  1. Nicely done! I don't play any instruments, but if I did, I imagine I would enjoy covering this song. So simple, yet so powerful. Good job.
  2. I finally got my tickets to Arcade Fire. One of the few bands I've always wanted to see but never had the chance.
  3. I love the Foos, but they are so hit and miss. Sometimes their music rocks, other times it's just plain bland. Dave Grohl is the man, though.
  4. ^ :laugh3: Every thread should be required to have Radiohead in the title. I would be very happy if someone would talk about other great bands from the 90s. Nirvana, of course, being one of them. Nevermind, MTV Unplugged, and In Utero are some of my favorite albums ever. Live at Redding is pretty ace, too. Still an overrated band, IMO.
  5. You don't have to be sorry. Do whatever you like. I'm just tired of Radiohead threads. If you want more, go for it.
  6. I was going to say the same thing. Go listen to some other music and post on different bands...please! That's not directed at anyone, just a plea for different conversation.
  7. ^ I don't care about the collection. I have all the beatle albums in the original cd format, and I bought them once again as a remaster. The difference in sound quality is night and day.
  8. ^ Damn, I will probably buy those. All the remastered albums turned out great. I have them all except Beatles for Sale. I love them.
  9. Pretty good cover song: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ov0Ld1nG6PM]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ov0Ld1nG6PM[/ame]
  10. Why? It is one of the best piano songs of all time, and Billy Joel is one if the best rock pianists, too.
  11. I think you're correct - there has always been crap music. It just seems like you need to look harder to find "good music," which I don't think is a positive thing. I remember when all young kids knew the best, most talented bands in the world. Now, it seems like most of the youth go for more crap music, and a much smaller minority seek out the great bands. I mean, a lot of people on this message board have good taste in music, but they are obviously music fanatics and have sought it out. It didn't come to them, they went to it.
  12. ^ Nice job! You are really talented.
  13. Good point. But like we've said before, it's hard to compare any band to Pearl Jam live.
  14. I don't know what the setlist is going to be. It looks like it's been pretty varied...I'm just guessing. I think you'll get a lot out of seeing Slash. The Strokes are great, but they are another Indie band, and I'm sure you've seen plenty of those (even though you should see The Strokes - I've seen them twice, myself). It's good to listen to different types of music live. It's what opens your eyes to different music. From there, you can take it or leave it.
  15. Yeah, that's almost exactly how many they play. It's reasonable, but there are some bands that play more. I would like Radiohead to be one of those bands. Like the Cure or Bruce Springsteen - they play for 3 hours.
  16. Also, I would watch GNR live from the Ritz on YouTube. It's one of my favorite live performances. I relate to GNR, and especially Appetite for Destruction, so much. But I'm from Southern California, and I've spent many a night on the Sunset Strip. Appetite is an authentic, dangerous, sexy, over-the-top, gritty album, and it represents everything that was going on in the late 80s. Like I've said before, watch the "Welcome to the Jungle" video. It is autobiographical in many ways.
  17. I like hearing all the In Rainbow songs, too. It's a great album. But I wish I got to hear other songs. It would be nice if they'd play a longer set. That way, they could accomplish both.
  18. I am not a huge Velvet Revolver fan, which always disappointed me because I love both GNR and STP. Go figure. I'm sure you'll get Slither and Fall To Pieces, which are both good songs. I looked at some of the setlists, and you should get some good songs. It seems like it's a good mixture of Velvet Revolver, GNR, Slash solo, and some good covers. It looks like he's played "Rocket Queen" occasionally, which is one of my favorite GNR songs ever. It also looks like he's playing "Civil War", and I think that's one off the better songs of the Use you Illusion CDs. Of course, you'll most likely get some of the classics like "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Paradise City." Those songs are not only great, but they are really fun live. Two bits of advice: 1. Re-listen to Appetite for Destruction because it is one of the greatest guitar rock albums ever. 2. Go into the show with modest expectations. I've seen Slash solo a couple of times. It's not GNR, but it's a good night of music.
  19. Yeah, and while Creep and High and Dry are not my favorite Radiohead songs, Karma Police and Fake Plastic Trees are. That's why I was so bummed when they played every single track off In Rainbows. It's like, could you cut 1 or 2 songs and play a classic?
  20. Alright, good for you! I don't know about the solo album, but you are sure to get a couple of tracks off Appetite for Destruction. Surprisingly, they are really good when they are played with other people. It's just a great album.
  21. I don't see it as being that bad, either, but I think they should play it more than they do. Most of the general public wants to at least hear Creep, Fake Plastic Trees, High and Dry, or Karma Police. They didn't play one of those songs at the only Radiohead show I ever went to. I was ok with it because I am a hardcore fan, but I think that would be disappointing to someone who is not. And I must say, I was a bit disappointed. I like songs that are nostalgic and take me back to the beginning. It reminds me of when I first got into the band.
  22. I say the same thing all the time. With certain bands, it doesn't matter whether you like them or not. You have to give them credit because enough of the bands you do like have been influenced by them.
  23. ^ 1. I think Radiohead are freaking brilliant, so I understand the praise. 2. I don't think anyone's dumb for not liking them. It's a matter of taste, and I get annoyed at Radiohead fans who tend to be an elitist bunch. 3. Radiohead are great, but there are so many other bands that I like as well. I can't stand when people are asked about their favorite band and they throw Radiohead out there just to be cool.
