Coldplay 7" Singles Boxset
I purchased one on Ebay for $75 last week (brand new) here in the U.S. Should be at my doorstep today or tomorrow! :-) There are a few more that are reasonably priced under $90, at least when I looked this weekend, so try there if you want one at a good price. Unfortunately the majority are around $120 or $150. Here are some other links if you want to purchase online from a distributor. Great prices, too: http://www.oldies.com/product-view/12643V.html (U.S) http://www.netsoundsmusic.com/nsudsii/2/437896687/990/2.html (Denmark) Hopefully shipping to wherever you are isn't too much. These seem to be some of the cheapest I've been able to find. Good luck!

Cemetries Of London....
I love this song. Reminds me of vampires, shadows in the night.....creepy and atmospheric. Even when played live, they use the deep purple lights to kick off the song which gives it an even darker feel.

Coldplay should ditch Eno.
+1 Viva was the first album that ever made me take notice of Coldplay. It's mature, polished, dark, progressive....it's an amazing story of love, fear, God, happiness, destruction. Brilliant songwriting and musicianship. Albums like this aren't supposed to be made by "top 40 bands". As a result I saw them 3 times on this tour, more than I've seen anyone on any particular tour in my life. The album is breathtaking in every sense of the word. How much of that was Eno I don't know. But, I do know that it turned me into a fan. What's the harm in staying with him? I agree, they should keep him on for the next one. I hope they continue this direction, because it made fan out of me, someone who usually stuck to progressive rock only (Genesis, Yes, Marillion, Triumvirat, etc.). Thanks to Viva I now carry a torch for Coldplay. Big time.

Okay, a few more videos loaded: http://www.youtube.com/user/sledgeinc2 And a few more also on my photo / video page listed in my signature below.... What an energetic performance. And with the big screens on each side, it almost felt as if we were in a small club. We were sitting in the back of the reserved seats (section DDD, almost as far back as you could get before the lawn) but it was still amazing. The guys next to us were all singing and dancing, it was a great vibe! And it was great to hear "Trouble" in the set list too!

Okay everyone !!!! It's almost time !!!! This tour has been amazing. I saw them in Dallas late last year, then in San Antonio last month. This tour has been a soundtrack of sorts for my life this past year. Went through a divorce, had lots of life changes take place, and seemed to walk through fire at times. Funny how much of it started on the heels of the tour, and I managed to get through it alive, now that the tour is ending. With all of the wild events of my life taking place the past year, Coldplay's music has become even more important to me, and "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" is an album that will always be close to my heart for those reasons. I'm sad to say "farewell", but Coldplay has given me memories to last a lifetime on this tour (with 3 awesome shows I will have attended in person) and I can't wait for the next album to come out, with another tour. I just hope the poor lads aren't worn out by then, they must be exhausted ! this has to be one of the longest tours in recent rock / pop memory....but they love the fans, and that's why we love them. Thank you Coldplay for giving us such great memories.

Coldplay Dreams
I had a strange one a few nights back. I was showing Chris around my parents' house for some odd reason (I think he wanted to buy it), and we were cracking really lame knock-knock jokes to each other and laughing like mad. Kinda cool! But really bizarre....

R.I.P. Ed McMahon
From MSNBC: LOS ANGELES - Ed McMahon, the loyal “Tonight Show” sidekick who bolstered boss Johnny Carson with guffaws and a resounding “H-e-e-e-e-e-ere’s Johnny!” for 30 years, died early Tuesday. He was 86. McMahon died shortly after midnight at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center surrounded by his wife, Pam, and other family members, said his publicist, Howard Bragman. Bragman didn’t give a cause of death, saying only that McMahon had a “multitude of health problems the last few months.” McMahon had bone cancer, among other illnesses, according to a person close to the entertainer, and had been hospitalized for several weeks. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to release the information. McMahon broke his neck in a fall in March 2007, and battled a series of financial problems as his injuries preventing him from working. McMahon and Carson had worked together for nearly five years on the game show “Who Do You Trust?” when Carson took over NBC’s late-night show from Jack Paar in October 1962. McMahon played second banana on “Tonight” until Carson retired in 1992. “You can’t imagine hooking up with a guy like Carson,” McMahon said in an interview with The Associated Press in 1993. “There’s the old phrase, hook your wagon to a star. I hitched my wagon to a great star.” McMahon, who never failed to laugh at his Carson’s quips, kept his supporting role in perspective. “It’s like a pitcher who has a favorite catcher,” he said. “The pitcher gets a little help from the catcher, but the pitcher’s got to throw the ball. Well, Johnny Carson had to throw the ball, but I could give him a little help.”

Yes indeed !! :D Saw them in San Antonio a couple of weeks back and in Dallas on the first leg of the tour. I've never seen a band so frequently in such a short period of time. I love it !! But I hope Chris and the boys are prepared to sweat like mad....an outdoor theater in Dallas in the middle of July! ouch! I wonder why American Airlines arena wasn't available? No matter. We'll be singing and dancing like crazy! As the show comes closer, are there plans for any meet-ups before the show?

Woo-hoo! San Antonio! I have tix for the Dallas show later in the tour, and I'm definitely going to San Antonio as well. Hopefully the AT&T Center is friendly this time around. I went to see Neil Diamond (don't laugh) back in November at the AT&T Center, and security was confiscating every cell phone and camera taking photos. There wasn't a flash bulb or cell phone to be found in the place after the first few songs. I have never seen security that tight at a concert in my life. So hopefully they'll lighten up for Coldplay. Another presale scramble tomorrow...woo-hoo!

Guitarist Joe Satriani sues Coldplay for plagiarism
The Satriani song in question uses several riffs that Mike and the Mechanics used in many of their songs during the mid-to-late 80's. I hear more than one nod to "All I Need is a Miracle" and even bits of the melody line to the Genesis track "Since I Lost You" written / recorded in 1991. Maybe we can get Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins to file a lawsuit against Satriani. And Satriani's "dagger through my heart" comment is SO melodramatic. Geesh....Mr. hardcore rocking guitarist is somehow brought to his knees because another band has a hit song. Can you say "PAYDAY"???? Satriani has loads of talent and I respect him as musical player. In terms of his musical ETHICS, well....that's another story. Sounds like he was sitting around just waiting for an opportunity to pounce. Or perhaps his lawyer was. Either way, this stinks for the music industry as a whole. Creativeness will be given even greater scrutiny thanks to ridiculous lawsuits like this one. Perhaps Chuck Berry's agent should sue EVERYONE who has ever played a guitar. After all, his guy created a lot of what's still being used today....:wink3:

Crooks indeed ! Some Ticketmaster sites already have tix for the Houston show (which doesn't go on sale until next week). And these "$25 convenience fees"....what a bunch of garbage. Pearl Jam tried to bring these guys down in the 90's and failed, but they opened a lot of eyes to corruption and bad practices in the ticket / entertainment industry. It would be great if some of the mega bands like Coldplay, The Killers, U2, etc could all say something, but the record labels and the RIAA are all in business with Ticketmaster, so they might consider it biting the hand that feeds them. What a mess.

I already have my tickets, but I looked on the general sale for Dallas today anyway, and there's not much left at all. Found a bunch of lawn seats, a few in the upper 200's, but that's about it Glad I got the presale.... But for those looking, keep trying. You never know what might pop up.
