  1. I had a long day today. Desperately trying to keep my eyes open to see as much of Coldplay as possible. Might need to get some energy by grabbing a coffee and / or sticking my finger in a light socket.
  2. Agreed. Sounds like he's having his prostate examined by Captain Hook.
  3. Ticketmast live agent said "We experienced problems in certain regions beginning the sale" which means about half of the U.S. was blacked out at the beginning. Screen finally came up 10 minutes after the sale started, lousy seats left. Ugh! :(
  4. I'm running out of money !!!! Darn you Coldplay.... :)
  5. And here's a map of the Toyota Center if anyone needs it ....
  6. I got tickets in section 107 for Houston during the AMEX presale. I did come across floor seats for Houston and Dallas for that sale, but they were toward the back of the floor section, and I figured having a nice cushy arena seat mid-way up with a great view beats standing in the back of the floor section. But, to each their own. And, of course, we'll all be standing and clapping the whole time anyway, so anything goes....
  7. According to Ticketmaster's email..... Friday's presale code for Dallas is "MYLO"
  8. Ticketmaster at their finest. Legalized scalping by the company themselves. We can thank the U.S. Congress for allowing this to continue after the monopoly merger with Live Nation.
  9. NO I DON'T WANT A BATTLE FROM BEGINNING TO END....
  10. I'm sure plenty more dates will be announced. They may do multiple legs of this tour, so the chances of more dates occurring are very high. Coldplay's management knows how popular they are and I'm sure they will not miss a chance to play in as many places as possible, especially since ticket sales are always high for the band. Have patience my friends. There will be more dates booked....:D
  11. Ah, I was at that Starplex gig too, I remember the hat! :D Well done! Section 318 is across the arena, facing the stage dead-on. And yes, I'm sure us Coldplayers will plan someplace to meet and hang out before the show. That would be fun. June will be here before we know it !
  12. Anyone listen to this awesome progressive rock band from Poland? I just started getting into them about 6 months ago. They have an album called "Anno Domini High Definition" that is blistering hard / progressive rock adventure. Their earlier albums are a bit more mellow and still good, but this one is a masterpiece. Anyway, wondered if anyone here likes them.
  13. ...NOW MY FEEEEEEET WON'T TOUCH THE GROUND !!
  14. Ticketmaster is famous for this. The so-called "leaked to the promoter tickets" are usually from the ticket company itself. Why should Ticketmaster sell front row seats for $120 when they can scalp them on the open market and get $800 for them? It's sad, really. But the laws allow it. Makes me sick.
  15. I had heard "Speed of Sound" and "Clocks" over the years, and liked them, but didn't investigate the band very much. Once the album "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" came out, it was available on Rhapsody. So I gave it a spin, and the first two tracks, "Life in Technicolor" and "Cemeteries of London", blew my mind. A variety of moods on those two songs, from uplifting to eerie, from light to dark, interested me enough to explore further. To me, I was excited that it wasn't an album of throwaway stuff from a top 40 band, it was an adventure, meant to be explored as an entire package. I never pick songs out of this album to listen to individually, it's either the entire album at once or no songs at all. It's a story, a solid package....dark, progressive, heavy and superbly crafted. Music is great, isn't it? :)
  16. You will have a great time. And bring a camera, all those flashing wristbands will make for some great photos. :) And you're up high, row 2, it will be like having your own concert. It's cool sitting in the high seats with nobody in front of you (or in your case, just one row). You'll have a dead-on view of the lightshow, the neon, the special effects, glowing wristbands, etc. Coldplay makes sure their shows are big and bright, no matter where you sit.
  17. Section 107, row 11, I'm happy. Lower arena seats, great view, not floor but hey, if you're too close you can't see all those awesome flashing wristbands....:D
  18. Houston AMEX pre-sale begins at 10 AM CST this morning. Good luck everyone! :)
  19. Stubhub is basically a scalping site, despite what they tell you. Seats that are originally $50 could go for $150 easily. The reason they can do this is because of a contractual agreement, think of a consignment shop, so fees / taxes exchange hands and therefore they are able to operate under U.S. laws. Therefore it's not considered scalping. But don't waste your time on there, you'll spend much more than you should. If you can't get a good ticket during the sale, try Ebay, you'll have much better luck getting something around face value. I've been to the Toyota Center in Houston. It's a gorgeous arena, but man it's massive. I suggest not sitting in sections 415 - 421 if you can help it. Although these are the cheapest seats, they are waaaaaaay out there, since the arena is so massive. I think it seats nearly 20,000 so it's bigger than most. Anyway, if you can get something closer, go for it, but if your budget doesn't allow it, you'll still have a good time, no question about it, but you'll be further out there. By comparison, American Airlines center in Dallas (the same seats toward the back) has a better view since the arena goes a bit further up than out, if that makes sense. Anyway, here's a seating chart of Houston's arena. This should be the same layout for the Coldplay show. Check with the Toyota Center website during the next week and see if anything is different. Good luck! P.S. - I've seen Coldplay three times live (each during the "Viva" tour). At each show I sat in different types of seats....very close, semi-close, and in the back. Each time I had a great time because everyone at the show claps, sings and has a great time. I don't want to discourage you from getting a seat. No matter where you sit, you'll have a good time, even if it's toward the back. You'll still enjoy singing, dancing, acting crazy... :) What matters is that you enjoy yourself.
  20. Someone asked about the AMEX pre-sale.... I did an AMEX pre-sale years ago (2007 for Genesis) and the seats were so-so. I booked them anyway, then later found out that even better tickets were available during the general sale a week later. That's been my only experience with an AMEX pre-sale. I wish I could get into the first few rows, but TicketBastard already has most of those as "premium packages" and either sells them for $800 each, or scalps them on a "legal" scalping site. Anyway, I'm doing Dallas and Houston. Dallas AMEX pre-sale is Monday morning 12/12 at 10:00 CST, and Houston is the next Monday 12/19 (no pre-sale). I always enjoy the mad dash on the internet to scoop up tickets. The thrill of the chase....do you buy the first ones you come across, even if the seats aren't good, or give them back, but fear getting worse seats since about 10k fans are buying them at the same time?
