Weller makes himself look a bit silly really, slightly ignorant.....when infact he probably isn't. Real music fans can see why what he said is misguided but alot of happy go, only radio listeners will just think back to the overplayed singles. :confused: Slightly irritating.

Yeah, Paul Weller has some great stuff I think but he shows he lack of understanding when he puts James Bland (I mean Blunt ;) ) and Coldplay together like that. Coldplay aren't like Blunt at all. People who think Coldplay are similar to Blunt are WAY off and don't know what they are talking about. There are alot of people who tend to put bands & artists together like that - I guess they aren't listening to the music in the same way I am. Fools.

I just watched smallville from thursday night (season 5 episode 2) and as Lana and Clark get all 'loved up' near the end a Large edited portion of A Message is played.... Nothing really, I know, I was just suprised at the length of the songs usage.

It was instantly a superb track from the moment I heard it. Fairly clever & complexed musically, for Coldplay (although alot of that album was more complexed 'muisc chord' wise :goofy: than AROBTTH = where their 'sound' and physical music ability had grown), anyway yeah, Shiver with such 'simple yet effective' lyrics. Very clever and very good.

Anything Green Day shit out is predictably horrible.

what's the difference between the two versions of Such A Rush?.....Is it the shorter intro?

As said by many before me...these are some of the best songs that band have done. Crests Of Waves :cool:

scrap all the 'bullshit' people.....White Shadows is great song. I said it, so it's true. I'm right and if you think it's shit, your wrong. :P but to the original question....It's hard to discover an overall meaning for this song but over analyising lyrics becomes pretty destructive if you allow yourself to do it too much. If you read alot of lyrics by many artists without the music then a high percentage of them are very abstract and make no sense...but the song can still be great.
