Maybe on this forum, perhaps. I hardly saw any 13 year old kids at the concerts I attended. If anything they were people in their 20's, 30's, 40's, and older. I just didn't see many teens walking around or jamming out to Coldplay's music. But, naturally, as Coldplay grows in popularity, the age of their fanbase expands, but I don't agree that the demographic has shifted to the majority of 13 year olds.

It happens. I mod at a sims forum where one of the other mods fell in love and married a member of our forum. They are quite happy and content. Had it not been for the internet, indirectly, I would've never met and married my husband. So...yeah, it happens.

I'm one who thinks that VLV is a great album and that Eno isn't "tainting" their music. Since Parachutes, I've always been a fan, but I have changed and grown, just as Coldplay's music has. I think their albums get better and better as they go. If Brian Eno has helped them push their sound in the direction VLV took...than, he should stay. I like their new sound. It's electric and makes me want to sing and dance. Nothing, except Yellow, made me want to sing and dance off of Parachutes. In fact, as much as I love the album, it gets slow and monotonous towards the end. So...I guess that places me on the "keep Eno" bandwagon. :\

Yes. My "soulmate" is actually my best friend. She and I are both girls, who are married with our own children, but we are "kindred spirits" and I do consider her my soulmate. She's not a "mate" in the sense of intimacy or romance, but instead of friendship.

Well...I'm old. Graduated high school in '97 and graduated college in '02. Okay, so after reading through this thread, I have a LOT of strong opinions, but I won't voice them because I don't feel like arguing with stubborn teenagers...........but I will say this, and this is coming from a teacher's standpoint. When we say "you could be so much better" it's because we see your potential. Sometimes we even see a bit of ourselves in our students. We want so much for you to realize your potential and reach it before it's too late....before you have to look back years later and think, "I wish I would've tried harder." I will sometimes go home and wonder how I can reach that one student that refuses to listen. It's maddening! It's because I care. It's because I want to reach that student and try to open their eyes: make them see they are just coasting and are enabling their own mediocrity when they could be brilliant; they could make a difference in a big way. You just don't know. You just don't. Some of you say you "hate teachers" and that just breaks me. Those teachers you hate care about you. They don't harp at you because they hate you. They do that because they want to see you succeed. I had teachers like that when I was in school that I thought were pure hardasses, but now I see.... And just know that when some of you go home at night and wax indifferent about school...just remember that your teachers go home and think about you...how they can reach you...how they can make a difference in your education and life. So, maybe you think your teachers don't do that, but I do. I'm a teacher. And I care. Sorry for the long post. It's just something I feel passionately about.
