Hey now, Hey now, don't dream it's over
I heard some of Liam Finn when he opened for Eddie Vedder's "Into the Wild" tour. He is very talented, too.

Kings of Leon
They are ok. I met Matthew and Jacob arriving back at their hotel after a show last year. They were both friendly enough; Matthew was certainly the more engaging of the two. I saw Nathan, but he was with his girlfriend (who I think he now married). Anyhow, security asked that I let them be for the evening, so I did not bother them. I met Caleb when he came to town for last year's Grammy Awards. I only got in the question about "Cold Desert". He looked at my 7" single of "Use Somebody" and wanted to know if it was his brothers who had already signed it. I told him "one brother, one cousin". Anyhow, I always had wondered how one could write a song as amazing as Cold Desert and not even remember doing so. In that spirit, and being the dork that I am, I went ahead and asked. He nodded in the affirmative, and confirmed that the story was true, so I told him he should do it more often because that song was kick ass. They march with pretty heavy handed security for a band that has just recently made it big in the states, which might be the only downer. All in all, I have had good experiences. Some of my friends tell me that they have gotten to be more full of themselves over the years, but I can't verify that from my encounters.

Kings of Leon
Yeah, I've met them all but Nathan. I'm still working on my tickets. I don't mind paying extra for PIT tickets, as it's actually a pretty affordable show. I'd pay 25-30% over face for good seats.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
I think that SPIN was from December 2005 or January 2006. It was the year end issue. I got it signed at an in-store the day Sam's Town was released. I just kept going through the line again and again. Every time I went through, I made some type of comment. It's funny, the Killers were in Los Angeles doing a talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, on the release day of both Sam's Town and Day & Age. In fact, they were doing a photo shoot in the back alley before the talk show when I spotted them. No one else was around, but look what I started: [ame= ] [/ame]

Hey now, Hey now, don't dream it's over
Two of my friends are huge crowded house fans. They list their favorite bands and it's like "The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, U2, and Crowded House." It's nuts. I have meant to get around to their albums (I think they only have a few) but haven't yet made it.

^ Thanks for the video on Cold Desert. That was interesting. I had heard that Caleb was drunk and didn't remember recording that song. I actually got to ask him about it one time, and he confirmed it was true. I told him he needs to record all his songs wasted (which I don't think is asking a lot from him) because that song is a gem. Anyhow, I am going to see them this Friday in San Diego. It should be fun.

Kings of Leon
^ The Rolling Stone article on the band a few years back was very revealing. If Caleb sounds contradictory, imagine living with a father who throws everything into something as heavy as religion and then all of a sudden not. Talk about a confusing environment. On a side note, Cold Desert is a bad ass song. That is all.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
Yes and no...I collect music memorabilia, so I've met him several times. He was signing a copy of Spin Magazine for me (he's pictured on a throne; I'll post the picture). As he was signing it, I asked him if there was a chance he'd go back to that look, and he said "maybe". I wouldn't call it a conversation, but I worked in the question, and it seemed relevant to what we were discussing.

KOL are playing 3 shows within a 70 mile radius of my house starting this Friday. I'm hoping to make it to a couple of shows. I have not seen them since they played on the Vertigo tour with U2.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
I still like the tuxedo and make up look of the Hot Fuss days. I once asked Brandon if he was ever going to go back to that look, and he said "maybe". At least he hasn't ruled it out.

:laugh3: I did too the first and maybe second time I saw it. But after awhile, I started to question as to whether it was glued to his shoulders.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
I just watched all the videos on YouTube. They are really, really good. I don't know what's better: Seeing the Killers while they are on hiatus or seeing Brandon without his feather jacket. Probably the former :D

Brandon Boyd solo album: The Wild Trapeze
Interesting. All these signers are doing solo projects. I am a big Brandon Boyd fan. Because this is Incubus related, this thread will sink like a lead balloon.

Radiohead
Radiohead is clever: on one hand I enjoy it, on the other, it annoys the shit of me.

Arcade Fire
I can't believe that Arcade Fire have not announced a Southern California date. Most bands wear SoCal out with constant touring, but I can only recall two occasions when Arcade Fire played here.

Pearl Jam
I couldn't have said it better myself. I agree 100%. But I suppose most message boards are probably that way. They slant to a certain style of music.

Pearl Jam
I think their legacy is safe :) Although, I think only 3 or 4 people keep this thread afloat on CPing
