last album wasn't even that good...come on....I don't mind people who like it but really believe it to be pretty shit. I like U2 but I liked them when they used to write rock songs that actually sounded like they meant it. New Year's Day, The Unforgettable Fire, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where The Streets Have No Name, Pride (In The Name Of Love) are all songs that U2 need and if they didn't have those songs to play live then they really wouldn't still have the older fans, well, they would have some=those who really are blind to see anything bad that they do because they have become so obsessed. They didn't deseve it, Coldplay really should have got at least say 1 award and there should have been a focus on much better music rather than the size of the bands fanbase who will all gladly tune in on TV to watch them....typical. The U2 special treatment makes me sick.
  10. I really think the last U2 album was poor (except A Man & A Woman)....I can't help thinking of how great they used to be. really.
  11. well, I went to a couple of UK gigs in December and I just remember 'Tomorrow Never Knows' by The Beatles......'La Ritournelle' by Sebastien Tellier........and they played 'Goodnight' by The Beatles at the end. All the others are a distant memory now.
  12. I really hope they don't do something silly and put HYSTW on the B-side of The Hardest Part. I wan't more new studio song's. The last album's singles had so many great ones. AND...this should be in the B-Sides section.. :/
  13. haha, the two gigs in December I went to I queued for 8 hours and there were still a couple of people there before that. But then again, I had nothing better to do :(
  14. yup, I noticed that a while back.
  15. it's on the original...the one on the Trouble single has a Capo on 2nd fret.
  16. Jonny's little Riff... 17. I can play it but I really can't be bothered to tab the full thing out, but I'll tab jonny's little chorus riff out if anyone wants it.
  18. Yeah, they are octave's apart but the highest strings sometimes are tuned to the same pitch. You play pretty much the same as you normally would but if you try to play one as a beginner I guess it might take a while to get you hand muscles working - just as the necks are wider - mostly taking about 12-String accoustics there
