  1. Well, it was fun chatting with you guys! I've got to go take care of some things in the real world ;) I'm sure I'll talk to you all later!
  2. well, there's when an album's released (then each single as it comes out :P), the subsequent tour (every single gig is analyzed very carefully), awards shows, radio and television interviews and appearances, videos, the end of the tour and the subsequent announcement of a new leg of the tour, the band's official website and every minute detail contained therein, debate over concert and appearance attire, speculation as to what the next album will sound like and when it will come out, complaints about how awful the last album was; raves about how the last album is the best thing ever written and performed, etc, etc. Don't even get me started on the unreleased material! :smug: have fun here. you'll learn alot... probably a lot more than you want to. ;)
  3. Yeah, the upgrade thing is very cool. It's nice that some bands still do things like that for their fans! OK, now I'm intrigued... ... spill it! ;)
  4. eh... it's practically christmastime, anyway! ;) but it is one of my winter traditions to watch that movie w/ hot chocolate once december rolls around :wacky:
  5. You'll love Serendipity. :) and ha! I just realized it was 1989 when it came out... which means I was not quite in h.s. yet (was a freshman in 1990). :P But, yeah, still old. :( But at least we're cool, right? and that interviewer girl! Ahhh, and the irony that she was late for a FILM class of all things!
  6. @Alison- It seems great minds think alike! :P [ame= ] [/ame] Oh, I'm sooo far behind on Entourage! :( anyway, if you like Jeremy Piven and John Cusack, you really have no excuse to NOT see Serendipity. Immediately! :whip:
  7. aw, well then you must make that your next task! :P Seriously, it's really great... to be sure, it's a romantic comedy (and all that that implies), but John Cusack and Jeremy Piven are both really good in it. It's got several genuinely funny moments and lots of scenes that are quite touching. :wacky: I'd definitely recommend it!
  8. Hey Meredith! :wacky: awwww... in love. I know what you mean about the smaller gigs being so cool- Gary kept pointing people out in the back and dedicating songs to them! BUT, when I saw them open for CP, he was very much the same, just directing most of the banter to the floor... He and Paul in particular were very smiley at that show. oh, and about the upgrades thing... don't say it won't happen... you never know! I was pretty much in shock when it happened to me!
  9. must be the studios and all their caring about copyrights and silly things like that  Anyway, other than In Your Eyes, I really didn't love the soundtrack. A couple of good songs- Depeche Mode, Red Hot Chili Peppers, but the rest were just OK, I thought. btw, you're Allison, right? Have you seen Serendipity? That's probably my favorite John Cusack movie.
  10. OOOhhhhhh, that is fantastic! I love how she kept asking him, as though maybe he was mistaken! I went looking for the In Your Eyes scene, too, and came across a very disturbing use of Snow Patrol's Open Your Eyes in a montage video thingy from one of those OC- like shows. Couldn't find anything from Say Anything other than the trailers!
  11. Welcome, Mango! Well, we know you must be pretty OK since you're friends with people who have great taste! :D Who's *YOUR* favorite band, then? btw, I'm Jen. Nice to meet you! :nice:
  12. That song really is perfect for that scene. :wacky: And yeah, I'll have to check out America's Sweethearts. I really love most of the stuff he does, although, I have to say, I will be avoiding 2012 like the plague!
  13. ^Awesome, Congrats!! I get to see them next week!!!:dance:
  14. ha! don't know if anyone saw this... but it is AWESOME!! From their gig on Halloween night... [ame= ] [/ame] edit: @Deaths_friend- thanks for the download links. They are one of the few bands I still haven't seen that I'd really like to!
  15. Hey Jenn :) Hope you enjoy Serendipity... it seems like it's always on somewhere! and I also love how Joan is in all of (or nearly all of) his movies. I haven't seen America's Sweethearts... is she in that one? and in my browsing around this morning, I came across this article with Cameron Crowe discussing using "In Your Eyes" in the movie. Classic, classic scene. http://music-mix.ew.com/2009/11/03/say-anything-cameron-crowe-in-your-eyes-interview/ Can't believe it's been out 20 years. wow, I'm old. :(
  16. or not a tiny 5'0" woman like I am! :P OK. for real this time. Bedtime for me! 'night, all! :)
  17. not obsessed... but it was one of my favorite movies in high school. Yes, I actually was in high school when it came out! :P
  18. Yes! He was so good in that movie... I loved his friends, too. Crazy Cory and her crazy songs, the loser guys at the convenience store! Oh, here's another great bit of dialogue... D.C.: Lloyd, why do you have to be like this? Lloyd Dobler: 'Cause I'm a guy. I have pride. Corey Flood: You're not a guy. Lloyd Dobler: I am. Corey Flood: No. The world is full of guys. Be a man. Don't be a guy. Thanks for bringing it up... Now I really must see it again! But right now, I really must go to sleep! 'night! :nice:
  19. ^yeah, this is the Coldplay gig I went to, not Snow Patrol. Snow Patrol happened to be opening for Coldplay at that show. Oh, just got what you meant. Yeah, at that particular show there was no pit. Which I'm sure sucked for people who weren't lucky enough to get upgrades. :P But, it was FABULOUS being in the very front without having to worry about losing your spot or someone squeezing past you, etc. etc.
  20. ^^GAAAAAHHHHH love it!! oh, I haven't seen it in sooo long. Now I'm going to have to netflix it! my other favorite: (had to look it up on IMDB!) :P "I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that." love me some John Cusack!
  21. Hey! Ummm... got upgraded by Coldplay's crew. Had seats up in the very upper tier at the very back.... I knew that roadies had been going around at shows giving upgrades to "true" fans, and sure enough, as I was walking around the concession area on the upper tier, I saw a roadie walking around. I stopped him to ask him about where the c-stage was going to be and he told me... we chatted a bit and then he mentioned that I must be a big fan if I knew about the c-stage. I said, "I'M A HUUUUUGE FAAAANNNN!!!!" :P He asked me what CP's first album was, which I of course answered, and then he handed my sister and me front row, dead center tickets. It was absolutely mind-blowing and I don't think I stopped shaking until well after Coldplay came on!

^yep.. that kitty is good! :D The posing one is really cute, but the playful one is a little more interesting to look at. :)
  23. I don't particularly remember the lights being too bad. I was dead center, though, so that might have made a difference. Plus the fact that I was kind of stunned the whole time and it went by in a blur. But you're definitely right about intimate gigs being better. You really feel like you make a connetion with the band. I made eye contact repeatedly with Paul, Gary and Jonny at the SP gig. Nathan was always staring off to the back. :P Eyes Open is my favorite album, followed very closely by AHMS. I've been loving that one more and more lately, particularly Set Down Your Glass. Well, it was nice chatting with you, but I am now officially exhausted! Have a good night... see you around! Oh, I'm Jen, btw. :nice:

well, they're all great. I do really love the feet one, though. The lighting and the textures are really cool. your kitty is adorable, too. :nice: Good luck deciding!
  25. I  Lloyd Dobler. "I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen..." :wacky: It's Jen, right? (Jen here, too :D) YOU MUST SEE SERENDIPTIY. love, love, love, love, love it. it's perfect for the holiday season, too!
