  1. We're staying at the La Quinta on I-30, about 5 or 6 miles from A.A. Arena. Had good luck with that one in the past for all kinds of events. Only about $60 a night and it's a good clean place with a free breakfast in the lobby each morning. It's a pretty basic place though, not a lot of frills or extras (no room service or anything like that), just good basic lodging. Keep that one in mind as well.
  2. I wouldn't mind hearing "Cemeteries of London" and "Life in Technicolour". Those are two of my favorite songs. It will be interesting to see if they change up the setlist when they hit Dallas next weekend....
  3. I like how the Xyloband instructions say "Tighten the strap, enjoy the show." My girlfriend told me that awhile back. That's why I'm marrying her.....:D
  4. On the 23rd, I'm sitting waaaaaaay in the back in Section 318. I'll be directly across the arena from you on the other side....I'll wave to you. :D I think your seats will be okay. During the Viva tour, they had a huge screen up, and depending on where you sat, you couldn't see over it. On this tour, they have several "holes" in the setup from what I understand. Plus, they will need to strip down their set to bring it into arenas (as opposed to the massive set they already have for outdoor shows) which will allow more viewing space. Also, since you're "up and over" the top seats, so to speak, you should have no problem looking down. I can't vouch for what the lights will look like from your end, but I doubt the promoters would sell seats to people in the back if they were being completely blocked from seeing the band. I think you'll be just fine. Plus, if you're not satisfied with your seat, you can always drift during the show and walk toward the front areas to get a different view. I'll be there on Friday the 22nd too, the night before you're there, and I'll try and go upstairs to see what your vantage point would be. First night I'm down in section 121, the second night I'm in 318. Hopefully us Coldplayers can all meet up before the shows. There are several restaurants and pubs located on the American Airlines Center front strip. I suspect we'll all figure something out in the Dallas thread of the Coldplay live area. Did that help at all? :P
  5. Hi FreeOne, I'll be there too.... :D Not sure how it will look behind the stage, it depends on how big their setup is. But you'll be very close, seeing as the stage is pressed against one side of the building. I don't know if they'll turn around and play to folks behind them, but I think you'll still get a good feel of the light show and so forth. And I'm sure the screens that are midway up the arena will broadcast the front view in your direction. What are your seat numbers? I know American Airlines Arena pretty well....
  6. Cap Radio ended up tape delaying it. They broadcast a few songs about 30 minutes or so after Coldplay's set ended. I recorded it from an internet stream of the broadcast directly from Cap Radio's webpage (glad I left it recording!). Only about 15 minutes were broadcast so I captured it and put in on my YouTube page if anyone wanted to listen to it on the fly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okX4uwzHBdQ&feature=youtu.be
  7. I posted the FM audio internet stream on my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okX4uwzHBdQ&feature=youtu.be Coldplayer "hps" will probably have a much higher quality version in the Multimedia section.
  8. Capital FM should be broadcasting Coldplay's set (tape delayed of course) very shortly.
  9. Hmmmm....I'm hooked to the live stream but all I hear are standard radio songs, nothing live, even though an announcer said the show is about to take place. Strange....
  10. These are all great suggestions. Thanks everyone!
  11. I'm getting married at the beginning of August and our reception will be held a week later. :-) We love Coldplay. What particular songs would you recommend for a wedding in terms of love songs, dance songs, etc?
  12. How bad is the rain out there? Just a few sprinkles or is it worse?
  13. Same here in the States. Usually the Arena / Stadium has a policy of their own, but I haven't heard any stories of cameras being confiscated at Coldplay shows. When I saw them back on the Viva tour, people were taking photos and filming like crazy in the crowds and it was just fine. Even though security made you empty your pockets at the door and look through purses to make sure you weren't bringing in anything illegal, cameras were never confiscated. Thank God for that, because Coldplay and their fans realize how important technology is and sharing photos / videos is a great way to not only promote the band, but help fans stay in touch through online communities, so everyone wins. :) I saw Neil Diamond in concert a few years back, and HIS policy was not to allow cameras at all. And security would walk through the crowd taking cameras and escorting people out. Imagine that, a 70 year old millionaire entertainer not wanting fans to take his photo (the fans who made him rich over the past 5 decades!!). Luckily Coldplay is smarter than that!
  14. There are a few restaurants / pubs located around the A.A. Center (and a few right on the walk-up strip). We'll be staying at a hotel about 5 miles away on I-30. If anyone has any ideas about meeting up, let's post them here. :)
  15. I want those huge MX graffiti seat drapers (that are behind the stage) to cover my house !! :D
  16. LOL !! Great minds think alike.... ;) I put "TX" in mine as I'm down here in the Lone Star State. And Coldplay will be here in a few weeks....I can't wait !!
  17. My kids are 5 and 3. They are both in love with side two of "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends." We always sing "VLV", "Violet Hill" and "Strawberry Swing." Lately they have enjoyed "Paradise" and "ETIAW." Funny to hear them sing these songs out loud along with their usual nursery rhymes, Church songs, etc!
