  1. There is a 3 day gap between the Dallas show and Houston show. Wonder if the band might sneak in a San Antonio show in there.... Either way, Dallas and Houston here I come !! :)
  2. First time I ever saw them live was at AA Center on the "Viva" tour. Welcome back Coldplay! June can't come fast enough.....:D
  3. Excellent !!!!
  4. Woo-hoo !! Picked one up during lunch at my local Target !!
  5. It's a very catchy song, but I just don't like Rihanna's voice. She sounds like those grade school girls in the local school talent show that sing through their noses. Take away her vocals and the song is very good, IMO.
  6. I have a subscription to Rhapsody so I can download and hear all kinds of music, and was looking forward to hearing MX this morning upon its release. However, I log in and see that the album is "For Purchase Only." All the other new releases from other bands are always available for download, but for some reason MX isn't given that status. Thanks for nothing Rhapsody....:P
  7. These chaps have remained humble, despite their massive success. Another reason I love this band so much.
  8. Awesome Brandy, glad you got to see them. :) They put a lot of energy and love into their shows. Hopefully it was the first of many times you'll see them live....
  9. I saw a live clip of Paradise from the TODAY show appearance earlier (on NBC.com), but can't find it now. Hopefully they'll post it again later on. I'm sure someone will post the entire show to YouTube or UStream within the next day or so.
  10. Colbert is interviewing Chris right now....funny stuff !
  11. It's getting closer....almost time! :D

  13. Looks awesome, I'll be ordering it soon. That pop-up book looks interesting! Any chance of that book having band photos in it instead of just artwork? At any rate, it has a totally unique feel and I'm glad a special edition like this is available. As for the vinyl, it mentions a graffiti-style version. Does this mean it will definitely be on colored vinyl or a picture disc? Or maybe it's regular black vinyl and only the picture sleeves are graffiti. Hard to tell. At any rate, it's pressed at 180 grams so no doubt the quality will be outstanding. BTW, if anyone wants to order the standard vinyl edition (not the special edition), that will be available on November 1st, and the digital download will be available the day the CD comes out (just like the special edition).
  14. I agree. Love the song. And it was awesome singing and dancing to it with the paper butterflies "fluttering" around us. I also would like to see it back in the setlist.
  15. Choldplayer, you are entitled to your opinion, but making a separate thread about how you're slagging off two new songs is a bit egocentric to me. Why not just say you don't like them in their own respective threads, instead of thumping your chest and informing the world that these two songs are "abominations" and you don't want them on your music player?
  16. I'm liking what I hear. Sounds as if a concept may indeed tie the songs together. As someone who is a big fan of more progressive bands like Genesis, Marillion, Yes, and others of the sort, I love conceptual pieces, in that you put on the album and actually sit down and listen to it. While some tracks can be heard individually, the package as a whole is meant to be consumed in one sitting. I love albums like that. "Viva La Vida" is that way with me. I don't hear tracks individually from it, I put it on from start to finish and savor each track as part of the entire story, and it flows beautifully. Something tells me MX will be just as powerful. :)
  17. It's been awhile since I've used a portable turntable, but in instances when I have and used headphones to listen, the sound was just fine. As long as there is a decent stylus / needle hitting the record, the sound should be fine for headphones, irregardless if turntable is portable, attached to large speakers, etc. Now since you live in an apartment and don't want to disturb your neighbors, you could probably unplug the headphones on your portable record player and listen at a comfortable volume. Of course, the speakers that are attached to portable turntables are very small, so you may not get a full rich sound, but that can be said for any electronic device. Imagine playing a soaring tune like "Viva La Vida" on your PC, then listening to it full blast in a club or high end stereo. That's not to say a portable record player can't give good sound, but don't expect it to blow your socks off. But again, if you're in an apartment at the moment, that's probably a good thing. You don't want the neighbors banging against the wall complaining of the volume . :) Depending on your budget, you can get good quality portable turntables on Ebay or Amazon. Amazon stocks a lot from the company Crosley, but I would avoid those as they tend to be built rather cheaply and I knew a few folks to had them. They looked nice in a living room, but the sound and construction weren't that good. However, it's possible that this brand might work for you and the people who I knew got some bad ones from the factory. I don't want to tarnish an entire line of turntables, just passing along what I have found out from people who owned them. I wish I could recommend a good portable turntable, but to be honest, I haven't had much experience with them. I purchased a brand new Rheem portable turntable from Ebay about 10 years ago and used it a lot. It was awesome, and made around 1970. It was an old player designed to be used in classrooms but was never commissioned from the school district. I got it brand new for a song, I think it was only $50. Used it like crazy. It had a big speaker built in and sounded great. But, older players sometimes have tonearms that are super heavy, and the needle can dig into the vinyl and really degrade records over time. Luckily mine had a very light arm, but keep that in mind if you buy one. You can always get a portable turntable, then later on, get a standalone one you can attach to a stereo system / receiver. Whatever fits your budget, living area, environment, etc. If you have some stores in your area you can actually go into (as opposed to just online places), I'd go and have a look around. You can write down the model types, prices, etc, then research them on the internet through Amazon, Google, etc, to see what customers have to say about the quality. And of course, to see if you get a better price online too. :) Then return to the store to buy it if you research and find your store has the best price and so forth. Feel free to continue the discussion here or shoot me a private message anytime. Italian Plastic gave a great response to your other question.
  18. I'm sure there will be torrents out within a day of the release....
  19. This was a great show! ETIAW makes me wanna dance on the roof, what a great high energy song!
  20. Great performance of Paradise ! WOW ! I'm trying to block out of my mind that the band is only 20 miles away from me. Too depressing that I'm not there, but this feed is freaking amazing! I'll catch them on the MX tour next year.... :D
  21. OMG....that live version of PARADISE was INCREDIBLE !!!! :shocked2:
  22. I also prefer LiT over LiTII, but I still love 'em both. Hearing those first few notes of LiT when the Viva La Vida live shows began was awesome. Chills down the spine...:)
