  1. exciting nws This is truly exciting news - and not a puppet in sight! Awesome!
  2. Go Susan! This is a heart warming story of an overnight sensation in the British music indusrty. It's been on all the North American entertainment magazine shows and I, for one, am a huge fan of 47 year old Miss Boyle, the self-confessed, unkissed virgin from Scotland. She truly is an inspiration! It was also nice to see the jaws of music snobs drop and tears well up in so many eyes :shocked2:, when she sang the first notes of "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables. She was much better than the actors who sang it live on stage when I saw the production. This Canadian wishes her much success and happiness and we await her first released recording with joyful anticipation!
  3. Please explain what you mean here.
  4. Whew! Whew! Am I the only one who checked their ignore list to see if any names have been added??:lol::lol: Thanks, Ian
  5. resellers and scalpers at work again I think the real story here is not about Michael but about ticketing practices ... again! FIFTY dates at Wembley sold out in a few hours?? I just don't believe that they all went to fans. Why isn't Chris using this opportunity to point out the problems with ticketing that we've been discussing ad infinitum in the NA tour threads. 50 dates! I believe that the re-sellers and scalpers are probabaly buying up huge blocks for later resale at grossly inflataed prices. The working class fan will soon nolonger be able to go to live concerts at all. So sad. And so wrong.
  6. my shortest post ever I thought you were just supposed to follow the light or something.:confused::confused:;)
  7. don't need kids to care about the future That was a great interview (despite the Jonny comment). Just want to mention that while I'm sure parenthood is uniquely transformative, one doesn't need to have kids in order to care deeply about what we're leaving for the next generation. ;)
  8. cudos for this editorial It's great to see this issue aired by the Herald. The reader comments following the online article could easily be confused with those from Coldplaying.com. It seems to me that every link in the ticket-selling chain is deflecting responsibility for the problem to the others links - the band, the promoter, the contracted ticket-sellers and thier sub-entities (e.g. Ticketsnow), the internet, the hackers who misuse the internet to get big blocks of tickets, and us, the fans, who partake in contracted presales. I don't think we can blame the internet. It ony does what people tell it to, so if the problem is hacking, it's the responsibility of the company selling the tickets to secure the process against abuse. And it's the responsibility of the promoter to contractually ensure that. I don't think we can blame the (Coldplay) fan clubs sites. Any information posted about presales is available to anyone who has access to the www. And I don't think we can blame the band. They're perfect! So that leaves us with the promoters and the contracted ticket sellers to blame. In the case of Coldplay, they are so closely linked corporately, and are trying to get even closer (Live Nation is trying to buy Ticketmaster) that they're almost the same entity. We can assume that the motives for both corporations are profit and there's nothing wrong with that unless people get hurt by their business practices. And clearly, fans are being hurt. Someone must take responsibility and stop this outright scam. I have made my thoughts known to them and I suggest that anyone affected by this does so too.
  9. I really hope that "Fix You" is still on the setlist! Do they ever play "Reign of Love" as part of "Lovers in Japan"? Haven't seen it on a setlist and LOVE it!
  10. Good morning everyone: Now I'm asking, Am I a part of the cure? Or am I part of the disease? Can't wait for "Fix You" on July 3oth!
  11. only a fool would buy your tickets I'm not sure about the law regarding intent, but if the transaction goes thtough, it's unlawful, not to mention unethical. Weren't you one of complainers about ticket resellers? And here you are, doing what you earlier condemned. As for "defending this band like it was my life", don't you get it? It's about ethical practices. While I do care very much about Coldplay, they don't need me to defend them. If I'm defending anything, it's ethical conduct, but you're quite clear that you don't care about that. Someone has to speak up about what you're doing - it's WRONG and I, for one (and I know I'm not alone) don't want it happening on this forum. Find a street corner like all the other scalpers do, and take your chances at getting charged by the police (who are increasingly intolerant of it) or of losing your shirt. The majority of your posts have been to sell your tickets for a profit. In one of them, you talk about messing with people to get a better view at a concert. Anyone who does buy a ticket from you is a fool - I wouldn't trust you - period.
  12. unaccetpable behaviour Unless your kidding, I find this really objectionable. One of those "peckers" could be my Mom.
  13. 1) Toronto is one of THE great cities in the world. If you don't like it, you are welcome to leave. Or do you find it easier there to "mess with people" to take what isn't yours (per your earlier post). 2) The law in this jurisdiction (Ontario) clearly prohibits resale of entertainment tickets for profit without a lisence. It doesn't matter whether one is using the profit to recoup the expense incurred by choosing to pay for access to a presale, or to buy groceries. There have been posts expressing displeasure with your sales pitch, but you have disregarded them. I believe this is an improper use of the forum, as well as unlawful in the jurisdution. Please cease and desist.
  14. experiences of great beauty Some people never cry and I think that's sad. I'm 55 and there have been only a few experiences in my life during which the beauty and joy affected me so profoundly that tears were my response then and are still my first response when I think back on them. For me, those tears aren't of sadness but of immense joy and exhiliration. In my opinion (many will laugh at this) you are lucky to have the capacity to expereince beauty and allow it to penetrate your psyche and alter your understanding of life, the universe, and everything. There's only one thing I'd recommend: DANCE! SING! CELBRATE LIFE!
  15. TICKETRUSH PRESALE Not sure if tis has been posted anywhere, but there is a Ticketrush Presale happening now (6:20 PM EST). I wasn't able to get in to see what tickets are on offer because, I'm assuming, I have only a slow dial-up connection. I had called Thursday and asked if there was a presale and they said if it wasn't listed it isn't there. I'd also sent an email asking the same and got a response only now informing me of this presale. You need to link to Live Nation through Ticketrush's "out of service" page. Click on "exclusive offers".
  16. ahh come on! Do you always take things that aren't yours by "messing with people"?
  17. The Argo voucher presale combo page is http://www.ticketmaster.ca/promo/stohdv?brand=torontoargonauts Select the choice on the right for presale - it'll redirect you to the seat selection page.
  18. Got Tickets I actually got my 3 tickets - Section A6 Row 18 - not too shabby. I had to buy 4 Argos vouchers as they wouldn't sell 1 or 3. Not worth the paper they're printed on - why do you think the Argo's needed the presale? My budget is blown, as is my 50 year boycott of North American football, but I am going to see Coldplay!
  19. No TicketRush presale I phoned Live Nation yesterday and was told that if there's no Ticketrush persale option button listed with the other presales, then there is no Ticketrush presale.
  20. And who's the gentleman with the cross on his shirt?
  21. still "the Dome" It's still "the Dome" to me and always will be. I printed the blueprints for it many moons ago. I would fully get behind any movement that levels the playing field of ticket purachsing. The current system run on supply and demand really benefits only a corporate elite  and is in no way is a reflection on the artists.
  22. TicketRush down For the past week or so the Tichetrush site has been down, with the following statement The TicketRush.com site is under maintenance and currently unavailable. Please check again later. The February monthly password is posted and there are links to LiveNation. As this is March 1, I assumed there'd be a new monthly presale password but not so yet. I'm not sure what this means, but wanted to post this info here to confirm it for anyone else experiencing the same. Hopefully it will all be back to normal for our presale.
  23. who knows? There is extensive discussion and expressed frustration on the Molson Amphitheatre thread of this section. If anyone knows what's happening, they're not telling us, the fans, as of 5:30pm GMT.
  24. Where? LiveNation, or for presale, Ticketrush When? Was first announced for Feb 13th - then for Feb 27th with the promise of a confirmation announcement before the 27th. So far, no announcement.
